Made to order waffles, pancakes, or omelets are great

Came in on July 16th-19th because i was going to an operation near the hotel. Let me tell you, this has been one of the best hotels my husband and I have been to. From the staff to the rooms we have no complaints. First, Elizabeth and Cristina were amazing with answering Andy and every question I had. Plus, those cookies are a sin, omg . The pool isn't huge but it is nice to go enjoy a little swim and just relax for a bit. Good thing us they also make sure to keep towels there for people swimming. Now, in the morning, I will never ever forget how Pamela and Will treated us at the breakfast area. I do understand that people in the hospitality business should be a certain way, but these two amazing human beings went above and beyond. One thing I notice with people is if they are smiling and believe me, a smile can say so much. They pay attention to detail and just have such great personalities. If we ever come back in this area, oh, I definitely am booking here again. The breakfast is fresh and definitely pretty darned good. Overall, my experience was great, and I'm so glad because I was scared if it would not be so pleasant because of me trying to recover from surgery. Also, something to note is that you can get room service for breakfast, and they also have a bar, and you can get food in the afternoon. Added bonus is the free coffee and tea offered in the lobby.

I didn't stay overnight here but I attended for an all day work meeting. The catering manager was extremely helpful and willing to help. The lunch menu had a good variety of things. I picked the field green salad and the ratio of lettuce to everything else was really bad. It was all lettuce. The shrimp was really good, though. The room was great for a meeting. The bathrooms were not stocked. Toilet paper was out in one stall and the paper towel and soap dispenser wasn't working That was not acceptable during the day at 11am when nobody really staying there. The lobby was nice and I had stayed here awhile ago and enjoyed myself stay.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The staff was friendly. The lobby has seating areas that are conducive for relaxing, chatting with friends, or sitting and having a coffee while reading a book. Off the lobby there is an ample size gym and an indoor pool. Your room key can be programmed into your phone. Very convenient! The rooms are modern but have little luxuries that you don't normally see at this level of hotel. The bathroom is huge. The all white color gives it such a fresh feeling. Plenty of fluffy white towels and upscale bath products are provided. The furniture has up to date touches and the bed and bedding are super comfy. The hotel is also convenient to many stores and restaurants. The only reason I could not give this Doubletree five stars is because of the parking situation. The parking lot for this hotel is too small. There were several times when we had to keep driving around looking for a spot. If you are in the same situation, you might want to look for parking at the Target next door. It might be your only option. Besides the parking, great hotel option in the Raleigh/Carey area.

Arrived at our destination to relax... The hotel was nice looking on the outside, the inside looked clean and polished! Love the feel of new and contemporary look of the hotel's lobby and dining area. We were greeted by the front desk employee and quickly checked us in, and gave us cookies! When we opened the door to our room, it was very clean, tidy, and just nice! We loved that the hotel uses Crabtree & Evelyn & Wolfgang Puck's coffee! Yes! A place that is recommended! Note: I did not get the continental breakfast, since it was expensive.

    Nice lobby!!

Clean, close to the fair (10 miles) and friendly staff. Bed comfy, but food was expensive!! Continental breakfast was NOT included in the price. Boo. Only complaint was our A/C didn't seem to work. Our friends that were traveling with us didn't have an issue w/ their A/C so I am thinking it was just ours. It got extremly hot in our room and had to turn it down to 58 degrees inorder for the room to cool off to about 68. No one likes to sweat while they sleep. I know I don't. Overall a good experience and a good price.

Breakfast was amazing Ma. Pam was great. Also, all the front staff.

