I know it's fast food, and I'm not sure I've ever given a one star review, so I hope the feedback supports needed training or more staff or what's is needed. We stopped here on our way to Chicago because we know what to expect and enjoy a Sonic drink there were three of us, and we all got food that was room temperature at best and in the case of the corn dog and Taylor tots was closer to cold. I ate 2 Taylor tots and not even half of my corn dog and threw the rest out. My daughter couldn't finish her chicken nuggets and my husband finished his Chile dog only because we have a long road ahead of us and he was hungry. The Dr. Pepper was perfect. The order took at least 15 minutes and then to get it cold was disappointing as who doesn't love a hot corn dog once in awhile. read more

Literally the most rude lady talking to me at the drive through and making me feel belittled for not knowing what they call their mixers and mistakenly called it a blizzard. I thought there was new management there or something and thought it would be a more enjoyable atmosphere. Every time I give this Sonic a chance, I always regret it. The employees are generally unprofessional and rude. The stalls are never open, but good luck figuring that out for yourself. If you're lucky enough for them to come tell you, there's a 50/50 chance they'll get snarky about it. Demanding you order in the drive thru. The last time I went there no one was even wearing a uniform. Just whatever they wear around the house, apparently. The food is hit or miss. The ice cream quality is inconsistent and Blasts often aren't mixed well and have barely any toppings. I don't accept the "understaffed" excuses either, because plenty of other places in town maintain a decent staff level and can manage adequate service despite the tough time finding employees. I generally love Sonic and my family was thrilled to see this one as we were traveling home to Arizona. Unfortunately, this was far the worst service I have ever received ANYWHERE. Not only did we wait close to 30 minutes in the drive thru (the only way to order as they weren't taking orders to bring out due to understaffing and no notice), but my order was wrong. When I asked the woman at the counter to please correct it, she told me to pull out of line and they'd get to me when they could. I told her no thank you, I would wait where I was. Her manager (I'm assuming) came out and told me to leave, that they wouldn't be serving me because I was rude. She said they would be refunding my items that they weren't giving me, but that has yet to happen. Justine - the manager who told me to leave - told me that when she read the order back to me, I said everything was correct, so any errors were my fault, not her's. She was actually the person on the speaker, taking the orders. I ordered a kid's meal with a plain burger and received a burger with everything on it. On my receipt, it says burger plain. On top of that, the food we did receive wasn't hot or fresh. Mostly cold and we ended up having to get food later down the road because this was inedible and my 8 year old didn't get her food at all. Yes we had to wait a little bit for our food....had 4-5 cars infront of us and 2 drove off without their order but when we got to the window, the lady was very friendly & didn't show any frustration. Give people a break, times are hard right now in the world between the economy going to crap and so many people not working right now. If zero stars was an option that's what I would give this place. They were "understaffed" according to the employee at the window, so they were only allowing drive-through. But they had no sign out indicating that so everybody pulled into a spot just to be turned away. The drive through took so long that most people left before paying or picking up their order. Firstly waited in line behind ONE car for over 20 minutes and then when ordering they made me wait forever to even order. They then got both of my drinks wrong and I kindly told them they were wrong and the girl was super rude and yelled at me saying only two people were working. We went through the drive through and ordered 2 strawberry limeades, a cherry limeade and 2 lemonades and a pretzel twist. We got through the window and the kid was already rude and after he gave us 4/5 drinks and the pretzel we told him we were missing a drink and he said "didn't I already give it to you?" I just waited 10+ minutes for a cold burger because, "they can't run it out." Not only that, 4 cars behind me all left because the menu on the app is not even accurate. This sonic takes 1st prize for being the worst sonic in existence. The service was slow and the employees seemed rude and offbeat. Both of the times I visited, the drive-in stalls weren't being used for their proper use (or at all) and took up to fifteen minutes to get a reply. While just passing through NP I was hoping to get a quick treat, so I picked up my phone and put in an order. Upon arrival, my order should have been ready to go, but to my surprise it was not. I waited ten minutes before pressing the red button to question my order. When I finally got a reply, I was NOT happy. They have the audacity to tell me that they aren't using the stalls and that I would have to pull around to the menu. Thirty minutes and no apology later, I have a slushy in hand. Everybody deserves a second chance and I was craving a strawberry slushy. I placed my order online to ensure a speedy transaction. When I arrived I saw some employees outside and knew for certain I could use the stalls...(or so I thought). I pulled all the way around to the west side stalls (which apparently are used for employee parking). I pushed the red button right away to make sure my first incident didn't happen again. I guess the button doesn't matter because I sat and waited for fifteen minutes before a reply told me to pull to the east side of the building. Normally I'd drive off, but I had already paid for my order via. Sonic App. Now in a east side stall, I sat and waited another whopping ten minutes as the flashing red light mocked me. Moments later I was met face to face to be sadly informed that they were out of strawberry. At this moment, there was nothing I could do but wait. As I waited I notice multiple other orders being taken out instead of them going back and fixing mine right away. Forty-five minutes later I left with no coupons, no apology, and a different flavored slushy then I even wanted. Some type of action needs to take place because this sonic is a disgrace to the name. A change of management and a visit from corporate would probably be a good starting point. My recommendation to anybody wanting to stop here would be "don't". read more

While this is one of my Top 10 favorite chains, the store in North Platte is a train wreak (no pun intended, considering...)! We placed a very specific order of three sandwiches, each very different. My wife and I live here but have not been to this Sonic for a few months. On Sunday November 26 we went to eat here after going shopping. There were only a few cars in the parking lot when we got there and there was 1 or 2 more that came in after us but it took forever to get our food. We took our food home because we were tired. I made the mistake of ordering a chocolate milk shake, as I was drinking it I started finding little chunks of what t like wax in my shake. The only thing I can think of is that someone forgot to clean the ice cream machine. We will never go back, that was the nastiest food we have ever had!!! read more

I used to come to sonic all the time for their half priced drink happy hour. It's a great deal but the employee 229 Mona has ruined the experience on 2 separate occasions, she has a rude attitude and doesn't know a thing about customer service, if she is working when I go in for now on I will just leave and I suggest anyone else do the same. read more
