We stayed here about 2 weeks ago. Parking: A lot that feels up in the evening. Service: hood. I love the warm chocolate chip cookie they give you upon check-in. They have a restaurant on-site and the food was ok. I had wings and a salad. The server at the bar was awesome! Very nice, engaging and helpful. They have a snack area where you can purchase microwaveable wuick snacks. They had drinks also and salads. The room was good. It was clean. I love the smart TV. It has a welcome message when you turn it on with your name. The bathroom is small. Overall, our stay was good. I would go back.

    Horrible stay and over priced!

They need to improve their bathrooms. The tub faucet is separated from the wall. The bathroom door is coming apart at the bottom. Also it's a hole from a missing piece of sheet rock on the bottom of the bathroom wall. The bed sheets showed signs of visible stains, that couldn't be removed after hopefully being cleaned. If their sheets shows stains, they should been thrown away, and not placed on the bed where your guests can see it. They say they have fluffy pillows, and it's know way near being fluffy. The best thing that they offer is their cookies, and we didn't book this hotel for free cookies. We would like to sleep comfortably after traveling away from our comfortable home.

In A Nutshell: -The DoubleTree in Wilmington is okay. -I am glad I was able to get a room at the last minute. -The customer service wasn't that great. -The people at the counter were pretty lazy. -The room I booked was nice & cool at least, it was good enough to rest for the evening on my road trip. Overall, it was a okay stay, just wish the customer service was a little better.

Dreadful. Truly a nightmare. After gouging road-weary travelers with exhorbitant Memorial Day prices, this exploitive, uncaring hotel charged us $255 one night for an airless room with an outdated AC that didn't work, nor could be explained by the stoned, manic "engineer" who appeared at our door reeking of marijuana, pacing our room maniacally as he rambled on in a garbled, drug-addled explanation of why he could not adjust the unit to "continual fan" despite these words written explicitly on the appliance. Whereupon at 3am the ancient toilet failed flush, yet, loathe to have the drug-addicted "engineer" appear again in our room to "help" us, we spent an exhausted hour in the non-ventilated dead of night filling the plastic dustbin with water as we manually flushed the decrepit, feces-clogged toilet ourselves. Whereupon awaking exhausted at dawn with a long haul in front of us, we begged rude, passive-aggressive hotel manager Cody Statler for a refund, which was of course not forthcoming as the devious concierge lied and told us that all the appliances were in fact working perfectly. Nor would the greedy egotist give us any discount, or even a credit, claiming that he would at my behest have the district manager call me, which never transpired. If you want peace, a good night's sleep, courteous service, and modern applicances, The Doubletree Hilton is not the place for you. However, if you fancy overpaying mediocre hotels for abuse and insomina, the Doubletree Wilmington is just what the doctor ordered.

I would like to convey the details of my stay in Room 162 at the hotel from February 26 until March 2. I chose to stay here rather than the Homewood Suites since I was traveling alone and didn't need a large room with a kitchen. I traveled all day from Rhode Island and looked forward to relaxing before my busy next few days in Wilmington. The first issue was the icemaker at the end of the hall that did not work. When I went to the front desk to inquire about the location for another ice machine, I was told by the employee who could barely look up from his book, to take my ice bucket to the bar, and the bartender would fill it for me. I'm a capable 64 year-old, but is that the response that someone much older than me and possibly not as capable would have received? When I asked the next day if the ice machine would be repaired I was told there is no ice machine on the first floor. Definitely was... have a photo. When I was ready for my evening shower before bed, there was no hot water. The faucet was fully open as well as the shower turned as far to the maximum hot water side and still no hot water. I called the front desk in the morning to inquire if there was a problem. The explanations of an old tower and a new tower didn't make sense with regard to why there wouldn't be hot water. Going forward there was plenty of hot water in the mornings but lukewarm or none at night. The front desk stated that it would be reported to the engineers to check on the problem and offered to change my room. I declined the room change because I was fully unpacked and had a 12 hour day ahead of me. Upon further inspection I noticed that this room was not being properly cleaned. Surfaces were dusty. Stains on counters. The thermostat was filthy. There was a disgusting stain on the comforter. I folded it over and pinned it w/ a safety pin and slept on the other side of the bed. Is it the norm to drape plastic bags over the trash cans for the guest to put in the cans? That's the way all the cans in the room and bathroom were when I arrived. A previous guest left a phone charger. The bathroom shower needs repair. On 2/28 l left for another long day and took down the do not disturb sign because I thought it would be nice to come back to a clean room on my birthday. I arrived back at 10:30 PM and no housekeeping had been completed. My husband called with a request for room compensation and when someone finally answered the phone on his third try he was advised he would receive a call back. No message was received and no monetary compensation was or has been offered to me for the numerous inconveniences. At the end of my stay I witnessed another couple asking for a room change from that same corridor of rooms. Interestingly, I was informed by my Uber driver that he has dropped off individuals with vouchers to stay at this hotel. Could this be the reason the rooms on that corridor are not being properly maintained? I will not recommend this location to anyone.

