When our puppy did too many accidents in our upstairs area, we replaced the hallway and master bedroom with Kardean Luxury Vinyl Tile. At the time, Exploring Flooring did not glue down LVT and only had the lock down type, so we used another company. We love the livability and washability of Luxury Vinyl Tile. Our friend who installs these floors commercially recommended the Kardean brand and to do the glue down version. He was spot on. Recently, I had a measuring done to either refinish our downstairs cherrywood floors or cover them with Kardean vinyl. Tom came out right away but got confused as to my email address. I think they need a company email address, because we played a bit of email tag trying to communicate. Some things that I wonder about. The other company that came out was willing to fix up some not so great areas with new cherrywood trim--ie around half bath vanity that has bare gap areas at bottom and fp that has a very large gap around it (EF said for me to use some type of expandable filler but I think that will be ugly in a inch or more gap). EF also said they don't install new quarter round trim around floor which is a nice touch another place does as standard. You could always hire it out, I suppose. The cherrywood trim pieces is more of an issue for me. Exploring Flooring's quote for refinishing our cherrywood is around $900 less than the other place, so I guess it equals out. The other place wanted $5400 for about a 530 square foot area, so I thought that was a bit pricey. Exploring Flooring is $4500. As far as luxury vinyl quote to glue down Kardan on top of the hardwood, I'm still waiting, but the quote to float Kardean tile on top of the existing floor (an option, but not my fav) is the same as the other company. However, no particular type of Kardean is mentioned, even though I requested the quote on Tergo. All in all, a bit of a hassle to get specifics, but may be a great option overall, if overall pricing is better.

Tom Beeter is a very experienced manager level professional who worked with me on my purchase. Tom has tons on knowledge about design plus technical performance and installation topics. He obviously takes pride in providing a high end result. He's also soft spoken and not pushy at all, which I really don't care for in sales interactions. He came to my home a few times to measure and double check, and ensured that my dishwasher and fridge wouldn't be landlocked by the new flooring. I was equally impressed by Joe and his installation team - consummate professionals with tons of experience, and the dedication to provide a high end result without cutting any corners. Between Tom and Joe, I felt that I was dealing with high integrity guys who genuinely care about the customer and the job. To keep this review as balanced as possible, I'd just note that you should be prepared for sawdust with the installation of a new wood floor. You might ask about getting somewhat thicker plastic and a somewhat tighter seal over the doors to the work area. Realistically they can't do a really tight seal because they need to go in and out. All in all, I am delighted with this company and will definitely turn to them again for any future flooring needs.

Since having three main living area floors completed, I have had Century Tile remodel two of my bathrooms. These were complete remodels- floor, walls, vanity, sink, minor plumbing( toilet and faucets). Words cannot describe how pleasant it is to work with Mike and Christy. Christy always makes sure all materials are ordered and delivered on time prior to the job and can always be trusted to lean you in the correct direction both in terms of style and quality. Mike, their project coordinator, is beyond great. Just as with the first job, he is always a phone call or text away to answer any questions. He also send the best people he has to complete the job, both in terms of skills needed as well as adhering to your timeline. I am a real estate broker and I own a property management company and had been using another window…read moretreatment company for our properties for about 5 years. Over time, the customer service with this company rapidly declined, while their pricing began to sky-rocket. About three years ago, I searched Yelp for an alternative and reached out to several different companies that I could potentially switch over to that could replace my existing vendor, and Mike from Automated Window Treatments impressed me the most, so I decided to give him a shot. Three years and about 20 jobs later, they are the only company that I use now. Here are my TOP reasons for making the switch and sticking with AWT: #1: For the exact same products and services that I was receiving from my previous vendor, I am now paying about 35%-40% less than I was paying to my previous vendor. #2: Not that my previous vendor provided "poor" customer service, but the customer service that I now receive from AWT is noticeably better. #3: The turn-around time from "order to install" from my previous vendor was anywhere from 8-12 weeks...The turn-around time from AWT has consistently been about half of that, if not less. With AWT, our orders are usually available for installation in roughly 4-5 weeks, at the most. #4: Although most window treatment companies offer some sort of warranty on their products and services, those warranties eventually run out, and then inevitably there will eventually be some sort of issue such as a chain breaking, the shades coming off of the roller, the clutch breaking from over-use, etc. With my previous window treatment company, their response to me was ALWAYS that it could not be fixed, and that we would need to order an entirely new shade roller and assembly for that window, which is expensive, especially for things that I felt could have been fixed fairly easily, but then again, I am not an expert on window treatment repairs. When I initially hired AWT, I had three separate properties with broken roller shades that I had asked them to come by and give me an estimate to replace them, since my previous vendor who had originally installed all three of these, had already told me that the only option was to replace them, and that they couldn't be fixed. Mike from AWT came by to give me a replacement estimate, but after visiting all three properties, he informed me (to my surprise) that he could easily repair all three of these blinds for a fraction of what it would cost to replace them. A week or two later, he had repaired all three of the blinds at these properties, and probably saved me (and my clients) around $2,500 by taking the time to repair these blinds rather than just telling me that they needed to be replaced so that he could try to sell me three brand new shade assemblies...This was amazing! I would highly recommend Automated Window Treatments to you, as I already DO recommend them to all of my clients.

I bought a Groupon for an 8-room cleaning and scheduled an appointment a week in advance. The appointment was for any time during a two-hour window between 1 PM and 3 PM. We stayed around waiting all the way until 6 PM. We called both numbers listed on their web site and left voicemails at each asking to call us back and let us know what was going on. Still no response. I'm glad Groupon offers refunds. I do still need the carpets cleaned, of course. I think this time around I'll just pick a well-reviewed place here on Yelp and pay normal price - much more worth it than wasting hours of my life waiting on a no-show.
