I walk into the lobby and I am hit with a very strong air freshener scent to hide the smell of cigarette smoke. This smell is also in the hallways and rooms. The elevator was broken when we checked in and so was the ice machine on the 2nd floor. We did receive a call a couple hours before we checked in about the broken elevator. This is an older Hampton and in my opinion not up to the normal Hilton Brand standards. It's July and the winter cover is still on the pool, mattress was worn out and had a sag in the middle, worn out carpets, slow draining sinks, etc. Overall this hotel is very worn down and the breakfast was sub par at best. FYI I am very loyal to the Hilton brand and stay in their hotels over 200 nights a year and this was one is way below average. This is the worst hampton I have ever stayed in. The door is drab and dated. The elevator is broken. The ice machine is out of order. We asked to change our room to a handicapped room because the toilet was so low. The handicapped room had a queen sized bed that they failed to tell us. Our original room was a king! I was very disappointed in this Hampton Inn. I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that was in such a need of renovation and repair. The hotel lobby rugs were worn and bare in spots. Our bathroom toilet tank and top were cracked. The wall was cracked and chipping. The staff at this hotel were EXCELLENT, especially the ladies at the desk, Kionna Jones and Tasia. The breakfast bar was well stocked, the food was warm, plentiful and clean. I was so very disappointed with the need of repair at this establishment. Where do I begin!!! We arrived after a late flight. We noticed immediately that the carpets were beyond dirty. No amount of cleaning would improve the carpets. They need to be replaced. This is my professional opinion, owning my own cleaning business for the last 20 years. But we stayed. It wasn't until the water was turned off without any prior notice, that put the nail in the coffin for us!! I have been fighting for the last 2 days to be reimbursed for my prepaid stay!!! Unfortunately this place does not live up to the standards of other Hampton Inns. It was clean but the carpet in the hallways was fraying and looked old. In our room, the bathroom was sub-par. The shower head was completely disconnected from the wall and the tub faucet was loose as well. The towel hooks were also loose. The toilet ran continually -it never stopped the entire time. We had open up the tank and manually get the stopper to seal so the tank could fill up. Additionally there was no vent in the bathroom which left it ridiculously humid after a shower. The beds were actually pretty comfortable but the room was a mish mosh of all kinds of furniture. Breakfast was fine. But we were in town for five days and decided to go to another hotel. read more

There are better Hilton choices nearby. My recent stay (I've stayed here 3x before) was the last straw. My room was supposed to be ready by 3pm and when I arrived at 4pm it still wasn't and then after waiting 15 mins it was. The first floor hallway floor is littered with debris and has a strong mildew odor. The bath towels smelled. The tub wouldn't drain, eeeww and same for the sink. This hotel is good for what it's for, my family and I enjoyed stayed here the day before we had a early flight out of RDU. I used mobile check-in and digital key so I had no real reason to stop at the front desk, however I did stop there to inquire about leaving our ice packs for our little one milk in the freezer with them until the next morning before taking flight. I was informed that the refrigerator in the room had a freezer which from my hotel experience (if it's not one with a kitchen) it's a small tiny fridge with a little shelf considered the freezer. I was ensured that wasn't the case and to my surprise it wasn't the fridge had a totally separate freezer department which froze the ice packs great. The room was older for my liking but only needed for the night for us to get some rest before our long 5 hours and 30 minutes. The staff was very kind both the evening of our arrival and the next morning before we headed to the airport. The continental breakfast area was brightly lit and had a nice amount of items to choose from. The fresh juices were a great surprise and the other items available as well. read more

