I've stayed at a number of different DoubleTrees in a number of different states. In almost all of my previous visits to a DoubleTree, I've found them to be 4-star properties. This particular DoubleTree was nice but not quite up to a 4-star rating. GOOD - the hotel (and the room) was generally clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet. We got a great nights sleep. The front desk staff - both when we checked in and the next morning were pleasant, personable and professional. THE NOT SO GOOD - we had looked at booking online but decided to call the hotel directly. The man who answered the phone was NOT pleasant, personable or professional. When we asked about booking 2 rooms for 2 nights, he rather curtly replied - we don't have any rooms available. So, we went online and booked. My sister called the hotel later the same day - also requesting 2 rooms for 2 nights and was able to book the rooms. The bathroom was poorly stocked. We had to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper. In addition, you got 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels - no wash cloths (face cloths). Also, during a 2-night stay, your doesn't get serviced at all. I don't need fresh bed linens for a 2- night stay but fresh towels would be nice, especially considering the humidity in Georgia. In the span of 24 hours, my towel was still damp from the day before. Overall, a decent experience. Just not DoubleTree's normal 4-star rating. read more

"Three Star Hotel" but I've had better experiences in lower rated hotels. Seriously the only reason this place has "three stars" is because it's not a motel and because it's got the Hilton name attached. Don't come here hoping for clean towels. Housekeeping has their phone disconnected and there is no option to call the front desk. I asked for clean towels at the desk, again a few hours later when I saw a housekeeper in the hallway (she was SO rude!) and come 10pm we still weren't able to shower. The quiet hours aren't enforced.. I was constantly woken up from barking dogs, partying college kids, arguments, and the smell of marijuana. The elevators don't work. The AC doesn't work half the time. The showers are poorly designed. The whole place is dirty. Our floors were sticky and there were handprints all over our window but the worst of all - our toilet wasn't clean. The restaurant is a joke, it's like an Applebees running at half capacity with 5x the prices. The breakfast buffet is also a joke. The pool area would have been nice if it wasn't for the towel fiasco. Don't let the warm cookie on check-in fool you... you're better off almost anywhere else. read more

We arrived and was greeted by a really nice staff person. She had that friendly southern accent that feels like you talking to a family member. She gave us water and warm cookies which was perfect because I was exhausted from the long drive. We went to our room on the 4th floor which was one of the newly renovated room. It was so clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. AC in the room worked perfectly. I was freezing but my husband was nice and comfortable. We didn't have any problems at check in or check out. They didn't have free breakfast so we didn't stay for breakfast. read more

Expensive AF Uncomfortable AF Pictures tell the story about this place. In the lobby they show you what the remodeled furnishings look like. Well, that's all fine and good, however the little details such as a towel rack, or towel hooks, or a rug underneath your feet are missing. What should be missing is the mold filled in the track of the shower door, and clearly is accounted for, and present;( Eeeewweee, gross! Skip this place. read more

Front desk representative was welcoming and friendly. However, the bathroom in our room possibly wasn't cleaned. There was a small amount of toilet paper on the roll with no other roll available. I had to call the front desk to get another roll. They brought it to me and I thanked them as the representative said, "You're welcome." Not an apology. Also, the floor had hair on the floor- more than a few strands. It would e nice if their bathrooms had exhaust fans. read more

Roof leaks on top floor. Asked for towels and got them warm out of the dryer about three hours later. There were no maids coming to our room the whole stay. They just clean rooms that people leave. Went into the restaurant and waited about twenty five minutes. After not getting a waitress my husband got up and went to the bar and the bar maid left. After he sat back down she came out and told another person who tried to venture to the bar that all the draft beers were out. There were about 10 places where previous patrons were sitting at the bar that hadn't been cleaned. All the bartenders wines and mixes were out of the color and sitting on the bar. The place seemed empty. We just gave up and left. This place was a disaster from beginning to end. We asked multiple times for a do not disturb door hanger and no one had any. Not the maids in the halls, not the front desk. Hilton should be ashamed to have their name on this place. read more

