After calling in a tow truck back to Wells, feeling like our trip was ruined, we got word that a team of mechanics were en route with another replacement van and were going to repair the original van in order to get themselves back home. By the next day we were on our way and feeling renewed on our adventure! The Hop Shops service was expedient, friendly (helped me switch all our many things and gear to the new van), and very good mechanics as they fixed the van on the go! Our family got to know these great folks during our time together and we can confidently say these are great people that care. This is a man that cares about his work & his customers…read more I've lived in the Boise area since March & not one friend could give me the name of a trustworthy reasonable mechanic. I tried using Yelp to help find a shop that had high ratings & mostly positive reviews. I had a shop (Walter @ Mac's Automotive) convince me that replacing my rear end assembly instead of rebuilding the differential would be more cost-effective due to labor & parts. Initially quoted me $2300 ($1700 for the rear end) + $500 for 2 sensors that had to be replaced (told me that I had to do all 4). Ended up having Scott tow my truck from that shop to his & I told him what The prior shop had told me. To my surprise, Scott came back that same day quoting me $1300 for the rebuild. Then he mentioned the sensors & expressed their importance but I didn't have to do all 4. All said & done........$1655 out the door! Thank God For Perfection Drivetrain!

He flipped a u-turn at the light and his whole engine seized up. 5:30 am was a terrible time to get a phone call about what happened. Luckily AAA was able to get a wonderful tow service company to drive us to Tim's to drop off the car. I had found Tim's on Yelp with great reviews. Never had been there but knew of it, as we have drove passed it a few dozen times before. It was also convenient because it was right down the street from the hotel where my dad was staying. We made it there 5 minutes after opening. I went in while my dad finished up with the tow truck. I explained the situation. They were understanding of the but apologetic, as they were fully booked till Monday next week! My heart sunk. However, they told me they could get the car a diagnostic test to see what the problem was, since it was early enough to get it looked at. Apparently there were a few other people from out of town needing their car fixed just as quick as we needed our done. At that point I figured we would just have it towed to another shop. Jeff and (I believe) Ray were the ones who helped us. They were extremely friendly and gracious. I received a call as a back up, around 2pm. They found the issue. Minor compared to what we thought it was. They said since it was a smaller repair they could have the parts and car fixed by 4:30!!! I was ecstatic. They knew our dyer situation and were able to work it out. My dad was so grateful for the speedy service they provided. We took it to Porsche which they determined there was too much oil and removed it all which we paid $250. I would not recommend this place poor customer service.

They left their jump box on the battery with two by fours with my battery laying on the side in the back of my car, the battery and alternator been working great since speedometer does not work, they forgot to hook it up. When last year I began having drive system problems I tried this AAMCO because it was close to work. Initially they could not detect the problem so there was no charge. In a return visit they diagnosed the problem as a driveline and repaired it quickly at significantly below dealer cost. 6 months later the problem returned. They found the front differential was failing and could not determine if the previous bad driveline caused the differential problem or if the differential caused the driveline. Due to the age of the vehicle they proposed a used differential and covered another NEW DRIVELINE ON THEM, because possibly they missed it being caused by the differential. When the parts jobber shipped a higher cost refurbished differential instead of the one ordered, THEY MADE THE PARTS JOBBER HONOR THE ORIGINAL PRICE. Rarely do you find chain stores with such high quality and ethics. A recent bad experience with an dealership repair has made me choose to take all non warranty car repair to this AAMCO. I fully recommend them for high quality, speed and economical repair.

Backyard mechanic fixed problem by cleaning the positive battery cable. battery cable was loose enough that it could be taken off by hand and ultimate transmission stated that they had tightened and checked battery terminals. I give them the grade of F for service, honesty, and professionalism. I showed the Loose battery connection to Dave before I left the shop. He was aware of their mistakes and held my truck hostage until I paid the bill. An outright crook. Although they put a floormat on the carpet, the edge beside the seat was covered in grease.