My experience with this hotel and staff was Not good, while talk with staff on the phone concerning a issue with dates reserved and dates used . There were several errors made by both parties , rather then help and solving this issue , Nadia was so rude and charged my credit card with out authorization and we never stepped foot on the property . Which i am disputing with the credit card company and the calling the corporate office . With hopes for a better out come . And plan on contacting better business bureau if this is not resolved . We really enjoyed our recent stay when about 15 members of our extended family stayed several days to attend my husband's uncle's funeral services. Yolanda and Hakeem were 2 of the staff who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We were able to spend time together over breakfast and later in the evening in the lobby, so we could share family stories and catch up on what's going on in our lives. Not a good place to stay. I almost made diamond last year so I stay at Hilton a lot. First, the place is tired in its appearance. I was not offered the complimentary water. Normally I am thanked for being a gold member...this did not happen. The room looks like a cheap hotel. Well worn. I woke up to decaf coffee. I called the front desk to have some regular coffee sent but they said that I would have to come get it. Well, I was a little annoyed but it was time to get ready and no hot water in the place....freezing cold shower. Ok now I am pissed off. I mean this is the basics. I called the front desk all they said was ok....sorry you have to have a cold shower. Just wait a while and the water will be hot soon. Well, I don't have time to wait around for a basic need. This is the only Hilton that has ever disappointed me. We visited from Florida to attend my daughter's graduation. On Saturday May 11th we departed 8AM to attend the graduation and the door was fully closed and locked. Only to return and discover that my secondary phone was missing. My suit case was left out in the open and it had all my phone chargers and secondary phone in it. (Secondary phone has no service). WiFi use only. It has Face ID and pin setup. Whoever cleaned my room 509 is a thief. They stole memories of all my vacation trips with my family, all of my grandkids photos and memories. If you are reading this PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!!!! They have no safes, they don't have any cameras on any floor that I have seen. Previous reviews less than three months ago show that cars have been broken into. Very noisy. Hotel is near a hospital and a truck stop and you have tons of trucks parking on the street. COnvenient to Harris Teeter and WHole Foods which is why I'm giving the 2nd star. Paid for a room on the first floor. Room was so-so considering the price. Got there late and went to bed soon after. Lots of noise from the floor above and the AC unit made an annoying ticking noise as well. This past winter my area was hit with its regular annual snowfall. This time, however, it was expected to be a significantly larger quantity than usual. While we don't normally lose power during these kinds of storms, I booked a hotel room at Hampton Inn right outside the local hospital just to make sure. I almost wish I could have stayed a night or so longer. My room was slightly on the small side, however, since I was to be the only one staying for the night, this was not a big negative - had I been sharing, however, I'd probably have felt a little crowded out and unsettled. It was in immaculate condition - clean and fresh smelling with all the quintessential "welcome" items (soaps, shampoos, stationary, and ice containers) like any hotel room should be. This Hampton Inn location is fairly new, so it is to be expected that everything would be in working order and this was definitely the case for me. Each room is equipped with a big flat screen TV (which I didn't use, but I'd be surprised if it malfunctioned; like I said this is a fairly new establishment), and high speed internet access (which I did use and it worked like a dream!). There are also vending machines plus a gym on the first floor, and a continental breakfast is served in the lobby each morning (a lovely and delicious selection of fruit, pastries, biscuits, yogurts, waffles and bagels). The location is exceptional, as it is outside a well-established part of Cary, where each road is lined with strip malls, restaurants, and shopping attractions, including a nearby mall of a decent size. Since I have lived in the area my whole life, I am not sure what the average traveler would be interested in as this isn't a big tourist or vacation city. I will say, though, that when I do travel, I have always enjoyed the occasions during which I had the luxury of walking places, and this location offers a fair amount of this option! I had no problems with the people who worked there. In my (very few) interactions with the staff, I was treated very politely and considerately. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and informative. The Hampton Inn is not what you would call a "luxury hotel," which is why I decided to go with the four-star rating instead of five, however, it is not "cheap" by any means either. All in all, a very good hotel in the Cary, NC area! read more