I'll start off with the staff was super friendly, from checking in/ out, and house keeping helping us into our room. Now the cleanliness off the room is another story. My son noticed an empty Fireball bottle under the desk chair, the bathroom sink was dirty, broken shower stopper and very dusty table in the room. We arrived to the hotel and the minute we entered the room it was horrible. The room was 90 degrees, my tub and sink flooded, and the breakfast was horrible. They didn't have a luggage carry to make it convience for the customers. I reported the issue to the front desk clerk, mananger and cleaning crew. I wanted my money back and they refused. This hotel was renovated but it needs more work and hire new staff. This was by far the worst experience. The sad part is we was here for a family reunion, and we all had the same story concerning the rooms and staff memebers. The hotel staff doesn't care at all. Please be aware and don't stay here it is downright terrible. Please by pass this hotel and find an airbnb trust me you will thank me later. read more

I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. At first glance it appears to be clean and orderly however, if you look closer there is mold throughout the building. The facility is dated and likely needs to address some moisture issues throughout the building. I was disgusted when I found a thick patch of mold on the bathroom mirror. It was confusing because there was a sticker on the door that was supposed to reassure you that the room had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. I'm assuming that there is some spot cleaning going on. I will never stay in this hotel again. read more

I was really surprised to find how clean / neat this doubletree was! It's very well kept and in pristine condition. The precautions they've taken during COVID made me feel very safe but that I was still getting my money's worth in as far as available amenities during my stay(s). The hotel is in fabulous condition, it's much nicer than the average double tree and everything from lobby to hotel room is spotless! The bathrooms are rather small though-- I would prefer a little bit larger bathroom size but there's plenty of counter space and a large mirror and ample sized shower. The beds are very comfortable and there's plenty of space inside the rooms. I love that there is a Lysol sticker on the door when you come in the first time during COVID precautions because it definitely gives you peace of mind knowing your room has been cleaned and sealed! read more

Just arrived to find that the TV didn't work, the phone doesn't work and the desk chair is way too low and doesn't adjust, making it impossible to work at the desk comfortably. They brought in another TV that works but they just said "they know the chairs are too low for the desks, but that is all they have and the owner won't replace them." The hotel lobby looks good but the rooms are tired. If I wasn't so tired, I would go find another hotel tonight. Staff was nice, Bed was comfortable, towels were nice. Not a total loss, but the hotel needs some TLC. read more

However during my two week stay room was only cleaned once, towels changed once and trash taken out once, all on my last day at the hotel. Going to check out early before my flight. I had a reservation for multiple days and my room was never cleaned. I let the front desk know daily that my room was not cleaned and they offered to give me fresh towels that never came. The soap dish in the bathroom was broken so the soap fell through and when I picked it up, it was covered in someone else's hair. There were also dirty towels in the dresser drawer when I arrived. I let the front desk know and they were nice but basically said "I'm sorry, we hope you'll come back" and then they dismissed me. read more

If you're not familiar with DoubleTree as a brand the deal is: basic hotel with a special cookie given out daily. While the entrance of this hotel looks updated, the rooms, hallways, and the rest of the building need some attention. The carpets in the hallway and the furniture in the room looked pretty shabby and in need of repair. This hotel has all the same rooms, there are no suites. So if you are a Hilton Honors elite member you should be placed in a room on the 4th or 5th floor designated for Hilton Honors. The rooms are no different from the ones on floors 1-3. It would be great if Hilton would remodel this hotel and add bidets (even if only the handheld feature) to the guest bathrooms. I liked the Diamond designated parking spaces near the front door. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I was given vouchers for breakfast. I had breakfast in the restaurant, Houlihan's and it was a buffet, which was fine. Also had dinner in the restaurant and it too was fine, not terrible. All the staff I encountered on premises were very courteous and welcoming. read more

