I have been waiting a long time to write this review of DoubleTake Auto Spa. Here's the story: I took my 1992 Honda (Acura) NSX here based on the reviews in February of last year (2018) for Ceramic Pro Life, paint correction and interior protection. I met up with Sandra (the owner) for a quote and once that was settled I set a date to leave my car with them for a week and then did so. After picking up the car (which is black) I was ecstatic. The car looked almost like a mirror, and any surface blemish or swirl mark was gone. I originally went with Ceramic coat because while i'm not lazy black cars are very high maintenance and show everything from dust to light swirls. I was starting to feel like my car owned me not the other way around for the constant maintenance cleanings. Fast forward to September of 2018 and the car is having problems with its coating. There are swirl marks everywhere even though I am a careful two bucket washer, and blow dry my car when drying. I let Sandra know that I have an event (NSXPO 2018 in SF) coming up and that I believe something has failed with the ceramic coat. The car does NOT look good, and seems to have lost it's hydrophobic qualities. Since I am on such a tight time budget Sandra suggests bringing it in for a quick polish before the Expo, which I do and am thankful for. After NSXPO Sandra tells me to set up a time to correct the ceramic coating. We think the reason it failed was that I put a car cover initially which didn't allow for the coating to cure, on top of the wet conditions we've had in CA. So finally last week (the beginning of April) I dropped off my car to have it paint corrected (again) and re-ceramic coat. I just received it back a couple of days ago and I am so happy. The weather seems to be cooperating and has given me a few days of sun to get it cured. Sandra also uses heat lamps for curing but we think my experience was a fluke given all the conditions, and me not knowing about not using a car cover for the first few weeks. That being said here is the bottom line. DoubleTake Auto Spa are owned by hard working people who care about their customers satisfaction, and have integrity and ethics. A somewhat rare trait these days in the Bay Area. I've spoken to other customers of DT Spa and we all agree that their work speaks for itself. The other people I have spoken to are all repeat customers and I will be back to have all my cars finished there. One last thing, my story took place over a year, not due to any undue influence just being busy. This is after all a first world problem. I know if this had occurred at some other business i'd be SOL. The reason i'm writing this review is that it's important for people to know not the easy great things that a small business does, but how said business deals with something that went wrong. Brought my car in after realizing I hadn't taken care of it since buying it 4 years ago. Called and left a message with their answering service who was a real-life person! She was able to get me that weekend which was great! At my actual appointment was fantastic. Sandra looked over my car and explained in detail what they were going to do. I felt super comfortable asking questions and pointing things out. Their location was super convenient so I was able to walk over to some stores and meet people for lunch. When I picked up my car it looked amazing. My white paint was sparkling. The interior was like-new. They got all the hard to reach places and sand that I could never get out. The employee who helped us even re-went over a few spots on my seat that I'd mentioned. I was very happy to drive away. The price was about what I had budgeted. Sandra makes pricing clear and easy to understand. The only con would be the cost, but if its a priority to have an immaculate car, you do what you do. The only other hiccup would be that the inside of my windshield was streaky/hazy but I didn't notice until I drove away so there's nothing they could do about it. This place deserves 10 stars. I have 2020 Mercedes and you would think the cars paint was flawless. After picking up my car I was amazed see pictures attached. The service was flawless from the initial phone consultation to the in person drop off. The team all made sure the chrome delete was a success and every decal was properly placed in its original setting. I drove to LA and got stuck behind a few semi trucks but did not might because I knew my car was protected. Thank you all for the 10 year paint protection. A few years back, I was hunting the internet for a car detailing service for my 2011 BMW 335D. I tried a few. The service levels and quality of work provided were mediocre or lacking. I resumed my search and came across Double Take Auto Spa. I went in and spoke with Sandra. Talk about EXCELLENT customer service. Professional. Knowledgeable. Patient with my inquiries. Knowledgeable. Comprehensive in her explanations, and did I say knowledgeable? I booked an appointment the same day and gave it a shot. The results were Impressive. Very impressive. The