The service is kinda non existent.. the chef was just kinda standing behind me while I'm looking. I love the design of the place but it's not well maintained. It's great to have a pho place in the Woodforest subdivision. The waitress recommended chicken breast pho. Got a Large. This cold snap called for a bowl of pho. The chicken breast was a bit tough but the pho broth was decent so are the noodles and vegetables. The menu was quite broad and this was a first try. The service was laid back and on the slower pace. Restrooms need lil improvement. The flush was weak and the hand soap smelt strong, almost like laundry detergent. Ambiance was OK. Dim lighting and decor created a relaxing and comfortable ambiance suited for a hideout after a hectic day or drive. read more

It was good best tasting thing was the salad. The grilled seafood was great when it was fresh and dipped in the fish sauce but once it cooled down, it was just all right. The fried rice seafood was also good and had the crunchy bits from the cooking as for the coconut snails it was a bit on the salty side and was not as sweet as I expected, but was still not too bad. The crab glass noodles were also good and on the lighter side in terms of flavor overall, all the food was great and I would come back. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was very pretty and bright. The seating also fairly spacious. I will say the restaurant is a little bit messy with some food and napkins from older customers underneath my table when I got seated. Why 4 stars? Because it's another solid option in the neighborhood. --- --- --- I was wanting to try this place anyway, and then I happened to come down with a lovely sinus infection, which meant my craving for pho went up about 100x. So I called in a pick-up order for the filet mignon pho like it was medicine from my local pharmacy. I thought the pho was good, not great. It didn't quite completely hit the spot in the way that I hoped, but I did enjoy it. To be honest, I have never ordered pho to go, so I didn't know it was customary to package everything up separately like it was: the broth was in its own container and a box contained the meat and all the fixins, all very neatly individually packaged. Maybe that's not customary? But I thought it was really nicely done. I also ordered the "Sweet Fried Vietnamese Banana" - I wasn't sure what it exactly was, but I enjoy all four of those words, so I was optimistic. It turns out that it's basically bananas, whip cream and vanilla ice cream. I had no idea that's what it was, but I loved it. I will absolutely order this during all future visits. I also happened to visit during Lunar New Year, and was told that I could pick an envelope. I didn't really know what to expect with this game that I've never played, but it turns out, there was a dollar bill inside. Later, the employees told me there was a hundred dollar bill hidden in one of the envelopes. I honestly know nothing about Lunar New Year, but that's pretty sweet! So we had an afternoon of meal prep planned and got the wild hair to go have Pho. We're so glad we followed that feeling. It led us straight to Pho Saigon Oldie. Service was great. The bartender went above and beyond to create an amazing Boba drink. Our waiter was awesome and answered questions about the menu etc. Our food was fast to come out. The portion sizes were huge. We got an opportunity to talk with our bartender and she was a sweet heart. I think Christina and I picked the right time. It's Sunday at 4:00pm. It's relatively low stress. Absolutely amazing pho and service. I went with family and we all enjoyed our meal very much. The environment was very interesting with nice decorations around the restaurant and a creative way of hiding the AC units throughout the restaurant. Oh my quest to try as many Vietnamese restaurants as I can while in Houston. I came across pho Saigon oldie. The food I had was pho with brisket, crab Rangoon, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Everything tasted so good, I enjoyed every bit of the pho. The broth was nice is beef flavored, bold and yummy. The crab rangoon was nice and crispy, not soggy or oily like some other places. However, the ice coffee was a little weak like the other place I had gone to, but still tasted good. The service was excellent and attentive and the ambiance was very Viet style. Came here with my wife and kids. Our waitress was extremely nice. The food was pretty good!!! My wife had the ramen with filet and I had a vermicelli. Both were very good. Our kids split an adult shrimp pad Thai and also enjoyed their food. They have an Asian beer selection as well for those that want to have a taste throughout. Will be back! read more

Great new addition to Pine Market in Woodforest. Our first visit and the food and service was great. I had Pho and my wife had grilled chicken, fried rice and egg both were of quality. The head chef gave us a complementary fired rice. Both of the rice had great flavor and were well done. Her rice was what the chef called red rice it was really flavorful and was a surprise. We found ourselves without any of our children as they were all with friends, so we decided to grab lunch somewhere we wouldn't normally get to eat because of our picky eater! We chose Pho Saigon Oldie because of the reviews I read here, and we were incredibly happy with our decision! Our waitress, Tami (I think), was super sweet and attentive. The food was delicious, fresh, and it arrived quickly. Both of the owners came by to check on us, and it's evident that they aim to please. We talked at length with Chef Dan. We enjoyed our food so much that we want to come back WITH our kids. I discussed options for my picky kiddo, and Chef Dan was willing to modify the Pho to the best of his abilities. (I wouldn't do that as I think trying new things is important.) I was so full, since the portions are so generous that I ended up taking home half of my small bowl of Pho. Last night, I had my picky kiddo try it, and he cannot wait to go eat his own bowl of Pho! I put everything in my pho, and I made him try the bean sprouts, basil, green onion, and what little bit of filet mignon was left!
