When I did attempt to get my belongings on several occasions, I was met with a swarm of them. I stood in the parking lot visibly upset, defending myself with a broom as their employee watched from the back of the office while sitting in their vehicle. Now, as I have made my way to the back of the unit I find that my belongings have been INFESTED WITH MICE. And NO, I didn't bring them there with me. I am trying to remove my items so that I am not UPCHARGED yet another month in rent in less than 2 weeks. yay for moving mice and other pests into my clean new home. Thanks a lot Storage Mart. I would love a refund for the last month and 1/2 but seeing as their employees clearly sit and watch as their paying customers struggle with the cleanliness and safe access to the facilities, I don't expect they will handle anything of the sort. I will likely need to speak to someone who doesn't work at the facility so I am hopeful that someone from corporate reads the reviews. I have yet to assess the damage to my property. The climate control worked well, and I always felt safe. The property is gated, well lit, and has coded entry. I did notice several cameras that appeared disconnected or not working, but it never bothered me much because I otherwise felt secure. My biggest issue is with StorageMart's pricing. I chose them because the advertised rates seemed like a great deal, but the price kept increasing until it became unsustainable. What really shocked me honestly was moving day. The place was packed with people moving out, which was very unusual. We spoke with several of them, and every person we talked to was angry about the price increases. They felt ripped off and said that was why they were leaving, like us. There were also some cleanliness issues. While moving out, I found what appeared to be dead bugs and rodent droppings in my unit. Thankfully, I did not notice any obvious damage to my belongings. I hate leaving such a negative review when the actual location and on-site manager had several positives. Still, I think people choosing this place should know that the starting rate may not be what you are paying for very long. Between the constant price increases and what I found in the unit at move out, I ultimately left feeling pretty disappointed with StorageMart.