The hotel is kind of old and run down and definitely needs to update/ Redo just about everything in it. Thankfully the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's about a 10-15min drive from downtown where almost everything worth going to is. But you get what you pay for so if I had the choice, I'd stay there again only to save a few dollars. read more

So, it's a "DoubleTree" .... Let's be honest, Hilton isn't exactly keeping this brand of its hotel chain sharp. It's an older hotel & you can see that from the outside. It's clear the rooms are only 8ft ceiling height. Interior has older decor, but pretty clean. My particular room (421) the entire shower door was installed backwards! I had to use the soap/shampoo tray to turn the shower on (as an extension of my arm) & then (using the tray) hit the water temp adjuster to warm so I could get in. Once IN the shower - I could see why they installed the door backwards..... if it were on correct, you couldn't get in b/c the toilet is in the way. Lol have a since of humor in room 421. Hotel staff - straight UP 100% gold! (The reason for 4 stars) so helpful & friendly! Monique at the front desk.... *superstar*. Normally Hilton has 5 stars and above average ratings from me. However this particular location just doesn't meet the normal high standards. The bathroom shower design is very bad, you have to get in the shower from the far side to turn on the water. You get blasted with cold water, of course because it hasn't had time to warm up. Beforehand I pushed the shower head to face the wall before turning on the water but it still splashes cold water off the wall, it did that as I jumped out to miss most of it. The bottom of the shower by the doors were not clean. I was on the 3rd floor and several nights the hall and elevator area had a foul smell. Multiple people complained and not just on the 3rd floor; my coworker on the 5th floor complained of the same. After a few days they sprayed to help cover up the smell. I overheard a lady complaining at the front desk asking for a new room because of the smell. They have an issue and will hopefully get that corrected soon. The bed was very comfortable and 4 pillows on the king bed made me very happy. I love extra pillows. Checkout was quick and the staff was very nice. Even offered to give us a water or cookie for the road. The attached restaurant and bar was very good. We ate there several nights and the staff and food was great! Tuesday night they had half off the bottles of wine. That as an added early week bonus! read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a wedding May, 2022 We waited two hours past check in time for our room which turned out to be pretty dated and in need of renovation but that wasn't the worst part ! Imagine having a skirt you packed for a wedding event DISAPPEAR from your hotel room?! I was so upset when it turned up MISSING I contacted the shift manager "Sierra" who basically told me "Sorry" No explanation and no promise of an investigation into THEFT from the room of a guest! If you book this hotel --- don't bring anything you can't afford to lose ! I'm still ticked off ! It was my favorite skirt! read more

A smidge on the lower end for a Hilton and for the price. The building seems to have some newly renovated attributes but for the most part, it's aged and the appliances show as much. Only one elevator light works, a stack of chairs in the hallway (I'm assuming they were removed from one location to another for COVID), and there's easy access into the building via pool entrance. The king room has a dark feeling with aged decorations. The shower looked nice but I had to turn it on from the left side reaching to the right and got soaked with cold water every time. It just wasn't the best layout but other than that, it was a nice bathroom. Unlike most hotels, breakfast is not complimentary and they did not flip my room my entire stay. But I would love to compliment Monique at the front desk for her warm welcoming presence! That lady was everything, and met all requests and made me feel like I'd known her for years! Overall, I feel it's a nice place to lay your head, but the price doesn't quite match what it offers. read more

The hotel is under construction and it's horrible, My in-laws were visiting and they stayed here they had buckets out because of a leaking ceiling. Only one elevator was working and it had buckets in it. I will not recommend this hotel until they've completed construction. read more

