Neither of these are great but if you go when Eldersburg Car Wash is staffed, they will pre-wash your car before it goes through helping you car get a little cleaner but still not great and no hand drying provided. My trip today was using the self serve wash. Here are my comparisons between this establishment and Liberty Car Wash. Same deposit amount to start the wash $2.50, which never provides enough time to get your vehicle cleaned (personal best is around $4). The one minute warning beep is much louder here, so you are less likely to accidentally run out of time (I've had to start over at Liberty before because I did not hear the warning). I like that ECW has a tire and bug wash not at Liberty but there are only two car mat clips - not useful unless you drive a two- seat car. I like that Liberty has vacuums next to each car wash so mats can dry while you clean under the mats and they are $0.75 vs. &1.00 at ECW that are in a different area. Overall, not much stands out. ECW does have a dog wash, which is cool to wash Fiddo.

Although I am a shade-tree mechanic, I didn't look forward to dealing with a used-car salesperson. Modern cars are complex, there's a lot that the seller can hide or overlook. I got a good feeling about the integrity of this outfit, and was willing to pay at the KBB guideline for that (AutoDot is no-haggle). Be sure the car comes with everything you expect (like a spare key, floor mats) -- you *can* ask for missing items. A week after purchase, an electric-window switch went out, AutoDot drop-shipped me the part... for an As-Is sale, they didn't have to do that, appreciated. Since then, the car has performed well. I continue to recommend AutoDot to people who don't know a lot about cars, and are looking for a 5-10 year old model that's mechanically sound, at a fair price. There was leftover disinfectant or excess UV protection that left an oily feel to the interior consoles and wheel. I left it to dry for several hours but it was still oily where I had to wipe everything down with a microfiber cloth. Several stains were not cleaned (might not have been part of the detailing package I guess). There were a couple of orange stains in the backseat that weren't there before ... maybe it happened during cleaning but it came off with a quick rub with a wet rag.
