I signed up for a membership here a few months ago and I've had only good experiences with the salon. The beds are a bit outdated BUT the bulbs are strong and they work well:) Along with the beds I've also received a spray tan from Trish. The color came out great and she was super nice and comfortable to be around (which is definitely important when you're standing around without clothes on and getting sprayed, lol)! The color was a little dark but she mentioned that she would go dark and then tone it down the next time if I wanted. The staff is always really friendly. I've used both the Livermore and Tracy locations. Both have very friendly and helpful staff. I use the Livermore location more often since that's where I live. My only complaint is most of the beds don't get any radio stations or will only get one or two stations in fuzzy. But that definitely doesn't outweight the service and quality for me. When you sign a contract it works out to only $20 a month, which is super cheap. I don't recommend going between 5 and 6 because they get an after work rush, but if you wait until later in the evening you can usually get a bed right away. read more

Down Under Tanning - the only place I will tan! Their salon is very clean and their lotion selection is great. The Owner is an absolute doll and is also very good at the spray tanning she does there. I prefer to tan in the beds, but if you're looking for a great spray tan, you can get that at Down Under too! The girls at the front counter are sweet and professional for the most part. For those who have commented about the staff, keep in mind, 99.9% of them are high schoolers. Enough said. read more

The service has definitely gone down over the last few months. Thinking about canceling not worth paying when they never have available beds other then the level 1., and it usually isn't because they're busy. A lot of the radios on the beds don't work and about 1 out of every 4 times I come they try to put me in a room that doesn't have a working lock. read more

It's been a few years since I went tanning, so when I decided to try it again, they were very helpful in helping me decide how many minutes I should go in for and which beds I should try so that I don't burn. $19.99 per month for the level 1 bed but you get member pricing when you decide to try the other beds :) I found out that they have a Tracy location and your membership extends to that location too! Nice clean beds and if you go during the "non-rush" (around 12-1pm & 5-7pm) hours you will have no waiting time. Sometimes they have promotions with their lotions but I buy mine online. read more

The staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable on what they're doing! They'll let you know if a bed has new bulbs installed, and will suggest adjusting your time accordingly, and sure enough, with the same results. I went to down under tanning for an airbrush tan. They were able to accommodate my last minute request and we very friendly. I was a little nervous at first about airbrushing but the staff was very professional and made me feel super comfortable. It only took about 20 minutes and saw the difference right away. I let the tan develop over night and once I showered, my tan was amazing!! Very natural looking and just the perfect "glow" I was looking for! Highly recommend, will definitely be back! Been tanning at this Salon since I was 16 years old and it has been the best salon i have ever been to! Cheap Prices amazing customer service and the bulbs in the beds are always being changed so I always come out looking bronze! They carry really good lotions Designer Skin is my favvvvorite brand and they have them there! also the Hemp lotions are my favorite and very hard to find but they have them there as well! I went in to this tanning salon thinking it was a different one, when I realized my friends who I was supposed to meet weren't there I figured I was at the wrong place. After I told the woman at the front desk of my situation and how my friends and I were going to get a deal at another tanning salon where it was buy 1 for 15.99 she offered to match my price and was more than nice about the situation. I love this place! Everyone has been SO friendly and seems to be really knowledgeable about the beds! I've had bad experiences at other places mostly with customer service so I am REALLY big on that! They were also very helpful letting me know that I could tan at the Down Under in Tracy as well under the same plan. So, when I can't make it on my lunch hour here... Why a 5 star? Well I have been going to Down Under off and on for about 10 years. After a 5 year break from bed tanning and only doing spray tanning I was headed to Miami for a vacation and decided a sunburn wasn't something I wanted so had better go get a base tan. I was surprised to see a new owner and new decor. It had changed from a typical tanning salon (that was awesome then too but different look) to a very relaxing spa feel. I had a few tans left from many years ago but assumed with a new owner I would just have to buy them again and was fine with that. The new owner told me she would look me up and to my surprise my tans left from 2007 were still in her system!! As was the case with the previous owner, she cautioned me about using the least amount of time to avoid a burn. After 2 tans I was making progress but my last tan I saw literally no difference. I casually mentioned it to the owner and she insisted I get a free tan for it. What a great way to handle the situation. It wasn't necessary and I insisted I just would pay for another but she wouldn't have it. In the end, I wasn't a sunburned mess in Miami and for that I am very grateful. You truly can't go wrong taking their lead on how long and how often you can go, they don't oversell or let you to too crazy and burn yourself. I will be continuing to use them far into the future to ensure I don't burn in the sun. read more

I've been going here on and off for years. It is a clean facility, friendly staff, and they have plenty of regular beds. I usually use the "mega" bed which can sometimes get busy, but with a max time of 15 minutes, I've never had to wait too long. Not sure how I feel about down under anymore. The beds are out dated, they have fans next to the beds because the tanning bed fans don't work well. My towel smelled funny a few times, kind of like BO, it was weird. I tanned at down under for two+ months and I hardly see a color difference, not sure if it's worth the money. read more

I have been coming here for a very long time. I have always been satisfied with the facility and the service. The salon is clean, the beds are good quality, the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly. There have been a couple of times when we found a discrepancy regarding how many sessions I thought I had remaining, compared to what their records indicated. The owner, Trish, was professional and courteous. She adjusted my account and did not hesitate to give me the benefit of the doubt when I felt an error had been made. I really appreciate how she treated me. She is a great business owner. Sadly I didn't get the names of the women who helped me out but they were so welcoming and explained thoroughly all the different packages they have. I've been going for a week now and all the employees and even customers are extremely friendly. The beds are working perfectly and give me a even tan throughout.
