Well now... let me tell y'all about a little place in Buford that flat-out surprised the socks off me -- 5 Spot Cafe. I rolled in there hungry enough to eat the bumper off a truck and ordered the meatloaf ciabatta sandwich with hand-cut fries, and sweet mercy... somebody's grandma must be back there running the kitchen because that thing was borderline life-changing. The meatloaf was thick, juicy, and had that "somebody's been perfecting this recipe since 1978" flavor going on. The ciabatta held it together like a champ, and those hand-cut fries? Lord have mercy. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside -- the kind you keep saying "just one more" until suddenly the basket's empty and you're thinking about ordering another. Now here's the real kicker: they've got gluten-free options, which means I can bring my wife this weekend without her looking at the menu like it personally offended her. That alone deserves a round of applause. So if you're anywhere near Buford and your stomach starts talking louder than your good sense, do yourself a favor and stop by. Just be warned: You might leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit before you even get to the parking lot. read more

Where do I start?? The food, the service, the owner...We stumbled upon this restaurant this morning. The owner welcomed us in and told a little bit about the food. The waitress was on top of everything during the entire meal. The food was the highlight!!! I had cream cheese French toast with fruit ( they made it gluten free for me) with perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. The coffee was great and they had real half and half (not the kind made with oil) . I have to eat GF but hubby doesn't. His meal included a home made biscuit , eggs and sausage. I can't wait to try their lunch menu!!! read more

Fast friendly service at this hidden gem that is family owned. they have a full bar when you walk in and they serve/offer the award winning ciabatta bread and partnered with the company that makes it. One of the owners sat us and told us a brief history of their restaurant and what they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. It is a casual and quaint place that decorated eloquent for a little spot to come enjoy any meal. Definitely check them out soon!!! read more

Friendly staff and owner always seems to be there so that I like to see. Food is always good and fresh. Highly recommend this establishment. Prices aee re ent on menu, you have to go to their website to see them. Kind of a pain. But I don't look at prices personally. I want good food and I want what I am in the mood for. Stopped in for lunch. It was good. The price was a little on the high side for lunch, but the portion of meatloaf I got was large. All in all it was a good meal and I was satisfied with my lunch. The staff were really nice. The burger that one of the guys I was with looked good. Nice and big with a good portion of fries. read more

We found this place on Google and thought it looked promising, but unfortunately our experience didn't live up to expectations. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, and it tasted burnt and just overall unpleasant. Our server was friendly at first, but when I politely asked if I could switch to a soda instead, her attitude noticeably changed. After that, she seemed irritated and was slamming things down on the table, which made the experience uncomfortable. The food wasn't much better. I ordered the Santa Fe omelet, which could have been good, but it was filled with large chunks of chipotle peppers that completely overpowered everything. My husband got the Monterey omelet and said it was bland and not presented well. The breakfast potatoes had an odd taste, almost like they had been frozen or sitting in the fridge too long. The only positive was my toddlers' pancakes--they were good, and we appreciated that they plated them on separate plates. Overall, it just wasn't worth the money. The food and service were both pretty underwhelming. This place definitely has potential, but right now it needs some improvement. read more

