Our brand new camper was stolen from the Wyandotte Street location last fall/winter (2024). It's in a nice area and they supposedly have security cameras but "couldn't look at the video". They are not liable they say. Read their ad below "peace of mind"! It's just the opposite. "Bright lighting" to help the thieves navigate not you! How was a large camper stolen? You need a code to enter and they have cameras. Yes we thought the same thing. Figure it out. Don't pay this place money to have your things stolen. 1 star for the scam! read more

If you're a minority do not attempt to rent from here. They will set a rental appointment with you and when you arrive on site to present your required documents and make payment the store manager will refuse service to you with the only explanation being "I don't feel this is going to be a good fit for you". DON'T RENT HERE!! I'd give it zero stars if possible. My first unit was a regular unit, but my things got so filthy I had to clean everything each time I used the things in it. Many spiders, cobwebs, bugs, and DIRT. Because of that, I moved to a climate-controlled unit. It was better as far as the dirt, but it had mice and ruined a chair that I probably shouldn't have stored there. In the Spring of 2022, we had excessive rains and my unit leaked. I noticed in May that my shelving unit had rusted and there was a hole in the ceiling right over it. See pictures. Boxes got wet and rugs got mold, so I just threw the damaged items away. I went to the office to tell them about the leak and spoke with Lincoln. She was very nice, apologized for the leak and got me moved into a dry unit at the end of the building. Same size, same rate (at least for one month my rate stayed the same). I just had the hassle of moving everything to the dry unit. The next month my rent went from $83.99 to $133.99. I was out of town dealing with a family emergency, unable to get back to KC. and my credit card was stolen. Instead of them notifying me that the credit card did not go through they slapped me with late fees and put a lock on my unit. I had been renting there since June 10, 2020 and was on auto pay. I never missed a payment. You would think I could have gotten a courtesy phone call. The old manager, Kimberly Kennedy would have absolutely done that. She was an extremely good manager who focused on customer service. I went in to talk to the 'new' manager Dan to tell him that Lincoln assured me that I would stay at the same rate. I spoke to one of the rudest people I have ever worked with. Mind you, he wasn't even there in May, but he said...'we have no evidence that there was ever a leak', and this is your new rate for your 'new' unit. I wasn't even filing a claim with them about the damage and can't imagine what that would have been like. I told him I wanted to speak to his regional manager, "Ben" and it was like speaking to his twin. 'We have no evidence there was a leak and we don't notify you if payment doesn't go through. I don't like being called a liar, especially by 2 men (one who wasn't even employed there at the time) and the other who never saw my unit, or the damage. I am posting pictures of the hole in the ceiling where the water came in and down the corner of a silver shelving unit that was under the leak. I am finally back in town to get my things moved out...but I still didn't escape another rate increase... 10 months after the last increase, to $208.99. That is my last and final payment EVER to Storage Mart. I cannot do business with a company like this. Bottom line...if you like bugs, dirt, mice, and water in your unit...if you like ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, rate increases and extra fees tacked on to your monthly, and if you like being called a liar, well, this is the storage place for you! read more

Dan or Dave, nevertheless, was accommodating--excellent site and easy to access. We found a pull-through for our 26-foot RV and are very happy with the pricing and location. I rarely give five stars. In this case, this very good climate controlled storage mart, combined with the helpfulness of Tyler Davis, has caused me to make a rare exception. Tyler appears to understand the lock and store concept, how it can last forever, or also change Day to day. This storage mart, with Tyler, really appears to want to meet your needs. This place is fantastic. Tyler is the manager and I've always found him knowledgable and personable. We've had our storage unit for about seven months with no problems. Once when I mistakenly forgot to put the lock on properly, Tyler called me to tell me about the problem and I ran over to fix it. I call that real customer service. It was great.
