Dosirak is a one person operation with the best Korean food North of Houston. We visited Dosirak on a Saturday afternoon before heading to B-52 up the street. We ordered Bibim Bap andBeef Bulgogi special which also came with shrimp and couple of sides. Both the dishes were extremely tasty and very reasonably priced(less than $10 if memory serves right). When we were interested In purchasing some imported, prepackaged desserts from Korea(can't remember the name) The owner/chef was very helpful and explained what it was and how it'd taste. We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but the place is well maintained and very clean. Definitely worth visiting! read more

Was around the area checking up on our house being built in conroe, we decided to stop by before we drive back down to houston. The food was delicious, me and my husband got the lunch box spicy pork and chicken both full of flavor and though people say it's a small portion i feel like it was a reasonable size due to the little side dishes they give in the lunch box, the older lady also gave a bunch of free little things with our food, it was a kind gesture being asian myself i know that's a sign of the older asian generation showing love. This will definitely be our spot for korean food in town once we move out here. read more

Had a terrific lunch here - five ingredients in a bento-style box, each one delicious. The place is chock full of Korean stuff - food, candy, tchotchkes, reminded me very much of shopping in Little Korea. The mother and son team cooking and serving are adorable, incredibly sweet and eager to please. If the place were a little cleaner and kept neatly I'd give it five stars, but the clutter actually made it feel more authentic. Dosirak is a traditional small Korean restaurant with truly authentic Korean food. What I'm trying to say is, it's DELICIOUS! I don't write many reviews (as you can tell), but I had to write something about this place. I've eaten at few of the I-10/Blalock small Korean restaurants in Houston and I have to say this place fulfills my cravings and saves me money from driving all the way down to H-Mart. From the homemade Kimchi, to the freshly cooked food, it's more like a home cooked meal than some in-and-out fast food Asian restaurant. I will say, the Kimchi soup does take awhile (because she makes it fresh for you), but I've tried the Galbi and Bi-Bim-Bop and it's worth the wait. I also pick up some Korean Fire Noodles Ramen packs when I'm there (again, way cheaper than going downtown or grabbing them from online). If You want some traditional Korean Deli/street food style food, drop on in. Now...if only they had Tteokbokki or Korean Fried Chicken! read more

Ambiance: Just a typical little strip center cafe with a variety of Asian snack foods. Bright and cheerful without being too crowded. Service: Fast and easy ordering. The woman behind the counter was very nice and welcoming. Orders were filled quickly. Food: We ordered the Potstickers, the Beef Bulgogi, and the Bibimbap. Everthing was made fresh while we waited, which made the place smell heavenly. The potstickers were really good with enough filling to make them worthwhile. Even on their own they were flavorful, but the sesame sauce added just that bit of extra oomph. The beef bulgogi came with a side of kimchi, and my husband was glad for that since it tended to be a bit spicy, he could graze on it to his own tolerance. My bibimbap was the real star of our table with a variety of fresh veggies, it tasted amazing with lots of varied complexity once I stirred it all up. Cost: For what we ordered, plus a bottled water and Dr. Pepper we spent about $30 including tip. It was worth every penny plus the drive we made from Cleveland. read more