level of attention to detail exceeded all the other "car detailing services" I tried in the past. I visited again recently for another consultation. Sandra came out front where the car was parked to take a look at the condition of the vehicle. She complimented me for keeping in in good shape for a 11 year old ride, then asked me to move it from shade to sunlight. She started her detective work investigating the body condition for the well kept car and noticed paint discoloration on the trunk that was not visible to the naked eye. I did not see it until she showed it to me on a slant view in the sunlight. To confirm, she asked me to move the car back to share and take another look. It was visible from the angle that she wanted to to look and I was blown away. She asked me to confirm if I cleaned up any bird droppings on the area or scrubbed it with something. I did not. I was absolutely impressed. She said they would take care of it and it would be corrected. She then made recommendations about the type of detail service to get based on the condition of the paint. I booked my next appointment on the spot and will be going back to get it done. I know these machines depreciate over time. Some may think it is not worth the cost to invest in these services. However, I'm not investing in this service for vanity reasons. I want my car to last as long as possible. I don't want to buy a new car. I see it as an investment in keeping the car in its best shape (along with proper maintenance), for as long as I possibly can (barring any unfortunate event outside my control like an accident or vehicle theft). I don't usually leave reviews but I do when it's when they exceed my expectations or beyond. Let's begin with just a simple phone call. I called DoubleTake on Saturday around 12 in the afternoon and was greeted with an actual and marvelous attitude individual. They told me that Sandra (very nice and sweet lady) who's does the schedule would call me back ASAP. Not even 15 minutes later Sandra calls me asking what I'm looking for and what vehicle I have. I told her what I wanted and if I could bring my vehicle in the soonest I can. She said you can bring it in now and I was beyond happy. I showed up and Sandra was very welcoming and very kind and walked me through step by step what they were going to do with my truck. I got the white heat service and was ecstatic especially for having a white vehicle and all can I say is WOW well wow doesn't even explain how amazing, perfect, shiny the white paint appeared. It had a mirror like finish to it that's how crystal clear it was. It was smooth to the touch just like glass and how your finger just glides across the paint. After Sandra explained the whole process of what the truck was going to go through she said it was going to take 6 hours and have two workers on it. Being how giant my truck is, especially being lifted I totally understood why the long process was necessary. Sandra called me 45 minutes before my truck was supposed to be done and 45 mins later I got to DoubleTake and just like Sandra said it was done. I did my final inspection and was beyond happy with the results. My truck looked brand new, especially for not being washed in a couple months and I drive my truck all over the Bay Area to Job sites (I work in the construction trade). The truck looked Pristine just magnificent that's how amazing it turned out. DoubleTake went beyond detailing and took it to another level. I am very much the type of person who likes a clean space so my truck and car are no exception. I was paying to have someone wash my 2020 Ram Limited and 2020 Camry Hybrid every week. As you can guess that was costing me a lot of money but I chalked it up to the cost of taking care of my investments. I bought a LivingSocial deal for $175 for "The Works" package. Sounded like a good deal, until they contacted me about my appointment and said it would be extra $75 for my Nissan Rogue compact SUV. The fine print did say additional charge for "large vehicles" so fine, I guess it qualifies. That is not where my gripe is though. For $250, I'd expect an excellent job. Otherwise, I'd just go to any regular car wash place and pay a fraction of the cost and still have it look nice. Although they did clay bar the exterior and add wax, there were a lot of spots where I had to tell them at the end they needed to buff the wax out. I get it they may miss a few spots, but there were more than just a few. They did shine my tires, but not all of them. I had to tell them they missed one, but they did shine it up for me after I told them. That is not where it ends though. "The Works" package details say they clean the gas cap and tailpipe. I forgot to check it while the crew was there, but that evening when I remembered, I opened the gas cover and they did not even touch it. I looked under the car where the tailpipe was. Nope, wasn't touched either. I'm sure they would have cleaned them if I had caught those while they were there, but that's their job and they shouldn't have to have