The…read morereason is that the barrier to entry in the retail mattress industry is so low - getting into the business is fast and easy, and for their storefront locations all they need is an empty room in which they can lay out their mattresses ... there is no buildout necessary for a new location, so they appear quickly and can disappear just as fast. Another reason is that they take up excess space for short times while the owner is looking for a more permanent tenant. Out here in Orland Park there much be two dozen mattress stores, almost to the point of being a bit funny. We stopped in at an American Mattress store because they are one of the few with some name recognition. First we went to the 9392 West 159th Street store and then to the 13119 South LaGrange Street store - they are about four miles apart. We went to both because what we wanted to see wasn't at the first. Anyway, long story short, they were both very nice. We liked the prices and the low-pressure sales. No complaints. We bought two mattresses.

I'm a bigger guy, so needed to make sure I got good support / firmness while still getting that plush feeling. Once ordered he was communicative with me the whole time and helped push my delivery through, within 2 days of my order.

At first, I was a little hesitant towards mattress companies as I feel that salesman often work to serve their best interest rather than finding a mattress which is the best fit, physically and economically, for each individual. Mickey could not have been more personable, genuine and helpful when it came to making that decision. He was the exact opposite of pushy and made the process a breeze from start to finish. He was very transparent and attentive by providing any and all updates, as needed, and was very accommodating considering we made the purchase in Illinois for our move to Washington. Even though it was an oddball situation, Mickey stayed on top of the supply chain remotely to ensure an expedited delivery. I haven't written a Yelp review before, but I just felt the need to really recognize Mickey's diligence and honesty throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend this store and Mickey to anyone in the area and I can guarantee you that he will do everything in his power to make sure you get the best mattress tailored to you.

Our sales rep was great, he taught us a lot about mattresses and sleep. I had no idea what a mattress set would cost and was very surprised at Mattress Firm's pricing. We found one we liked and ordered it. I've had buyers remorse ever since and almost cancelled the delivery several times since we spent well over $3K. The delivery crew was fast, efficient and professional. My bed is not broken in yet so I am going to wait until the 60 day mark to make my decision. We received great service but Mattress Firm is expensive. Shopping around laying on mattress after mattress is no fun, but it's worth it. Do your homework.