Went here for the first time last night there was six of us. Two people got the meatloaf and it was obviously reheated dry and crusty is how they described it. I got the chili mac & cheese, which was edible but certainly not anything mouthwatering. Somebody else in the party got the Thai wrap and it was basically in edible. My husband got the country fried steak and he said it was terrible. I don't know if they were just having an off night because it's our first time going, but we'll probably only try it for breakfast next time as I've heard it's good. Parents love it here so they took when I was visiting. Amazing service! Has its own kinda vibe from decorations down to menu. The food was very good from what I tried. Wait staff was on top of it. I can just never find what I want to eat when I go to places like this, but that's a personal issue. I almost hesitate to share just how good everything is because I fear that one day, it might not be the same incredible intimate experience I've come to love with no crowd at the door! . The fast, friendly service makes you want to tip generously, and today we were spoiled by Jen, our wonderful hostess. She clearly understood my request for fresh, buttery, melting pancakes, which were served steaming hot. For my meal, I chose the croissant sandwich, while my husband enjoyed an omelette. We've also had dinner here, where the meatloaf and veggies were delightful. The prices are great, providing excellent value for the quality of food and service. Being able to get in and out without a wait is definitely worth an extra tip for the servers. Everyone, including the owner, makes it a point to ensure you are well taken care of. This is a MUST try spot! We were looking for a breakfast spot while visiting Lake Lanier, and stumbled upon this place. You can order from the entire menu all day. We had the bacon wrapped plantains as an app, and they are out of this world amazing! Husband got steak and eggs which was cooked to perfection. BEYOND awful. I ordered their tomato soup. Had they put any more thickener in it, my spoon would've stood up in the bowl. I asked for crackers....the waitress said "there's no crackers". And I I asked if they were out of them, she replied "we've never had crackers". (WHAT??). My friend made comment "What restaurant sells soup and no crackers?" Her reply " well I can get you some toasted ciabatta bread" I said thank you and she brought it 5 minutes (minimum) later. However, it was rosemary ciabatta! What the heck? Very shortly I got very sick after maybe 3 or 4 spoonfuls of their soup and had to go home. But my friend who paid the bill said as we were going home "you know they charged us $2.25 for that bread"! Note: There was NO mention nor did she tell me in advance there was an additional charge for something that should've been provided in lieu of crackers. Needless to say, there's some instances when you get mediocre food and service and go back again to give a second chance, but this time...... no way. And as far as my friend's meal......well she'll have to take time to do that but it won't be any different than mine. Very sad. read more

I happened to see this place on Uber Eats and decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, I haven't been there personally so I am not too sure on the vibe of the restaurant or it's service there. The menu caught our eye so we placed our order. It is so hard sometimes to judge on speed in these situations because I don't know if it was the delivery service or the restaurant that took so so long. When our food arrived, we were slightly disappointed by the appearance, very messy and all over the place. Again though, I couldn't say if the restaurant packed it like that or our driver was not that careful. Portions were medium and the food was a little cold. Flavor, it was ok, I think that due to their menu, I was expecting something better. I would give it another chance but maybe in person the 2nd time. read more

Scott was especially rude and insulting to me today. I have an ESA animal that is traveling with me today and I called ahead of time to make sure it was ok as some restaurants do not allow them- which is totally understandable. However he was extremely rude about it and kept demanding that I tell him the medical issues that my animal supports me with. I have documentation proving that they are an ESA animal and I offered this instead but he rejected that in a completely disrespectful tone and kept trying to find out my personal medical information. Again, totally understandable if ESA animals are not permitted, but you don't have to be so incredibly rude about it. read more

Now! Let me start off saying this really is a hidden gem. I totally agree with some of the other yelpers, this spot is hidden off the road of hwy 316. 5 Spot Cafe is a husband and wife team. Join together to bring some good goodness your way. I've visited three time already and everytime I have not been disappointed. The service is fantastic along with the fresh hot food. I love whenever I order some hot tea, they bring a box assorted teas to the table for you to choose from. My food is always cooked to perfection, even if I have a specific way I want either my eggs or breakfast meat. The desert menu is always in rotation. The chef always come up with different way to entertain your taste buds for sweets. With that being said I will be back for more. Was looking for somewhere to eat after Church and Yelp lead me here. So grateful to have found this place, especially on a Sunday at 12:00 pm and there is no wait. This place has a farm"ish" type of aesthetic, cute and comfortable seating. Like I said we were immediately seated which is a ++++. I have to take a star away because this place is loud. Think of Cheesecake Factory loud. We both decided to get a Denver omelette and it was okay. I got sourdough toast and he got the biscuit. The omelette reminded me of a western omelette. It was pretty standard in taste. The waitresses did a few things that had me second guessing her actions (if you don't trust your clientele do not provide the option to pay with Apple Pay on the receipt) but overall it was an okay spot. read more

Check this place out for brunch. Large parking lot, large dining area, huge, wraparound porch with evening lighting. (Want to come back and see what it's like at night.) We were greeted right away by the friendly staff and seated at a high top booth. (One side had a foot rest the other did not, appeared to be broken off.) the food came out quickly, and was very tasty. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with grits, just the perfect amount of food. (don't get the croissant toasted, it was a little hard.) The cook on the eggs Benedict was perfect amount of runny. The fruit option as a side is typically dull, So order something else. No hard liquor, so bloody Mary's are wine based. We won't order that next time. No amount of hot sauce can change wine and vodka. All in all, I highly recommend a visit for Sunday brunch at least.