somebody constantly telling them how to do it. I trusted they would be able to get the job done that I paid them good money to do. As for the interior, it looked nice and a lot cleaner than when I handed the vehicle over to them. But upon closer inspection after they left, there were still stains in between the front seats and the center console. The rearview mirror still had a few splatters on it from when my allergies hit me and I sneeze while driving. And although my baby had spilled milk in the back seat and they did clean it up, the smell was still there. In fact, in smells even more now. I know they charge extra for odor removal but if they thoroughly shampoo the carpets and remove the stains, you figure it would at least help a bit with the odor. Definitely not in this case though. read more

I hadn't washed my car in several months, and I hadn't cleaned the interior in at least a year. It was pretty grimy and dusty. Lots of dog hair from my furry passenger, too. I had various car care products and I was going to do this myself, but the more I realized how much there was to be done with vacuuming, clay bar'ing, waxing and more, the less I wanted to do it. I started looking at mobile car washing/detailing services and DoubleTake Auto Spa had great reviews. I was able to schedule an appointment right when I wanted it. I signed up for the Platinum Detail service that includes wash, clay bar, 100% carnauba wax, tire & rim, windows, door jams, license plate and a full interior servicing. The crew was at my home a little early: I might add and I'm glad they did, because they did a much, much better job than I ever could have done. They did everything: My steering wheel looks almost brand new now, the interior looked show-room new, the wheels shined like new. The paint was the smooth to the touch and glistened like I had never seen before. I bought the car when it was four years old from a private seller, and it was in great condition, but as far as the interior goes, this is the best I've ever seen it look! The same goes for the exterior. I was awe-struck when they told me they were done and to check it out. It truly looks better then when I bought it back in 2008. I was in awe when I saw how good and thorough a job they did. When I drove it to work this morning it felt like I was driving it out of the dealership. I received multiple comments from random passerby's asking "Is it new?", "Is this the new model?" Mind you, the car is nearly 10 years young now. One thing I noticed was the rear window was missed after I was going for a drive and the sunlight hit it. Same with the glove box. I sent an e-mail to Sandra, the owner, and she was kind enough to accept my feedback and that she would relay my information to the crew. After seeing the incredible work they performed, I signed up for the bi-weekly service. When they arrived for the first bi-weekly appointment (on-time), I was immediately notified that they received the information about the areas they missed and did a fantastic job not missing a single nook or cranny. A few months ago when I had my Acura TL I brought it here to have my engine cleaned. They did a great job, so I decided to come back and have some paint correction done on my new car that I traded the Acura in for. The previous owner really neglected the paint. Had so many swirls marks and a few deep scratches due to improper washing. It took about 11 hours to do a 2 stage paint correction and ceramic coating and I am very happy with the outcome. They are a fabulous business who really cares about your car. You cannot go wrong with them. Initially got an appointment for a 3M hood wrap of my new Model 3, but unfortunately couldn't take it to them till about 6-8 weeks after delivery. Sandra was very patient and she set my expectations correct, noting already chipped areas and dust bubbles which cannot be fixed by them. Overall they were honest and up front about the results and I got the hood wrapped from them. As soon as I drove off after completion, within couple of hours someone in the parking lot badly scratched and slightly dented the front bumper, but the wrap by these guys were impeccable and the damage done slowly healed over few days. During the follow up appointment they completely healed the scratches by pouring hot water and even cleaned up the interior!! Like I said you cannot go wrong with these guys! read more

I always have the feeling that they care more about my car than what I do ;) They're great at giving advice for how to care about my car. Had DTAS back out to tackle my wife's F250 pick up truck. This truck is used on a horse ranch, so it gets hit with lots of things, more so than just driving around the city. It's an all white, four door, with an 8 foot bed, and cover. The crew did a great job again. The exterior was very smooth, and well waxed. Not a spot on it. Rims cleaned, tired cleaned. The interior was a little harder - they found dirt where they didn't think they be able to clean. Got it all! Now we can use it as a cowboy limo...for a week.
