    2024 - Terrace Room
    Iona C.

We held my daughter's first birthday party in the Terrace Room and this venue does have a lot of things going for it - plenty of parking, free tables and chairs for the Terrace Room, the option to go with your own caterer, the ability to work on and submit the layout virtually through the Planning Pod website. Travis Russey, our main point of contact, was also fairly responsive and able to answer all of our questions and walk us through the rental process without a hitch. The event went smoothly and the day-of attendant, Aiden, was able to help me and another new mom find a separate space to nurse in and he also handled the trash and recycling at the end of the event (another big convenience). However, our event was in late October and we still needed to completely draw the window blinds because when we arrived to set-up, the room was starting to become quite hot. This experience mirrors Cindy L.'s experience to a degree and it is something to look out for if you consider the Terrace Room in particular for your event. There is also sometimes the option to drop off things to the room the day prior to your event if there isn't another event scheduled. I worked this out with Travis, but when I went the afternoon of Friday, October 25, 2024 to drop things off, I got a really cold almost dismissive reception from the receptionist seated at the front desk while her colleague, another woman, asked me what I was doing there and what specifically I was dropping off in a really brusque manner. She eventually opened the door for me and allowed me to drop off some of the decor, but I thought both of them were strange choices for the "front of house" if you will. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe I encountered the same people Kayli T. did.

We had our son's wedding here. We booked the whole center since we had over 400 guests. The outdoor as well as the indoor is just so beautiful and was so clean. We had full use of the kitchen. Their outdoor has a fountain and a rose garden which is lovely for taking pictures. We could use the whole space without any restrictions. The park in which this center is, that's also so beautiful. The main room has high ceilings, big windows with lots of lights and a big stage. It looked spectacular when the decorator set it up. The staff is v accommodating. We had 2 people throughout the function and they kept taking away the garbage as needed. So many from our family and friends want to have their events here after they attend our wedding. Thank you for making our wedding so memorable !

It is like a big giant loop. The community center is well kept, the bathrooms are cleaned. It is definitely a good space to have a party for kids especially if they want to utilize the playground or Splash pad. If you are hosting a party during the colder months, then you may need to find some activities inside. I think they have several rooms that you can rent from. The one that we were in did not have carpet, some people like the carpet feel for some parties (like baby shower), but I thought the space was plentiful for a kid's birthday party. The kids were able to run around, play musical chairs and plenty of room for an entertainer.

Or they give you weekday times to tour that are in the middle of the day. They stopped responding to my emails and never answered their personal lines that are included in their email signature. HOW FRUSTRATING! Either you don't want my business in reserving for an event. Or you're discriminating against me in not responding to my emails. My boyfriend and I emailed the facility tech Alejandro Ochoa (gochoa@sanramon.ca.gov), the rec coordinator James Spielvogel (jspielvogel@sanramon.ca.gov), and program specialist Nargess Anwar (nanwar@sanramon.ca.gov). They only responded at the very beginning and never responded back when I was serious enough to come an tour. We submitted a form to rent the center for our event. NOTHING BACK. It's been 10 days and counting since we've gotten any response. Don't give them your business. The city (or whoever is responsible) needs to hire people who are competent enough to answer their emails and phones so that they can get business in renting our their facility.

Saneta and her team were great to work with from day one; we were able to tour the venue early on, go over quotes and figure out what worked with our budget & even attend an event where we could sample dinner options and meet with vendors! We truly had the best time on our big day and everything came together perfectly on the day of. Canyon View's team worked great with our wedding coordinator/planner and all of our other vendors. The venue is simple, elegant & spacious, and you can truly tailor it to whatever you dream of. The outdoor area where we had our ceremony has a beautiful view as well. We received endless compliments from our guests on our venue, how everything came together & the event as a whole. We could not be more thankful to have celebrated one of the biggest days of our lives at Canyon View.

Saneta was the Cal State certified event planner . Before the meeting she e mailed us and called us to remind us "'don't be late " . We arrived 5 minutes early and were greeted by her lovely assistant. We were informed to wait a little while and we ended up waiting 20 minutes . No apologies. Sandra met us when she was done with the last client . We were wondering why stressed so much about " on time " while she could not keep the appointment as scheduled. The venue is beautiful, nicely devoted with big Wi downs and screen so you could appreciate the sunshine and green lawn outside . It was also big enough to accommodate 200 - 250 guests . It has a big dance floor , outdoor area to have a wedding ceremony and a fountain . The basic cost of the venue was the cheapest compared to other . However, they have a detailed list of renting cost every single item ( like dessert bowls , chair cover , dessert spoons, cocktail table , etc ) . I have enclosed a list for your reference. I would not recommend to come to this venue for the hidden costs and inconvenience. We did not appreciate the dinner banquet was only Buffett style . Saneta told us that they did not have the staffs and time to do table service. We were expecting an elegant dining banquet and were quite disappointed.

As soon as we were met by a Docent in period dress the mood was set. Walking over the bridge to the house she started to tell the history of the Glass Family and the Valley as it was in 1877. Stepping though the door is really a step back in time. The nine room house is decorated as it would have been when the Glass family lived there. Everyone of the nine rooms was clean and not a bit of dust could be seen on the many knickknacks that the Victorians adorned their homes with. Everything in the house is original to the period. While the rugs, wallpaper, and some of the fabrics on furniture are new, they are all period reproductions. The knowledge that the two docents, Pat and Kim, shared was amazing. In addition to the story of the Glass family and the San Ramon Valley, they peppered their talk with some CA. history. I came away with even more of an appreciation of women in the 19th century working in those long dresses There is a connection between the Glass family and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. You will have to take a tour with either Pat or Kim to get the rest of the story.

I was a part of the planning committee and had a chance to work directly with the staff. Every person I interacted with was a true pleasure, professional, and extremely kind. The staff was really communicative and helpful throughout the process. I was extremely impressed on the day of the event. The planning team and the point of contact was always so responsive and thoughtful to the planning of the event. It really took away the stress and anxiety when it comes to planning a company event for 400 people. They helped us coordinate every step of the way. We got a chance to tour the facility, which it gave us a great idea of the layout and amenities. The day of the event was very fun and ran smoothly. We had someone help us with check in and also was there to greet each guest. She was a very lovely girl who was so helpful and welcoming to the guest by letting them know the amenities and schedule for the day. The staff all had blue shirts, which was easy to spot them and every one of them was so friendly. The food was really wonderful and we're so happy we chose the option we did. There was potato salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, salad, beans, pesto salad, and rolls. The staff was very accommodating at the venue, they made sure to have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. To top it all off, we had yummy snow cones that came in cherry red and tropical blue. The kids had really seemed to love the snow cones. We opted to have an open bar feature at the event, which the guests enjoyed beer and wine options. The venue was really beautiful and the trees provided much needed coverage from the summer sun. There were plenty of picnic tables for people to sit in various areas of the park. There were activities that included, bocce ball, swimming pool, horseshoe games, rock climbing wall, inflated golf course, bouncy house, basketball court, and volleyball court. This was such an amazing event and we had so much positive feedback from guests. The staff was really sweet and sent us a gift basket during Christmas. We hope for the opportunity to work with them again. I highly recommend this venue for events!