This place is a nice hidden gem and breath of fresh air in Conroe, providing authentic Korean cuisine. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are delicious. Even more so, the staff is gracious and very abiding. My husband and I loved the mom-and-pop family business feel along with the incredible service we received. It's a very clean and simple establishment, better for a quick lunch. Portions are sensible for one. There are up charges for beef bulgogi, understandable for it being shaved ribeye. Anyong Hashimika! It is our first time tonight to try a Korean restaurant in this location and I must say that it taste like home cooked meal! I'm from L.A. Korean food is my jam and when I saw this place in Conroe I was shocked. This place is certifiably true authentic Korean cuisine worthy of being in Koreatown in LA. I ate the bibimbap and it was legit. And they had the melon popsicles that you could only find in Korean supermarkets. Conroe, this place is a local gem. Enjoy it! I've been coming here for about 2 years now and the food is always excellent. The woman running the restaurant is always really nice and she typically has her son cooking with her. They're both fantastic chefs! I typically will get the spicy pork dosirak (a bit similar to a bento box) and that's my favorite dish. The sides that come with it do change over time, so be willing to try new things! I also recommend the pork pot stickers; they're really flavorful and the sauce that comes with them goes great with it. I am from Houston so I know good Korean BBQ, and this is really good Korean BBQ. The food is flavorful, authentic, well priced, and cooked with soul. The only thing that tops the food is the amazing owners of the establishment. You can tell from the second you get there how much they care about their patrons. Dosirak (pronounced "doe she rock") is a quaint restaurant that came recommended, and the name of a meal served in a box much like a bansi. I was raised on Korean food amongst other things, so needless to say, I am very particular about what good Korean food is. The food here was really authentic. I had The Kal-bi, which is teriyaki steak ribs with caramelized onions. I received more than I expected or the price ($14). It came with kimchi and sticky rice made to perfection. It was served on a cast-iron skillet, liked used for fajitas, followed by full-service cutting with scissors (It's custom). They had great kimchi puncheon and great hospitality. I felt like I was at home, and was assured they can prepare anything I didn't see on the menu! Nice! The proprietor mother and her congenial son did all the cooking, serving, and greeting even to the little toddler. Even though it was busy, they made time to talk to the customers ... a true community feel. They have a variety of high to low seating and living plants as decor. They have a great deal of 10 pot stickers for $5. Not bad for prepared food! They also have a variety of choice groceries if you would like to bring something home and try. I love Korean food and this place had great food and great service. I ordered bulgogi which came with white rice and kimchi. The bulgogi was great and had a lot of onions and a good flavor with light garlic. They had soy sauce, Siracha and other sauces. Plus a variety of menu items, dried foods and Korean candy. read more

The food is really good here and if I were only reviewing that they'd get 5 stars. I had the beef bulgogi and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the food from here. The downfall for me was the way that the young man who works there speaks to who appears to be his mother. Now, in fairness, they were not speaking English, so I don't know what was being said, but the tone with which he spoke to his mother was absolutely despicable. It made me very uncomfortable. First time coming in with my family. We were the crazy ones with a 3,2 and new born. My kids were nuts tonight and yall were nothing but helpful and so polite. I called to place an order for my husband to pick up on his way home. They said the menu WITH PICTURES OF THEIR LOGO AND NAME was wrong. I placed an order, the girl repeated the order back to me perfectly. She said she was in a rush and had lots of orders ahead. I said that was fine. And then she immediately hung up. So my husband goes to pay and pick up. The girl who took my order told him that she was confused so they didn't make the order. When he asked what she was confused about she said she didn't know where I was getting the menu options from. She also stated that she wasn't sure if my husband was actually going to come pick up the food. My husband asks how long it will take for them to start making the food now, she said an hour or more. He left with no food. When I called the place to find out wtf, the lady was yelling at me that she was confused and that she couldn't hear me and hung up! This is an order at the counter resturant and then the mother and son duo deliver the food to the table you sit at the kitchen is also open air to the resturant. I had the Do Si Rak lunch box with the spicy pork it was delicious. The food was great!! Second time around within the same week the portions were clearly smaller to the point that we were hungry when we finished our pork and rice. I can see how there is no consistency when it comes to portion size. One dish having clearly more food than the other same dish...The service is great, but the temperature inside this restaurant is extremely uncomfortable. Very warm!! I want to take away 1 star for the A/C situation and the small portions during our second visit, but the fact that the food is so darn good is holding me back. This place is family owned and you can definitely tell. The family is really nice and hospitable from the moment you walk in. I always order the galbi short ribs and get the kimchi that goes with it. The regular house kimchi is fine but i like the radish and cucumber kimchi better. The prices are very good for the portions you get. There's a reason why I keep going back. We took our South Korean foreign exchange student there and he was very pleased. The food was delicious and the mother and son owners are very friendly. The mother remembered us from two years ago when we brought different foreign exchange students. We would eat here more often if we lived in Conroe. Incredible place, this should be packed every day. I am going to work myself down the short menu. The Korean beef was fantastic, the rice and you have to try the kimchee. Get there before everyone finds out how great I came back in to town, since I am a winter Texan. The food is still great. I will have to try the ribs next time.
