    Italian Nachos
    Christina A.

Finally got to try this wonderful place! The food was very good! Martinis were very good! The one thing we were confused about was the Italian nachos said topped with veal sauce but seemed to just be veal and salsa, none the less still good but if you're expecting sauce that's not the case. The Tartufo was probably one of the best ones I've ever had; the raspberry sauce was amazing!

What a great pour of Patron!

Nice old school traditional type of restaurant that is very comfortable & casual inside with a wonderful Italian menu! This place has been open for decades & you can tell as you enter it. The wait staff has worked there for many years & know the menu well & are great at making recommendations. We started with the garlic shrimp & escargot - wow - the sauces they came with were amazing! The crusty bread was a perfect accompaniment to the apps - my husband devoured both our pieces! Entrees - Veal with spinach & mozzarella cheese was tender & tasty & my husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken cordon bleu which he ordered after reading Yelper Bill M.'s review (thanks Bill!). Great place - will definitely be back!

Old school Italian. Ugh! Hate doing this. However, service was nothing less than abrupt. Drinks are well done. Clams on the the half shell. Yum! Stuffed cabbage-not hot enough but great flavor. Sole (questionable?) livornese. Again. Great flavor. Wrong temperature. Too cool! Waitress not warm and fuzzy. Didn't even ask about dessert, etc. So. Not. Cool. Want to love this place. Will try again. Cool old school Italian feel.

    Penne vodka a la Charlotte

Loved everything! Started with the clams casino and the fried green tomatoes. Asked for some ranch on the side for the tomatoes. Both were amazing and their ranch is insane! House Italian salads were good as well as the bread. Entrees were the chicken cordon Bleu, chicken scarpariello, carlo's country chicken, and the penne vodka. All were amazing but there is a reason they underline that the penne vodka is a cream sauce, as the tomatoes are chopped and added in and not a base of the sauce - so not what you would traditionally expect from a vodka sauce. I couldn't decide between the Alfredo and the vodka sauce so this was perfect for me.

Family owned, salad and bread included, large portions, friendly staff. We go 10 times a year. Never disappointing.

I understand I am paying for convenience but tonights experience showed zero appreciation for a consistent high tipping customer. I accidentally selected pickup instead of delivery in the app. When I realized the mistake (after an hour unfortunately) I immediately called the restaurant to correct it. The woman who answered put me on hold then came back on the line and casually said she was too busy to change the order to delivery newly offering "yea it's been sitting here a while". No attempt to help no manager offer nothing. Just too busy. After hundreds of dollars and reliable tips the least I expect is basic customer service especially when fixing a simple app mistake would have taken 30 seconds. Instead I was dismissed like an inconvenience. This level of indifference is unacceptable. If you cannot accommodate a long term customer who has helped keep the lights on you do not deserve the loyalty. I will be taking my business and my tips elsewhere. Disappointed long time customer. I am providing photos of purchases to show that I am not exaggerating.

We brought our family this time and Liigino's was just as good if not better this visit. We had fried calamari and shrimp, meatballs, mozzarella with tomato for appetizers. The atmosphere was beautiful and everyone that works here is so pleasant. Can't wait to go back.

The inside is super cute and lots of floral motifs and it reminded me of Italy. It's a little cramped (tables close together) and very loud inside. The waitress was super friendly and attentive, ice water brought over immediately. Food came out so quick. Huge portions!!! I got chicken parm and it was enough for 4 people. Best chicken parm I have had in a while. The mozzarella cheese tasted like fresh mozzarella, super good quality and the tomato sauce was sweet but not too sweet, it's a really solid tomato sauce. My friend got the wild boar pasta and we shared both dishes. The pasta was huge as well and enough for 3 people to share. So much meat in it! Super soft and tender. A bit salty but I still really liked it. Both meals were like a warm comforting hug. Prices great for portion size. Would come back again!

The strip mall itself isn't anything special, but the surrounding area is beautiful , and once you're inside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. I hope everyone who works here is paid well and enjoys what they do, because they're running the place exactly how a restaurant should be run. It feels like a true community staple somewhere that transports you a bit and makes the whole experience feel special. Lovely all around.

Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.
