She has brought home BEAUTIFUL artwork that we hang and use. Parking is easy to find. Its a one hour and fifteen min class every Tuesday and plans to open more sessions. She always has that brilliant smile at the end of every class with an end product, which is quite priceless! Devina also does corporate events and special events like birthdays - we invited her to do a lesson for my daughter and her friends for her birthday (Andy Warhol's donuts). What a super cool outcome that was! In addition to art, Devina also teaches public speaking, which has helped my daughter understand how to write outlines, make better arguments, reduce filler words and project better body language. Most importantly it has helped boost her self confidence! Devina is not just a teacher - she is invested in the development of your child all along the way, which is not something you'd get in some of the best teachers. We are truly lucky to have her in our daughter's life!

Who throws a birthday party for only one hour? If you want an additional hour it's an extra $150. Felt like a bait and switch -- I went back on the website to see if there was a disclaimer about parties being only 1 hour -- there is, but it's very discreet. It should definitely be more clear so there aren't any surprises. 2. The art project takes quite literally 5 minutes (no wonder only one hour is included...). While I'm sure the art is going to be beautiful, I would go as far as saying this was boring for a crew of 7 year old girls. After all of the instructions were given it was truly.. 5 minutes of fun... I quote the birthday girl.., "mom, we poured paint in a cup and then poured it in paper. That's it." I really wish there was something else to make the party a bit more fun and engaging. Play a game? Sing? Literally anything to extend the fun. The art itself is simply not enough to justify having a party there.

My boys had expressed an interest in art classes for homeschool. It was amazing to see what they could do on a first visit here and both were so excited with their results. We were greeted warmly and I was presented information in a straight forward and easy to understand manner while my boys went off to class. My boys are both age 12 and liked the set up for learning, the options of the different plans and types of art they could choose from and the instructors were all warm and helpful. As someone with chemical sensitivities, one of the instructors there was heavily fragranced and I had difficulties staying for too long.. For me, that was the only downfall as my kids don't particularly like being around strong fragrance either, though they don't have the reactions to it that I do. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. You can choose from different plans and frequencies. The times ultimately didn't work out for us with baseball practice and the 20+ min drive from Livermore, but continue to consider some of the camps they offer and they will attend if it works into our schedule.

One of the things I appreciate is the relaxed atmosphere, which allows me to work at my own pace, experiment with new ideas, and simply enjoy the creative process. The studio is well-equipped, welcoming, and provides a great environment to throw on the wheel or handbuild. Whether I'm refining techniques or trying something completely new, I always leave feeling inspired. I'm grateful to have a space where I can come and go as my schedule allows, and continue developing as an artist. I recommend it to anyone interested in ceramics - seasoned or starting out.

We found the studio through a friend whose daughter graduated from this place and we feel absolutely happy to be part of this art family. I recommend this place to all my friends with kids and the main reason why I love Oam Studios is because they teach the fundamentals and explain the basics (shading, pencil pressure, anatomy, symmetry, etc) to children instead of making them replicate an art by following step by step instructions. Students get to pick their own project and the teacher works with them individually even though it's a group class. Teacher Omar created a system with gateways (drawing, painting, ceramics, digital art) that makes it fun for children to explore different means and 'advance in levels' as they learn more techniques. Our Teacher Monique is so patient, sweet and friendly. The studio is clean, very artsy and filled with student projects.

He recently changed his tuition structure for 15 classes for $300 which we paid but he never mentioned that we had to use it in 5 months. This past weekend, when we try to use the last two sessions, Mr. Li said we can't because it expired! We told Mr. Li that he never told us that when we paid the fee and he said his policy is posted on the window (which we never noticed until he mentioned it). Mr. Li said he also post this information on his website but we told him it doesn't matter because he should have said something to us when we paid him or should have given us a receipt with this information or something in writing to that effect. He stood his ground and told my wife that if our kids want to attend we need to pay. Mr. Li, you've been teaching our two kids for over two years but what you did is wrong. Regardless of what your sign said, you never told us we had to use it within five months and you as good business practice and teacher for my kids for over two years, you should've just let them attend the class and we would've keep coming. We were not asking for anything free, all we were asking is to let us use what we paid for. Now, you've lost two students and we're going to spread the word to everyone we know about our experience. Was what you did worth it?

Mr. Li is a great teacher and encouraged us to grow as artists. We have learned to use a variety of mediums, from pencil sketching, oil painting, watercolor, to traditional chinese guóhuà. We also learned to draw a lot of different subjects like portraits, landscapes, still life - pretty much anything I was interested in, Mr. Li could teach it. Every year we'd have a field trip to a local park - including Coyote Hills and Quarry Lakes to paint real life landscapes with watercolors that we'd drag along. It was always fun, and I still have those paintings hanging up in my childhood room. By the time I left, I had a portfolio that I was really happy with, and throughout my time there he encouraged and helped us to enter into local art contests. He really supported my creativity, and although I decided that drawing isn't really for me as a career, I still find it super-duper useful at school and work in engineering because I communicate my ideas through quick sketches. I cannot recommend Mr. Li's art studio enough!
