Drinks included an orange blossom martini, aperol spritz and house wine. Our friend is a vegan who frequents the restaurant often. He got sautéd spinach w/ marinara and potatoes. I got the sole franchise. The sauce was a little on the thin side, but very tasty and huge portions. I will have one for lunch tomorrow. Hubby ordered sole oregonata. Seeing as how he didn't offer any or leave any behind, it was delicious. All dinners came with salads and we got the potatoes and sautéed yellow squash. We sat for a while and I ended up with the coconut cake because it looked yummy (it was) and our friend for an espresso and raspberry sorbet. This hidden gem had been around for a long time with good reason. Stop in and find out for yourself. Also, on Wednesday's they offer 20% off if you pay cash (do make a reservation-it gets packed!) Service as always was very professional. They leave you to enjoy your meal and show up with awesome food and drinks.

I had the ravioli special, my don the sausage and pepper pizziola and my wife the eggplant. Portions were large and well made. For dessert my son hs the lava cake and I had the carrot cake WHICH WAS OUTSTANDING! One of the best I've ever eaten, both homemade. Service was friendly and efficient. Walking into this place is like going back in time to the 80's. The whole place could use a face lift but that is what makes it endearing. The bar dining area is very cozy, perfect for couples. The main dining room is large and can handle large parties. I only have two negative observations, first they are an Italian restaurant but don't serve cappuccino, second their wine selection is limited and frankly not very impressive. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the region looking for some very good Italian food.

A few other favorites - penne alla Theodora, Waldorf salad, or a twisted Jack sandwich. A recurring special - crabby sea bass - if I see it on the menu, I make a special trip for it, and any time you see crab cakes- they don't skimp. If one of George's daughters is there to help you, you will be treated well with a warm smile and enthusiasm. Great dining room to rent for small parties and have had them cater a few times - well worth the cost. A gem in Wharton.

Spotless and well laid out. Once you order they bring out the most amazing hot bread, homemade and absolutely delicious. Entree portions were very generous. The Chicken burrata special was delicious with a creamy sauce and balsamic Demi glaze. The gyro platter was perfect and definitely could have fed 2 people. Pricing was on point and the service was excellent. It's worth a trip just for that hot, delicious bread. 5 stars all day.

Rockaway Borough was formed in 1894 from portions of the larger neighboring Township from which it…read moreshares it's name. The name "Rockaway" is derived from a Native American term having various meanings; "place of sands", "creek between two hills", and "difficult to cross". Morris County has 16 Boroughs located within it and you'll find none better and more interesting than the Borough of Rockaway which also just happens to be located 25 miles West of N.Y.C. The Rockaway River runs through the center of Town and has been a historical trout fishing destination for just about every angler with a rod & reel in Northern New Jersey. Department of Fish and Game regularly stock this River with trout as well as The local P.B.A. & businesses which sponsor an annual Fishing Tournament. Winners that catch large trout with removable tags on them receive cash, prizes and local notoriety. Several abandoned mines are located here from years back when iron ore was a major export and there are some folks that have gone spelunking in search of some adventurous opportunities. However, Do Not Call Me to come and retrieve you out of any of these as I've since retired from my spelunking expeditions a long time ago. As my Friend and Yelp Colleague "Jersey N" has already pointed out, the Borough is Full of Amazing local Mom and Pop businesses that help define this Town to be a quaint place that is second to none for dining, shopping, adventuring, and living in.
