Loved it. Friendly spot serving great hand dipped ice cream cones and sundaes n a town that's well worth pulling of the freeway for. Highly recommended. They also had good cookies and baked goods and a selection of home made fudge (didn't try, but looked great).

An adorable ice cream shop! It has a lot of different flavors, as well as catering to those who have some food restrictions. The prices were fair and the servers were kind and enjoyable to interact with. There was a lot of good seating and it was a cozy and relaxing vibe. It was very clean and organized, and the girls working did their closing duties in a way that wouldn't be noticed if you 1) weren't paying attention and 2) never worked in food service. All that to say that even though we went in close to closing, the store was already clean and the workers were on top of cleaning as soon as people left. It was a wonderful date night and a beautiful location.

Was real good ice cream but not creamy and smooth texture that we prefer. Actually, flavor was pretty weak also. But...yes we'll likely return for further testing!

The Ole Time Ice Cream Shoppe. Enjoyed the Praline Pecan. Looking for the "Hometown Secret" spot? This is it.

Alas- it was one of the worst eating experiences on our 2 week road trip. Biggest problem- only one server for the entire place and she had to do it all except for actually running the grill. She did try, but could not keep up with a full house on a Friday night for dinner. Took her 10 minutes just to bring menus, and at least a half hour to get food to us. When food was brought out we had an item missing- a shake that was never made or brought to the table even 45 minutes after ordering it. The Philly cheese steak was cold and had clearly been made and stood for some time before being brought out. The BLT was cold, as was the chilli. The chicken on the chicken salad had also clearly sat for quite a while before being delivered to the table. Another big problem was cleanliness. The floor was dirty. The room had flies buzzing around. At one point the server dropped a tray of coffee mugs and clearly broke several. She didn't sweep them up. A few minutes later, a busser came out from the back and kicked a broken piece of cup along the floor. He just left it there rather than picking it up. It was still there in the middle of the floor when we left. They did remove the shake that never came and the 2 items that were cold and not eaten from the bill. I think the server was doing her best but only so much one person can do.

We were driving across country and decided to pull over in North Platte for the evening. I looked…read morefor a restaurant recommendation and found The Cedar Room. We walked in and there are two large rooms, one dining and one bar/dining area. There is a small bar at the far end that sits around 6 or seven people. We were sat near the window and our server was Penny who was excellent. Penny constantly checked in with us and we were never left wait for service. When it came to ordering wine/cocktails, we were immediately put off by the price of wine. The bottles have an approximate 75% mark up on retail. Way overpriced. You don't see these prices even in the most expensive of steakhouses in my opinion. A glass of wine was the price of a bottle at retail. We elected to go with cocktails. For appetizers, we ordered the Wild Mushroom Brie & Ciabatta. $19 Seared Brie Cheese, brandy glazed belle mushrooms, balsamic reduction, fig chutney; served with Ciabatta toast points. This was good. Cowboy Calamari. $19 Breaded Flat iron sirloin steak bites, fried; served with gravy. I was so looking forward to these but I couldn't even taste the meat.....at all! They were so overly breaded and the steak cut so thin that we felt we were just eating the breading. The gravy was tasty but we couldn't finish the steak bites as we just didn't taste any steak. We split a Cedar Room Wedge. $16 Iceberg, bacon bits, tomatoes, cucumbers, blue cheese crumbles; served with dressing of choice. They split it on two plates and basically did a deconstructed salad. It was fine. After not having a great experience with the food and prices of their wine, we elected to leave and skip the dinner. Although we loved our server Penny and it was a cute establishment, we probably would not return.
