I was looking for a very specific tree as a gift for a friend with no luck until I called The Brothers. They had a bare root specimen of the exact tree I was looking for at a GREAT price! This is way more than a greenhouse. It's a very large nursery with a huge selection of indoor plants, gardening supple and tools, as well as a huge variety of landscape plants. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and patient as well as we selected THE tree. Helped us wrap it and load it. I can report that the tree is in the ground at our friend's house, has leafed out and looks great! Give them a look!

We purchased a soil testing kit which is yet to be determined on what our results are but once we get a chance we will utilize it and see what needs to be done. We have been here several times in the past and always liked their plant selection and statuary and other ornaments you can use for your yard. They have some very nice windchimes in which we want to get sometime... ones with a deep resonating sound and they do have ones here that look to be of good quality! I don't know if they still do it and I am thinking if memory serves you can chicks here in the Spring. Super cute little chickens! We'd love to have some but aren't quite ready to take on more pets but perhaps someday!

The pumpkin walk led us along a small path through a wooded area just behind the parking lot, where over 250 pumpkins were painted/decorated in a variety of themes and displayed for us to enjoy on our meandering walk. We were allowed to take photos and others coming through patiently gave us the space to do so. The staff we briefly interacted with were friendly and so excited to see us all decked out in costumes for this Halloween-inspired walk. They decorated the plants, trees and gourds around the nursery, making for a fun experience all around.

Surprisingly staff not very knowledgeable or friendly about gardening and coffee shop expensive…read moremistake. Came in with my mom to get some help with spring plants and gardening tools. Went to the help desk, asked about specific plants. The staff person just pointed and said, "go in there" to the greenhouse. Went there, was told, we just sell houseplants in here, go outside through the automatic doors". Went outside, no one, not one person out there. We walked around for a bit, still no one. Gave up and decided we could find help online and at another nursery. The coffee shop. Great idea, poorly managed. Saw some senior group had taken all but two tables and a couple of chairs for their get together. I found two chairs against the wall for my mom and I, but no tables. Made our order, sandwich and egg bites- they are brought in prepackaged from an outside company. I had to walk back and forth from my chair to the coffee counter to check on our drinks and warmed up sandwiches. After 20 minutes, have one drink and cold sandwiches. Had to go back since they forgot a drink. We ate a few bites of our sandwiches- threw away the rest. No more interest in getting the order right. Also saw one of the staff people counting out cash onto the counter next to the coffee machine. Cash and coin I believe should not be placed on counter space next to food or drink prep?

I am beyond disappointed with Purdy Topsoil & Gravel; They…read morecame highly recommended and so I placed a call and explained I needed good soil for my raised beds vegetable gardens, what do you have/recommend? I was told that with tax, a yard of their very good garden soil would be approximately $29. Ok, I will be in next week. After arriving and talking with staff, the clerk said to me that this is for flower beds, correct? No, it is for food for my family fir vegetables. She then told me that the soil I was going to purchase would not support food growth... I was then told: "We have our compost blend and we also mix our compost with steer manure compost and fish compost and it is twice the price." I then decided to buy two yards. The next morning I was surprised to find that my son had filled my garden beds for me, but there is all kinds if 'stuff' in the dirt! I easily gathered a 1/2 baggie of pieces of plastic in clear, white, blue, black, red, another blue,... along with pieces of painted metal i. Blue, red, black, green, dark blue, bright blue, white, etc... -along with treated 'Beauty Bark'... I took the baggie half filled with the debris and my receipt... The Manager was not in and would call- and THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME BACK MY RECEIPT! They also kept the baggie, which I wanted them to see as unfortunately I can easily gather more. I was then informed by the two women working behind the counter that they get their compost from the Pierce County Dump! Excuse Me?! When an employee informs me that WE make OUR with premium compost, OUR steer manure compost, and OUR fish compost; I don not get the impression that you receive it from the Pierce County Landfill!!?? I specifically asked and was given an answer of: WE make OUR with OUR WE MAKE... Had I been properly informed of the compost origins, I would absolutely NOT have purchased ANY product originating from ANY Landfill project. Today marks two weeks since I drove there again, and asked to speak to the Manager. I called yet again today, Monday June 10, 2024 and wouldn't ya know, the manager just stepped out and will call me back.