I have been staying at this hotel approximately once/twice a month for the last year. Ms. Brenda at the front desk is the only reason I book at this hotel. She is gracious and friendly, courteous and efficient. The hallways have stained carpets, peeling wallpaper and unusual odors on occasion. The rooms are dated and lacking in cleanliness. The ceilings have water stains and poor repairs around windows and ac units show mold and mildew. On-site restaurant is ok, the food is much better if you are served in the restaurant instead of room service. Good parking, however the restaurant patrons tend to take over the hotel parking lot. Pros: very nice, clean rooms with very nice looking furniture and comfy beds. Lots of outlets everywhere. Free cookies that are warm and chewy- kind of like the ones you get from Subway. Nice lounge area. Good customer service. Cons: no safe for placing valuables in rooms. Loud noises in the morning. Breakfast is ok, but definitely not worth $13 a person (does not have omelets, pancakes, or anything custom made. Not too many fresh fruits). Bathroom design is a little cramped. Air conditioner smells a little. Overall, a great deal for the price. In terms of quality, you're not going to get much better in all of Columbus. read more

We travel a lot. We stay at Hilton brand hotels. On this trip, we were bringing our son to Fort Benning, for Officer Candidate School. This Doubletree hotel, was so clean, that we figured it must have been brand new. It has only been a Double Tree for 4 years, and was a Sheraton before that for a while... This Double Tree's service was excellent! From the greeting upon entry, until checkout. Including maid service, and room service, everyone was way above par!! This Double Tree offered an amazing ADA room. (I'm a paraplegic) In the Hilton brands that I've stayed in, this was the first time I've been offered a room with a large bathroom, with a handicap accessible bathtub, most only have roll in showers. I just wanted to take time to write this review, to help other travelers. Our experience was 5 star, excellent!!! read more

I am definitely a fan! The pool is nice, although a little small. There used to be a Jacuzzi I think, but there is no longer one. The gym is very adequate, exactly what you would expect from hotel gym. Nice and clean. The staff is very, very helpful and friendly. This is where Double Tree has really impressed me. There staff has gone above and beyond for me multiple times (looking at you Carla) and I am very grateful. The attached restaurant, houlihan's, is very nice and has great food at a reasonable price. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant, nor will I ever stay there again. The wallpaper is curling off of the walls. The carpets in the rooms are nasty, and have pulls in them. Water pressure for the toilet less than desirable. The design of shower made no sense. You have to step into the shower to turn it on, and get blasted with cold water before it warms up for showering. Housekeeping service very loud in the hallway using foul language. When we stepped into the hallway, someone had put a pile of dirty and wet towels right in front of our door. Other guests smoking marijuana by the pool, and then taking the elevator, so the elevator reeked of the smell of pot. I close this review with two words...."NEVER AGAIN" read more

Stayed here after near booking fiasco at Country Inn. Unfortunately this did not fare much better. Summary of experience: 1. Pool looks NOTHING like the pics online. It's quite small given the # of hotel rooms, deck needs to be resealed and repainted, no shrubs giving buffer to parking lot thus making u feel like u are wading in a bath tub in middle of parking lot. They definitely got creative with their editing filters on the pool area pics. To top it off, pool was dirty, i had to grab the net and spend 20 minutes fishing bugs and leaves off top. 2. Stained carpet throughout the hallway leading to our room. 3. Depending on which company you book with, DoubleTree front desk will nickle and dime the perks you are entitled to. We booked through booking.com, however upon check-in they told us we would not receive a voucher for complimentary breakfast (for which employees of a particular large, local employer are entitled to). Given a chance to make good on this idiotic stance, they stuck to it, burying their "powerless" head behind the corporate seal. Simple advice for those seeking lodging: stay at the Hyatt Place instead. Rooms are better, experience is better, and they dont act stupid if you book through third party site. They give their complimentary breakfast spread to ALL patrons of the hotel, regardless of whether you booked through them or somebody else. Makes sense since they are still receiving your business one way or another. Kuddos to Hyatt Place, they deserve the business. read more

