Over the years most repair I typically have done myself or use a neighborhood friend mechanic for…read morethe big jobs. When last year I began having drive system problems I tried this AAMCO because it was close to work. Initially they could not detect the problem so there was no charge. In a return visit they diagnosed the problem as a driveline and repaired it quickly at significantly below dealer cost. 6 months later the problem returned. They found the front differential was failing and could not determine if the previous bad driveline caused the differential problem or if the differential caused the driveline. Due to the age of the vehicle they proposed a used differential and covered another NEW DRIVELINE ON THEM, because possibly they missed it being caused by the differential. When the parts jobber shipped a higher cost refurbished differential instead of the one ordered, THEY MADE THE PARTS JOBBER HONOR THE ORIGINAL PRICE. Rarely do you find chain stores with such high quality and ethics. A recent bad experience with an dealership repair has made me choose to take all non warranty car repair to this AAMCO. I fully recommend them for high quality, speed and economical repair.

For the most part, I have had decent luck going to other local mechanics in the area, with a couple of glaring exceptions, but decided to check out Auto Surgeon since it's pretty close to where I live. And now, I won't go anywhere else. Kevin, the owner, is a fantastic guy who has always done right by me. He's an excellent mechanic who has worked on at least four of my vehicles over the years. The other employees who work there are also knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. You would be foolish not to give Auto Surgeon a try the next time you need your vehicle repaired.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Valvoline. After an oil change, I discovered an…read moreissue with my vehicle that ultimately led to damage to my car. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the constantly changing explanation I received from the staff. When I initially brought my vehicle in, I was never informed of any scratches, dents, or damage to the drain pan. Later, after returning to have the issue looked at again, I was suddenly told that my drain pan was scratched and dented. If that damage was supposedly there when I first came in, why was I never told about it? At that point, because the explanations weren't adding up, I filed a claim through Valvoline and returned to speak with the manager. The manager repeatedly suggested that I must have hit something. I know my own vehicle and would certainly know if I had hit an object. Eventually, he told me there was nothing he could do unless I took the vehicle to a mechanic. I took it to Larry H. Miller, where they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damage was consistent with a previous oil change. I brought all of the documentation back to Valvoline and showed it to the manager. He spent some time on the phone with his manager, only to come back and tell me that they supposedly didn't have enough evidence to do anything. What made this even more frustrating was that the manager later told me that Valvoline had done everything correctly. I pointed out that the drain plug had been reinstalled cracked, and he told me that wasn't what happened and that it was actually my drain pan that was cracked. I later found out that statement was not accurate either. At no point did I feel like anyone was genuinely taking responsibility or trying to make this right. The manager offered no compensation or meaningful resolution. Instead, he repeatedly apologized and told me that this was a "training opportunity" for him as a manager. While I understand that mistakes can be learning experiences, that does nothing to address the fact that my vehicle was damaged and I was left to deal with the consequences. I gave Valvoline multiple opportunities to investigate this situation and provided documentation from another automotive shop, yet I was ultimately left with no resolution. The inconsistent explanations, lack of accountability, and complete lack of customer support throughout this process have left me extremely disappointed. I will not be returning to Valvoline, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering using them think twice and thoroughly inspect their vehicle before leaving.
