Is the parking lot a little janky and questionable? Yes. Will you get a good price on your Asian store run? Also yes. They have a deli area that has grab and go meals (honestly it's a great portion to price ratio, plus their samosas are pretty good most of the time). They carry a wide variety of goods from African, Asian to Hispanic products it's a good mix. Fresh seafood in the back and a jewelery store in there too. Service is decent, they're not going to be super friendly but everyone's just minding their business and getting you out the door. Good stop for your ethnic food needs at a great price. read more

This grocery store is very expensive compare to other asian groceries stores in town. Also watch out for their Jewelry store, they sell 14k gold and claim it's 18k gold. So you'll pay for 18k gold price and when you resell it back they'll say it's 14k gold even the stamp on the jewelry say 18k and you purchase it's there, it's a scam. Be careful when you buy gold from there!!! read more

The prices on meat are some of the best I've found in the area, bread and baked goods are insanely great prices, and they have fresh fruit/vegetables constantly cycling out that give new options. Been going weekly/semi-weekly for a few months now as I live nearby, and despite the service being about on-par with Walmart it has been satisfying. Fellow costumers have also been nice and seem to enjoy their time as well. read more

This is a fantastic place to get a good hot meal. The staff is friendly and the prices are pretty darn good. Like most places that have fresh fish it does stink but I don't mind that smell. The only food I do not recommend here is any hot food with shrimp in it. It's always dry, tasteless and the consistency of rubber. But they have fresh food most days including awesome spring rolls and Bahn mi. Their chicken pad Thai is fantastic! I highly recommend you stop by and check this place out for yourself. read more

Why would you want to spend more money at Whole Foods or Cub produce when it is CHEAPER here?! This is my to go place for cheap fruits and vegetables. You just have to wash the produce again because sometimes they don't really clean it well. I like getting shrimp, fish, and other seafood meat here because they are inexpensive. I believe they have live lobster here too ( or maybe at the other location, Dragon Star). There's a deli inside. They have variety of selections of ethnic food: fried plantains, sesame balls, fried tilapia, pad thai, soup, and selections of stir-fry. (ok, I am going to tell you something about the deli...make sure you take notes...around 6:30 they mark their deli food down to $1! Let's say you arrive at 6 and you really want the fried tilapia, sausages, sesame balls or etc and they are still marked regular prices...grab them! Go shop or walk around the store until 6:30 and come back to the deli till you see a lady with a price gun and have her adjusted your price:)) Here are couple warnings when you come here, when you buy canned products make sure you check the expirations. There are a lot of them that I found on my canned coconut drinks :( This place is not well organized, a lot of products are everywhere. You will spend a lot of time looking for a certain product. Parking is kinda scary, aggresive drivers/customers. If you have a nice car, park far..well not too far because it is not located in the greatest neighborhood. This place had all the bells and whistles. It's a super market. You can get dishes, houseplants, purses. Very well organized with multiple brands of compatible items. There is a large variety of fruits and vegetables, even ones that are not accessible at American grocery stores. I like their boxed snack cookies. Fully staffed. Which is amazing. No bs pricing. You know what everything costs and there are clearance items. read more

