They sent him to Dr. Jiao and he told my parents that the dog is not overweight but has bad joints and arthritis and will never walk again, and he put my poor dog on medication for the rest of his life. After hearing this from my parents and arguing with them to try and convince them that Dr Jiao is a typical money hungry lying sneaky pig who knows more than well my dog is overweight, I put my foot down and began to feed the dog myself. I put him on a strict lean meat diet one meal a day and cut all the medication and within 3 weeks my dog is running around full of life happy as can be. Send your pets to this clown at you own risk.

Dr. Jiao made sure Lucky was comfortable on the last night of his life, and his vet techs looked after Lucky all night, until we got to see him the next morning. Lucky had been sick for a while, but our last vet was unable to diagnose Lucky's illness, which we found out from Dr. Jiao was likely cancer. Dr. Jiao went into detail on how/why Lucky's last vet may have missed the cancer, even though it was obvious that he was suffering from something, and Dr. Jiao let us know that there wasn't much we could've done to prevent this. Thanks for explaining everything and taking good care of Lucky.

Dr. Sills and his staff are exceptional in the services they provide. Dr. Sills is compassionate,…read moreattentive, and an excellent veterinarian. I have been blessed to afford Dr. Sills for the past 26 years to take the best care possible of my baby boy Precious who is a blue and gold macaw. Dr. Sills provides unprecedented quality of care services not only to my boy Precious, but to whoever brings in their babies (your pets) for emergency or routine services, they will receive the high standards of quality care that I have had for my baby boy Precious in the past 26 years. I would highly recommend Petchester Veterinary Practice to whom ever is seeking veterinarian services at an affordable price and the highest of standards for medical quality of care.

Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff and medication management was much different. Messages often went unanswered, prescription approvals took days, and this happened more than once. Despite ordering my dog's heart medication before he ran out, I ended up having to purchase additional pills out of pocket from the office to avoid a lapse in medication while waiting for approvals. For routine medications, especially those that are critical, communication and timely processing are just as important as the medical care itself. I hope the practice improves this aspect of their service.

I recently adopted a dog and wanted to get him neutered. I made an appointment with VCA for a…read morepre-op checkup, even though I had provided paperwork that stated he was healthy and good for the procedure. The doctor examined my dog and brought him to the back room to get some blood work done before scheduling for his operation. In most cases, don't they usually do the blood work in front of you..? Anyways..during the pre-op, the doctor stated that my dog had a condition where one of his testicles was retained, but that he was still able to go on with the procedure. I made the appointment and was given a quote of $450, which was also confirmed by the vet. The day comes where I have to drop my dog off. One of the staff members brings me a run down of the procedure and tells me it would cost $562+ because of the retained testicle. I told the staff that I was given a quote of $450 and he stated that they were not able to do the procedure for that amount. He basically told me to pay up or go somewhere else. I should've gone somewhere else, but chose to stay, mainly because I wanted the procedure done. I'm writing this review because I felt it was unprofessional of the staff to quote me a price knowing the condition of my dog and then changing the price at the last minute. VCA is in the service of saving animals and making it affordable for all. I'll know for next time to find a place that cares about a dog's well being and not so much about collecting money. What a shame, VCA. Update: manager called me the day of the procedure and apologized for the miscommunication. Refunded me the extra cost. Thank you much Elissa. You are an excellent example of superb customer service.
