I originally got turned on to Roberts Auto Repair by seeing the blue Tacoma with the phone number on the side. I figured anyone who can keep a truck that old looking that good has to be one hell of a mechanic. I just picked up my old own truck this week, and Roberts was the first place I took it as the check engine light was on. I pulled the codes, and it turned out to be the knock sensor. I took the truck in fully intending to just have that sensor replaced, and Jason talked me out of it because it wasn't needed. I feel like the best way to judge how trustworthy a business might be is if you walk in trying to spend money on something you don't need and they turn you away. If Jason would have been like, "Oh sure we can do that no problem," I'd be $150 lighter and probably never even really know that I didn't need to do it. Instead, his guys tuned the truck up and replaced a problematic radiator and the thing runs as good as new. We'll definitely be going to Roberts Auto Repair from here on out. They did good work, didn't upsell me on things I didn't need, and got it all done quick. What else do you need in a mechanic?

He's hot headed, and it's been said numerous times that he is thriving off of the good business his father established and he took over. He said that because we upset him by asking if the work was done correctly and saying it's important because of many of the reviews we are reading and the fact that we have three babies in the vehicle, that our car was in his custody now and he was going to charge us whatever the heck he wanted to and we had to pay it or we would not get our vehicle back. He didn't get the vehicle in when he said he would and closed up shop without notifying us. My husband had to pay our plumber to get to work the next morning, as we are new to the area and do not know anybody. The only reason we went to him and not our previous mechanic was because he ensured us he would have the vehicle in That Day. ********He said that we would not get charged as agreed upon unless we took our bad review down. He still overcharged.********* He's called us numerous time back to back when we've messaged him confronting him of the damages done to our vehicle while in his custody, and harassed us. We have phone log attesting to this. *******POSSIBLY THE WORST OF ALL, they in fact DID cause damage to our vehicle. When driving off his lot the day the work was completed, our vehicle began to shake all over the road. A bunch of lights came on as well.******** We found out days later that not only did they barely hand screw in the bolts on our wheel bearings which had practically fallen off, but they also broke our vehicle sensor, which is accessed thought the wheel bearings. Additionally, we had to replace two wheels which were recently put on due to damages done as a result of the bolts not being screwed in. We have paperwork from several mechanics, one of which we say who the day before going to him (they ran a full diagnostics, no lights on, no issues with vehicle), and the mechanic we saw after leaving Roberts, both attesting to these facts. He refuses to pay for the damages, he's fought us every step of the way. RUN FROM THIS MECHANIC if you value your and your families safety and money. It might sound like I am over exaggerating, but I have actually left so much out of this review. We would be here all day if I mentioned all that he's done and said to us. We have sought legal aid in this matter as well as contacted the BBB and Attorney General. Long story short, I suggest you save yourself the headache and money and go elsewhere!

Found we had a leak in the brake line....on a SUNDAY MORNING no less. We tried 8-9 places that all either couldn't fit us in or were closed (even with 24/7 in advertising). We finally got hold of a fella who referred us to Jonathan Boshears of Hometown Auto. He answered our call even as he was on a job already. We explained the issue and texted over a few photos. He gave us an ETA, our location itself is a 40-50 ride so location was not an issue. Besides having to run for a few parts they were under the line, fixed up then back out quickly and cleanly. Besides answering on a Sunday, the distance and the after hours situation they also gave us a price that was so fair we supplemented it. We felt AND were treated like appreciated customers that were being assisted not simply annoyances that were being done a huge favor, after hours on a Sunday . I bought my car here at the beginning of October, and had a great experience, but it has turned in to an unmitigated disaster since. I traded my car in, and bought a new car from Unstoppable Auto. The car I traded in still had an outstanding balance owed to the lender I had been using, which is standard for a trade in. Part of my contract was that Unstoppable would pay off that car, and that was all wrapped in to my new car loan. As of today, January 1 (nearly 3 months later) they have still not paid off my outstanding loan on the car they purchased from me as part of this deal. I have been lied to by multiple member of their staff about the reasoning for this situation. I was told the initial employee working in their finance department stole money and didn't pay off loans. Then they hired someone new, who was arrested for theft as well. Now they have a new financial worker who has lied to me more times than I can count. They claimed to mail a check for the payoff amount to my lender a month ago. I spoke with the lender and they verified that an empty envelope was mailed to them with no check inside. They have told me it isn't possible to make an electronic payoff to the lender, which is a lie. I know it's a lie, because days later they told me they were making an electronic payoff, and that never happened. At this point, I go to the dealership daily for updates on this payoff. They will not answer their phone when I call, so I have no other choice. The guy in the financial department, Jamie, keeps trying to avoid talking to me so he doesn't have to make up anymore lies. He has started running from the office to a car and leaving the lot as soon as I arrive. My credit has now been seriously affected by this because the payments are past due. The car is still in my name, but I no longer have it. Unstoppable employees have told me they're in a bad place because they already sold it to another buyer, but they don't have the money to pay the lender for it. I don't know how they sold it, because they can't get the title until they pay it off. The important part of this story is to stay as far away from this nightmare as you possibly can. They've caused me sleepless nights, hundreds of phone calls with my previous lender, damage to my credit score, and countless headaches. They are thieves, liars, and charlatans. Buy a new car ANYWHERE else. Previous review: Give these guys a chance to earn your business. I stopped here on a whim, and they worked magic with my payment and trade in options. I've never had such a good experience at a dealership as I did here. They were fantastic all the way around. They worked with my payment options first to make sure I wasn't wasting time looking at cars that I couldn't get financed for. Justin was a great salesman, and took care of the entire process. The owner was on site as well, making sure the process went smoothly. They may not have the most cars on the lot, but they'll take care of you better than any other dealership. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.