Stayed here a couple times now and both experiences have been excellent. The rooms are kept very clean and the staff is very nice and accommodating. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that their complementary breakfast isn't fully a "hot" breakfast like normal Hamptons... they do have a variety of options (biscuits, pancakes, sandwiches,etc). They are packaged in these nice bags and you throw it into a microwave with suggested microwave times. I usually go with a waffle anyways, so it's nice and hot to start the mornings. Other than the breakfast, which really isn't a big deal... it can be a bit of a wait trying to turn in on Ashville Ave since Tryon is so busy (this is where Tryon turns into US64 so there can be a lot of traffic during times of the day. I stayed one night at this hotel for convenience and price. I live in NJ and drove down to NC to see my grandmother at the hospital nearby and they give family members a discount rate. The hotel is not bad and offered complimentary breakfast from 6-10 which consists of more than just bagel and coffee. Me, my wife and two friends came here for a convention. The staff was very nice. The continental breakfast was alright. The room looked clean. We arrived on Thursday and had ants on our beds and night table. After killing them and finding food crumbs behind the bed, I went downstairs to let the front desk know. I told them we were leaving for the evening and be back later. When we got back, they were still there. The next morning, Friday, I told them again about the ants. I also told them we would be gone till that evening. When we returned that night, we didn't see any ants on the beds nor night table. The next morning, Saturday, my wife had ants in her pocketbook from sitting on the Ottoman. Before leaving, I mentioned the ants at the desk. We didn't see any ants that night. This location is old, but they have done a decent job keeping things up to date, though the carpets in the rooms desperately need to be replaced. The tub and shower is clean and maintained well. A decent experience at a usually pretty consistent chain in a good central location. Very little negative to say at all. Room was nice and clean and warm, which was nice since it was a colder than usual evening. The full-size bed was a bit of a surprise. I guess I wasn't aware that's what I was getting, and I'm surprised hotels even use full-size beds anymore, having seen most of them use queen size. As we were trying to fall asleep, at one point the heater turned on after having been off, and seemed to be struggling in a way that made a lot of noise that irritated my husband and I. We woke up to a decent breakfast. Other reviews have already mentioned the lack of hot options, and it would have been nice to see a little something extra like most other Hampton locations, but the waffle maker was a hit with my husband, I had a delicious oatmeal, and we both enjoyed a hard-boiled egg with a little salt and pepper. there was even a little fresh fruit to enjoy. As other people reviewed, there were some wrapped sandwiches in the refrigerator that could be microwaved, but it was unclear what exactly was in the wrapped packages. They were not clearly labeled and had no pictures to give any indication as to what was inside. So overall a mostly comfortable stay at a decent hotel. read more

This is definitely a newer hotel in the area it was extremely clean and the front desk was exceptional the morning free breakfast was a lot more than the usual Hampton and was definitely taken care of by the hostess it was items were constantly being refilled and area was being cleaned she did an amazing job it was a very friendly person giving out information about local activities in places to go to get groceries the whole staff at the hotel from custodial to housekeeping we're also extremely friendly and cared about It showed because it was constantly being cleaned you could see people vacuuming the hallways or cleaning rooms the pools in an awkward place in the back but also is very clean highly recommend this place the price and location was great as we had relatives nearby it is tricky to pull it off the busy intersection but when she get the hang of it it's not a big deal the only other thing is there's a lot of smokers but they were outside but as soon as you walked out there's a lot of smoking a cigarette butts was again that's what you get with stinky cigarette smokers read more

Well, they say that pets are not allowed except for service dogs, and the little dog I hear yipping across the hall...I doubt is a service dog. There's stains on the carpet (room 510)...and the elevator not only sound like it's a death trap (horrible noises between the first and second floor and then the forth and fifth floor), but the LED read out is broken so you don't know what floor your on unless you look at the sign next to the door when they open. Not the friendliest welcome. I am up to Gold on Hilton rewards and had to ask for water. That's not world class service by any stretch of the imagination. The bedding is clean and the bathroom is clean...so they did not get one star. read more
