I will not be back which is unfortunate because this used to be one of the better local places to me. I ordered 2 egg drop soups, beef fried rice, chicken lo mein combo platter with fried rice and 2 pork egg rolls. Lets start with the egg drop soup - it was NASTY! My partner felt the same and he can drink egg drop with a straw but yet he didn't finish it and my stomach immediatley felt queesy after a few bites, it was very gelatinoius like the eggs werent cooked right - it was like swalling thick yolks. The fried rice didn't matter whether it was beef or the one with the chicken lo mein it was a darker color than usual and lacking flavor. The egg rolls were fine and the lo mein did have a nice flavor however. The service was okay - a welcome smile and greeting when I entered but I ordered online and think it's getting rather pricey compared to the quality I recieved. Sunday is complicated. Basically, our go to dinner spots are crowded or closed. In a Hail Mary fashion, we ask Yelp for a quick, decent, Chinese restaurant in our area. Segue to our arrival at Double Dragon ll. Ironically, there are two kids playing video games on their phones. Other than that, the place is empty. Yikes! It's a small, quaint little Chinese take-out with a few tables for dine-in. I suspect we are among the very few that stay. The place is pretty popular with the carry-out crowd and the delivery apps. They just kept coming. It's always nice when you discover places that you're almost afraid to walk into end up providing a great experience. We really enjoyed our Orange Chicken and Sesame Chicken dinners, although it's been awhile since I've had yellow rice substituted for chicken fried (I'm pretty sure this wasn't fried, either). The sauce was a bit sweet, but now I'm nit picking. The chicken was fine and the egg roll was tasty. I'm not going to blow sunshine your way, this is as good if not a bit better than the food court at the mall. But it's cheap and it eats good. Got delivery via Uber Eats as lots of people had recommended this place. Let me start by saying they are VERY generous with the food. One dinner entree will feed two people. The hot and sour was soup was some of the best I've ever had, and I'm picky about it. I also ordered the garlic chicken, which was described as spicy. We ordered takeout from Double Dragon on DoorDash last night. It was pretty much everything you could want from takeout Chinese food. The fried rice was a nuclear yellow color, and tasted good. Crab Rangoon was triangle shape. I prefer the more purse shaped 'goons but these'll do just fine. The General knew what he was up to with that chicken. The pad Thai didn't have enough flavor, but that's on me for ordering it instead of another staple chicken item (your sesame, your cashew, you know the varieties). Egg rolls were crispy. Wish they provided hot mustard, but we failed to request it. The food arrived very quickly, and the portion sizes were generous. Appreciated the good service. Service is fast, and the dining area is clean the handful of times I've eaten there with my friends (the dining area is small and the largest table has 4 chairs, it's not really a place you plan to eat in at). It was all delicious and prepared fairly quickly. Standing in the lobby reminded me of busy Chinese restaurants I have been to in NYC. Not heavy on the decor, but focused on the flavor of food. Everything about was your standard chinese carryout fare. The fried wontons were decent, but nothing mind-blowing. I thought the quantity was generous for this dish. The egg roll however, was tiny (though it was only $1.50. The flavor was fine, however. The lo mein was also a generous portion and overall I had enough food for a few meals. It has the same similar menu format as most Chinese carryouts. It has a small vegetarian section. The Szechuan Bean Curd is mildly spicy. It's about $7 for the lunch portion. This is a lot of food for the price, so you do get your money's worth. It has big pieces of tofu cooked firmly. This item is usually the soggy tofu at other Chinese restaurants. I've been delivering for this place for a while now but I've never tried it till today. The Decour in the place is just a bit plain but the food is quite good. All the prices are very reasonable and you can get a small or large portion(pint or quart). Today I went with the steam dumplings and white rice. They cook the food in big woks basically right in front of you. The dumplings were quite nice very traditional, the white rice was very sticky and good! Since I am a big fan of Oriental food I will be returning eventually to try other Eats here! read more