We stayed here for my brother's wedding this past weekend. It seems to be a hotel that gets a lot of traffic, as there were two other weddings that weekend, a graduation, a softball tournament, among other things - they were at full capacity. That being said, we were able to check into our room at 2:30 (some of our family could not check in until 4). The rooms are okay; they are clean and somewhat updated, but the furniture is huge and bulky and really makes the flow of the room pretty bad. There were four lamps in the room (maybe 5?) but no overhead lighting, so it was not ideal for getting ready and putting on makeup, etc. The bathroom was dark as well. One of the positives of the room is the sofabed, if you need to put additional people in your room, and the fact that there is a refrigerator. When housekeeping made up our room, I realized WHILE I WAS IN THE SHOWER that they didn't leave us any towels! Apparently none of the housekeepers had towels, which I thought was... odd. They fixed it within in the hour. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, yogurts, and toast/bagels/pastries/muffins. Overall a decent stay. read more

One of the best Hilton experiences yet! Everyone was incredibly hospitable especially Fyzal and Ashleigh at the front desk. Fyzal is that warm and comforting person that every hotel should have because his outstanding customer service went above and beyond. He and another staff member were able to schedule a wake up call for me and extend my stay much later than most other Hilton hotels. Ashleigh was also very kind and understanding of all patrons. She was also very aware of many of the hotel guests needs and how to best service them based on their reason for travel. From the front desk to all of the staff around the hotel, I can't say I have ever met such happy and friendly hotel staff. Thanks for the awesome experience after a stressful day. As for the building itself, it does look a bit old but, things were very clean in my room. The maids did an excellent job at cleaning prior to our stay and tidying up the room during our stay. Although it might seem odd, I found the AC unit's noise to be helpful in drowning out any little sounds from cars and other hotel guests. It's bound to happen but, I appreciate that I couldn't here every activity that occurred outside of my room and next door. I would one hundred percent recommend this hotel! read more

I agree with the below review... From the outside, it doesn't look that glamorous, but inside, it is quite well done. The staff is typical Hilton (read: helpful and friendly), and the rooms are very nice. Free breakfast for those Hilton-leveled-folks (as I am), and a nice bar/restaurant (although I'm a non-drinker) for non-breakfast fare. This is also very reasonably priced for a Doubletree, and of course, you get yummy cookies. One other nicety for me.... I was having trouble printing in the business center (which charges $0.01 per black/white copy, and $5.99 per 15 minutes of computer usage after the first 15, which are free - this was kinda disappointing), and being under the gun, I stepped into the sales office to ask for help. The lady there was incredibly accommodating, printing what I needed from my USB-key so that I could make my meeting on time. Bad on me for not having done this ahead of time, but she really helped me out! Again, not surprising for a Hilton, but nonetheless very much appreciated. read more

Stayed at the Doubletree for 3 non-consecutive weeks through the past month. The plus side is, as you expect from the Doubletree brand, the welcoming cookie upon check-in. The hotel itself is somewhat older looking now, though the interior is nicer than the outside reflects as others have mentioned. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi lend the surrounding indoor elevator area a dampness and chlorinated aroma. The business center is nice and equipped for a few minutes of free access (enough to print last minute documents or scribble an email out). The rooms are slightly larger your average hotel room, if a bit dated and the addition of a sofa in the room as well as a comfortable leather chair were appreciated.. The staff is warm and accommodating from the welcome to a personal call to the room if anything is amiss. The internet access provided by the hotel is bad. The WiFi, simply put, cannot handle the capacity required by the hotel. Understanding that access to the web from any hotel is suspect at best, the Doubletree consistently underwhelmed while trying to do work form the WiFi provided. Speeds averaged around 20kB per second through 3 separate week long stays whether from the room wirelessly or the business center. This drops the otherwise okay rating down to 2 stars, as a business traveller I at least expect a dial-up speed internet connection, if internet access is advertised. read more

This place is kinda bland from the outside, but inside it is GOREOUS. The place was recently renovated and they did a beautiful job. The interior is all earth tones and the rooms are beautiful with dark wood furniture and these cool funky couches. Of course it has the usual fabulous Hilton bed and there is a bar/restaurant downstairs that is very nice. This is definitely where I will be staying in Columbus from now on. Oh yeah, and for a Hilton family hotel it's cheap! $107 a night to sleep in the lap of luxury. Hooah! read more