This DoubleTree was one of the best I have ever stayed in being a Diamond member. Ms. Pam and all the staff that helped with breakfast was great. 10 out of 10. Great hotel if going to the state fair

We also each got one free drink at the bar! I do wish there had been a little more Christmas feel in the room itself since there wasn't any holiday decor inside, but the hotel and surrounding area were gorgeous. The park right behind it was lit up beautifully with activities, which made it such a fun place to walk through. Parking unfortunately wasn't great since there were only a handful of spots, so we had to park a bit far away and walk back any time we left. The bed was super comfy and cozy, and room service comes from their restaurant so the food was delicious. The woman at the front desk was incredibly sweet and accommodating, and they also have extras like toothbrushes and other essentials if you forget anything. It is on the pricier side, but if you want to treat yourself for a special occasion, I highly recommend it. We're already talking about making it a tradition.

My husband decided to keep his drink in hand for the rest of his, and when he was done the guy drove by and snatched his up. He didn't stop to ask if we needed anything else. On the wedding day, they even steamed my dress as a surprise, which I really appreciated. Our wedding coordinator was organized and incredibly helpful in managing the timeline, making sure everything ran smoothly and on schedule. One thing to note is that the venue is fairly strict about outside vendors not on their preferred list. Thankfully, our photographer already had liability insurance, but there were a few extra personal touches we had to forgo due to these guidelines. The complimentary suite included in our package was a highlight--spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for getting ready with friends and family. The bed was very comfortable, though the multi-head shower took some getting used to. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches: handwritten notes, complimentary champagne and chocolates at check-in, and another bottle of champagne along with a small piece from the Michael Aram Anemone collection on our wedding night--such a special gesture. Food for both the cocktail hour and reception met our expectations, and many of our guests had great things to say about the quality and hospitality. Our signature cocktails--the Old Fashioned and espresso martini--were solid and well-made. Overall, they truly took great care of us and helped make our wedding day feel special.

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

There were no overhead lights and it was dark. There was a small lamp on the desk and another lamp near the bed. From photos it seems my room was missing a lamp near the couch and likely another on the other side of the bed as there was a switch there that wasn't doing anything either. I could deal with the darkness for a night but it wouldn't work so well for a long term stay. I normally have a book with me so I wouldn't have had enough light for that. The bathroom was large and had plenty of light. I wish some of those overhead lights were in the room portion. WIFI was good. The tv didn't always connect so it was the static screen a lot. When it was turned on it would have the thinking circle and then a little bit later a station would show up or the static. It was just a night there so not so much an issue but I wouldn't want to deal with it for a long term stay. The HVAC unit worked well but was on the louder side. So I am not sure if that buffered out any traffic noise. I slept well and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast had a room with waffle makers; eggs; sausage and potatoes. Other than that, AVOID THIS HOTEL at all costs. I'm a believer in the Hilton Brand and frequently stay at Hampton Inns during my business and personal travels. They're a reliable choice in the affordable hotel category, and usually they're clean, comfortable, and reliable. But this location fails on almost all levels. I cannot BELIEVE Hilton allows this place to retain their franchise status. This place was an absolute pit - probably one of the grimiest hotels I've ever stayed in. Yes, it was outdated, with shabby, worn furniture and fixtures. But that's not a deal killer - you can still keep a place updated with a fresh coat of paint and regular carpet cleaning. This hotel, though, has clearly made little to no effort to even try to maintain a little dignity, even if the decor is right outta 1992. Featuring sticky, suspiciously stained carpets (in the room and halls), bedsheets that seemed clean but faintly smelled of cigarettes, doors that looked like they'd been cobbled back together after a police raid, and semi-shady clientele lurking about the dark sidewalks outside my room. I originally booked three nights but, after arriving late the first night and sleeping restlessly because the a/c was so noisy I had to turn it off, I promptly packed my bags first thing in the morning, grabbed a coffee and a waffle in the lobby, and checked my a** right on outta there. What's good about this Hampton Inn? The aforementioned friendly staff, the buffet, and a fairly convenient location. Oh, and (for reasons that become glaringly obvious when you check in) it's priced much lower than other Hampton Inn and similar properties in the area. If you're looking to save a few bucks, and you like sticky carpets, questionable wiring, and loud air conditioning units then by all means stop on by.