Looking for food on Christmas day? We were going down Rice Street, hoping to find a Chinese restaurant just like the people on TV. We passed several Chinese restaurants on Rice, and every one of them was closed. (Once again, real life is not like on TV.) But then, at Rice and Maryland we saw a crowded parking lot with people milling about. Double Dragon Foods has a deli with a variety of choices from fried plantain and fried tilapia for those who want ethnic food, to fried chicken for those who don't. For Christmas lunch we had pad thai, a Chinese broccoli and pork dish, and another dish with baby corn, carrots, and chicken. (There were no labels on the food, and the person behind the counter spoke limited English.) For $12 we had quite a feast for two, and plenty of leftovers. The food was solidly good. There was a little cartilage in the pork broccoli dish, but they made an effort to pack as much food as possible into the containers. This place gets an extra star because they were open on a holiday, and seemed to have a strong community following. Some workers were shaving papaya, presumably for salad, so it appears they make the food on-site. The grocery aisles were stocked with foods catering to a variety of ethnic communities, not just Southeast Asian. Double Dragon turned out to be a much better value in terms of cost and nutrition over Mickey D's down the street, which is also open Christmas day this year. It was also a more interesting shopping experience than getting Chinese takeout. The sign by the deli announced that they are also open on New Year's day, so I might head back there next week to try the curries and sesame balls. Great place for meats, seafood, fresh vegetables and herbs, rice, and hard to find Asian ingredients. Not so great for packaged non-Asian foods, dairy, or steak cuts you recognize. For example, if you know what a whole beef knuckle is, this is a good place to get one to butcher at home. (It's not really a knuckle.) If you are looking for a T-bone or a strip steak, it's not your place unless maybe you can get a butcher to cut one for you. They do have butchers, which is a BIG plus in the age of butcher = guy who merchandises stuff that's already been cut somewhere else. Meat, seafood, and most veg prices are significantly cheaper and of better quality than a supermarket. I do think Sun Foods on Uni has a better selection (they are still my go-to for fresh kale when I want to make dirt juice) and advantage of the summer market in the parking lot but Double Dragon is quite good. Not so hot on their deli myself. I may try that $1 trick another reviewer posted some time. If you can go in the morning or midday, it's much easier. After working hours lines get very long and it becomes impossible to find a parking space. read more

This grocery store is alright. I gave it a 3 star rating bc the aisles are cramped, they hardly ever have ground pork, they don't have as big of a variety as other Asian markets. Also, their cashiers don't ever greet anyone with a smile and ask "how are you?" like other grocery stores. It feels unwelcoming to me. Their fawn kauv is soggy and mushy. At least they add in a little bit more meat than Golden Harvest but definitely not worth the price. But the up side is that majority of their products are cheaper than Golden Harvest. I found this store in February 2014 and thought I finally found a decent, authentic Asian market. It was clean and bright an despite selling fish and other seafood, it didn't smell. The produce seemed fresh too. They had every kind of live "bamboo" there is. The hot deli looked awesome and a person behind the deli counter was pumping out bubble tea's! The aisles were well organized and neat. Unfortunately, I only had enough time to grab a spring roll with a promise to take a few hours off work and go back. I did go back in April 2014. As soon as I went in I was assaulted by the worst smell ever. I have been in other Asian markets that sell fish so I tried to just ignore how strong it was. Once through the door, I thought I went to the wrong place. Not only did it "feel" different but it looked like night and day from just 6 weeks before. Browsing through the produce, I picked up a Pomelo and turned if over. Solid mold. All of the beautiful bamboo plants were still there but were dead or dying. The deli items looked dicey at best but I thought a bubble tea would be pretty safe. The lady behind the counter couldn't/didn't know how make one! I bought some frozen calamari, ignoring the stench in the freezer and on the bag. On the ride home, I was able to fully analyze my visit to this market. By the time I got home, I realized how really bad the experience and the store itself was. I threw 2 hot deli items, the 2 dragon fruit and a couple of other items. And that smell was embedded in my clothes and hair. I'm gagging just thinking about it. What the heck happened in those 6 weeks? So disappointed. read more

We got meat that at the time was frozen. When we got home and started cleaning it we saw it was rotten. You could smash the meat with you fingers into mush. We brought it back. They told us to get some new stuff after having to discuss the situation with them. But when we went back we saw that everything they had back there was exactly the same. They never took it off the shelf and did not want to try to get us anything different. We then ask them to get something out of the freezer or give us something that was fresh which they claim they didn't have. Then somebody went and got us some Frozen but when we got home we found out it was the exact same way. We had now been to the store two times already, this would have been a third time. And they only wanted to replace the two packages of meat that were bad and said of all of the groceries that we now had to throw away due to the fact that we had waited so long to make what we were trying to make they also did not care that we did not live in the area and had to drive a third time to this grocery store within 12 hours. We went back a 3rd time and they are still selling the same meat they sold to us. Thats just gross! We never got our money back! read more
