Ordered two chili dogs with onion rings and a drink. Everything was great including the service. I will be back and I recommend you stop in and give them a try.

I was informed by a colleague that this was one of the best burger places she's eaten at in a while...so we decided to go explore. It is a little house located on the south side of the street on Old Cornelia Highway in Gainesville, and from the outside you'll see the big "Double D Burger Sign". There is ample amount of parking around (recommended to park on the back side or front, not side, as there is a drive through which can get full during lunch time). Inside is a large open room with tables (4 seat tables). It is a No frills type of place, and from the initial look, makes one wonder how good the food is. (try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised) The prices for the food there is amazing! for the amount of food that you get, you are paying fractional money for it. I ordered a Double Hamburger with Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bacon, ketchup and onion rings with a drink. This came out to be $8.80 My colleague ordered a single burger with Lettuce and tomato with french fries and it came out to be $6.80 The burgers are all hand pressed burgers, made fresh. They were juicy and tasty and was very tasty for the price! (in NY, something like this would have been close to $15!) Inside, they also had some lunch specials such as hot foods - fried chicken, veggies, etc. and deserts as well (cobbler). Other foods on the menu included a Philly Cheesesteak w/ fries and drink for only $6.99 BLT, Mushroom swiss burger, fish & Chips, steak and gravy sandwich, BBQ sandwich, plus much much more. They even have a breakfast menu available that include eggs with Sausage / bacon / chicken / steak/ ham / tenderloin! This is definitely a go to place, as it looks family owned and run.

Had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were kind of wimpy and the sandwich was pretty good. Actual location is 2 miles from where it says it is in Yelp. Could have been cleaner.

I used to like it until the cashier was licking her fingers to count money. Kind of gross.

I rolled in there hungry enough to eat the bumper off a truck and ordered the meatloaf ciabatta sandwich with hand-cut fries, and sweet mercy... somebody's grandma must be back there running the kitchen because that thing was borderline life-changing. The meatloaf was thick, juicy, and had that "somebody's been perfecting this recipe since 1978" flavor going on. The ciabatta held it together like a champ, and those hand-cut fries? Lord have mercy. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside -- the kind you keep saying "just one more" until suddenly the basket's empty and you're thinking about ordering another. Now here's the real kicker: they've got gluten-free options, which means I can bring my wife this weekend without her looking at the menu like it personally offended her. That alone deserves a round of applause. So if you're anywhere near Buford and your stomach starts talking louder than your good sense, do yourself a favor and stop by. Just be warned: You might leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit before you even get to the parking lot.

Please note that the restaurant is open for lunch only (Monday-Friday from 11 AM-3 PM). We always place a to-go order, and our food is always ready at the time that they tell us it will be ready to pick up. Don't judge the book by the cover. The restaurant may be in a weird location, but everything that I have ever tried from the restaurant is beyond delicious, but my favorite items are the All American Burger (pro-tip: sub cheddar for their house-made pimento cheese), The Cuban Sandwich, and The Grilled Cheese with grilled onions and bacon added. So many sandwiches, like the grilled cheese, are made with their house-made "Momo Bread" which is SO yummy. Next time you're looking for lunch in Gainesville, don't hesitate to stop by or grab takeout. These guys are awesome, and I hope that one day they will open a location in a better location so that more people can enjoy the greatness of Hop's! It's by far the best! The two owners, Nick and Alison, are the reason for this. They have incredibly high standards and that's reflected in every dish - from the ingredients to the presentation. Every time, we get appetizers, entrees, and dessert (because it's all so delicious), and their cocktail menu just keeps getting better and better. It's been solid since our first visit, but over the past year they tripled the size and elevated the menu so much we think Antebellum now rivals the best cocktail spots in Atlanta! If you live in the area and haven't yet been, or if you're visiting, make a reservation - and be sure to order appetizers, mains, and dessert (and of course cocktails). There's no need to overthink what you order. Every dish and cocktail they serve is exceptional.