This needs maintenance. Replacement parts--water line, escutcheon plate, valve. then, fix the damaged areas on the ground. $100. AND... GO!

So far, not so good. First impression? The lobby smells like a backed up bathroom sewage drain. I wish I was over exaggerating. It smelled like that all the way to the elevators. Got to the second floor and it dissipated; except now we are in our room and I see this (pic).

Excellent hotel. Clean, friendly staff, and good service. I'd recommend it to anyone.

No vacuuming in a 14-day stay. Amazing.

There's a Jason Isbell song called "Flagship" and the opening line is "there's a few too many years on this hotel. She used to be a beauty I can tell". Wonder if he stayed here. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Second stay and just as bad as the first. A 14-day stay this time and either no one cares or no one walks the halls. Filthy. Same (sandwich? Bread crumbs? Fritos?) on the carpet day one as day fourteen. What I should have grabbed was a pic of the Twix wrapper that sat in the elevator for more than 48 hours. I stayed in the tall tower the first time, the back tower the second and no difference. Filthy. From the missing artwork on the walls to the elevators that are 90+ degrees to the dirty common areas it's a total miss. Hilton must not care about the brand being watered down by subpar places like this. Even my check-in: I ask for one specific thing, a room away from the elevators (cause they're old and LOUD) and I pre-select with my app, show up after 4PM, and why, no, your room isn't ready Diamond Member. So they try and put me -- you guessed it -- next to the elevator. And are all pissed off when I ask to be moved. There is no way there is a professional manager running this place. I managed businesses for 30+ years (Hyatts for 6). Because a real manager would walk the floors DAILY and see that it looked like someone had assaulted a po-boy sandwich on day one and said "vacuum the hallways". Just so many misses. Ever been in a hotel where they don't even have a trash bin in the common area on a floor? (Not even in the ice machine room?) Stay here. It's delightful seeing people pile their trash in the hallways every day. The best thing I can say about this dump is it's near the Brandywine Diner and a really decent Greene Turtle. Outside of that: SHAME ON YOU HILTON. I walked by their business area and saw the screensaver saying "It Matters Where You Stay" every morning and thought "No shit. Because this place is awful."

Upholstery looks like old blood blood stains put towels over chair so dirty,

Looks clean to the eye. Upholstery looks like it has not been clean at all. Telephones not clean. Reach to get a towel look what I see. Staff very friendly. Had a problem with Supervisor (Angelina?) did not act sympathetic when my husband got embarrassed twice trying to get his breakfast. Breakfast was included in our stay. Communication was lost between the management staff and kitchen staff. Supervisor did not apologized or offer a coupon or something. Ask this same Supervisor for remote to TV in lobby she said she don't know where it's at. Maintenance came along and change TV for us. While the maid was cleaning our room. Like others have mentioned, this place is weathered. Stains, cracks, odors galore. But the worst part? My son kept coughing whenever we went back to our room. After he had touched the vents, we noticed black residue on his hands and realized the vent was covered in BLACK MOLD. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially families with young children.

We had barely…read morewalked in, and I was already counting down the minutes until I could leave and write this review. The staff were shockingly rude--especially the woman with red hair in the cafeteria, who seemed irritated by the mere existence of guests, snapping at people like we were a burden rather than paying customers. And the room? Absolutely unbelievable--in the worst way. It was so dirty it felt like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I had to drape sheets over the couches just to sit down without feeling gross, thanks to visible stains, what looked like layers of grime, and an alarming amount of dog hair--despite specifically booking a hypoallergenic room. The kitchen was practically useless, with barely any equipment to prepare even a simple meal, and to top it off, the coffee machine didn't even work. The bathroom sink was clogged and emitted a strong rotten egg smell that filled the room--it was impossible to ignore, even when trying to sleep. We're supposed to stay here for a few more days, but honestly, it feels like a nightmare I can't wake up from. I've never been so eager to check out of a place in my life.

Someone answered and said that they could. When I arrived later that day, Jeannette checked me in and gave me a great room on a higher floor with a great view of the Christina River. Jeannette later told me that she had replied to my text. Our room was perfect. It had everything that we requested starting with a king bed. The room had a small kitchen area. There was plenty of desk space and a small sofa with a computer desk. The bathroom was adequate. The view from the room was great. It was nice that we could see a high school rowing race one morning from our room. Breakfast is served downstairs. They had a pretty good offering of breakfast items. They had the usual items like scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. One of the mornings they served a smoked chicken for smoked chicken burritos. It was different and good. Along with these breakfast items, they also had coffee and juices. The gym is located on the first floor. They had sanitizing wipes to clean the machines before and after using the machines. A large screen tv was there for watching. Ellipticals and treadmills are available for you to use. It was enough for a good workout. The Homewood was a good hotel for me. Both my wife and I liked it. If in this area again, we would stay here again.
