Will never recommend. Needed a windshield replaced. Went to them because they had a good deal on the windshield I needed. And also had a deal of getting a $25 Amazon Gift card. Made my appointment, man showed up and replaced the windshield and informed me the gift card would be mailed to be next week. Month goes by with nothing. I called and asked about it and every time I called, they either transferred me to someone who never answered, said they'd get right on it, call me back, etc. All of which never happened. 2 months later, still being told the exact same thing as before. While this was happening, last week I started hearing whistling noises in my car. I took it into the shop and was told the windshield wasn't put on properly. Because it has been extremely frustrating to deal with this company, I contacted someone else and but the bullet and paid to have it fixed elsewhere. I went to this company not because of a free gift card, but it was a nice little incentive on top of the price they had for replacement. But, not only did they not even do the replacement correctly, they made up a gimmick to get more customers to come to them that they clearly had no plan on following through with. If you make a promise, follow through with it. I could care less about getting a gift card, but I expect that if a promise is made it's kept. Terrible customer service, awful product and just plain liars. Absolutely do not fall for their gimmicks and prices. You will absolutely regret it. read more

I am writing this review in order to inform the public about my experience working with Downeast Glass, and a subsidiary/partner of theirs called New Hampshire Glass. I had a windshield replacement completed by this company, with accompanying warranty on the product and service. A few months later, the windshield suddenly cracked in a few different places, likely due to a lack of seal in the corner of the windshield. No impact occurred, and an independent expert provided me with a diagnosis of shoddy service on the windshield. As I was promised a warranty on the windshield, I called Downeast Glass and asked them to come take a look. I then proceeded to hear a number of excuses, including but not limited to: - Their "system was down", and therefore they couldn't give me any information - Their subsidiary/partner, New Hampshire Glass, had gone out of business (despite the fact that Downeast Glass is credited on my billing statement) - After I conveyed my need, they began screening my calls - whenever I called on my primary line, the call went to voicemail, but when I used another number they magically picked up. Not only did they not fulfill their warranty promise, but they have seemingly used every tactic in the book to get rid of me and try to brush the problem under the rug. This is completely unacceptable, and will be reported to the BBB as well as every review site available. If Downeast would like to make right on their initial promise of a warranty and stand by the product they presume to offer expertise in, I'd be happy to discuss and revise my opinion, but until that point I will assume that this is nothing but sleazy tactics to try to make a quick buck off of people. **Update - The representative of the company I spoke to, Caroline, finally picked up the phone after I called from a different number. Instead of saying that their subsidiary, New Hampshire Glass, had closed, they now told me that their company had closed. rick and emily (both dishonest) installed a garage door for me. the mice don't even have to duck to get in this place. no handles. no weather strip. had to reinstall the bolt, install the handles, the rope, the weatherstrip, and replace the weatherstrip at the bottom of the door. they did leave the directions on the floor for me, thanks crooks. i think the door was used and rick and emily said too bad. these idiots will take your money and give you crap. read more

Best price in town for my particular vehicle, and that included coming to my home for installation. Some places wanted more for me to come to them. I was a half hour late and the technician waited, and was courteous about it. Whole procedure took about a half an hour and no mess was left or damage to my vehicle. Can't say I hope do to business with them again (who likes broken glass) ,but if I have to I would go to them over their competitors no doubt. I came to Downeast glass because their quote was 288$ opposed to the 400-500+ I'd been hearing. I now know why. I waited to write this review because I wanted to give the company a chance to correct their mistakes. Alas it has been weeks and I still have piss poor glass on my car, and an office of people not calling me back and dismissing me on the phone. I have been polite and feel hugely mistreated by this company. I regret not paying with my Mastercard, because I would have fought the charges and used my buyer protection at this point. When I first called for a quote, I was told by a pleasant woman on the phone what the price was, and that the glass was OEM and would be installed in my driveway. Due to a rain storm, the glass needed to be installed the next day in a parking lot while I was at work. I paid over the phone prior to seeing the glass, a mistake on my part. When I came to see the glass on my lunch break I was very upset. The glass does not fit the car, the bends and curves do not match up. The glass is dimpled along the base, and appears to be a slightly darker tint that the other windows. The bracket underneath is visible as the glass is mis-formed. On top of the bad fit, I have sealant smeared along the paint by my window. I immediately called and spoke to the manager, who I will leave nameless, who assured me the installer would be by tomorrow to assess the situation. The installer came by the next day. Stating that he hadn't noticed the ill fit or the sealant before, but that they would ix the situation. I asked him if the glass was OEM, as the stamp led me to believe otherwise. He sighed and said "It is OEM quality..." He assured me that the office would call me within the next day or two. A week goes by. I call. I am assured that they are working on getting a new piece of glass from the same distributor, and that this distributor is currently out. My glass was apparently defective. They wanted to wait to call in an actual OEM part from Toyota due to cost. Another week and a half go by. I call again. I again talk to the same manager who said she had talked to the manufacturer last week, She asked if she could call me back so she could call them again. I agreed. I never received a call back. I now have a beautiful car with a defective piece of glass that doesn't fit, and sealant smeared about. It doesn't leak however, and that is the only good thing I can say. read more

Best place to get your windshield replaced! I was searching everywhere since I damaged my windshield and couldn't have insurance to cover it and they were the lowest price anywhere. They came all the way down to Massachusetts where I worked and replaced it within 30 mins. Service was awesome, will definitely do business with again and will refer everyone to them! Do not use this service. Yes, they are the cheapest - for a reason. At first, I was just unimpressed by the mess left behind in my car by the technician, but I thought everything was ok with my windshield replacement. Then I had to get it replaced again a few months later to find that these guys had not done any prep work or primed and barely sealed the glass into place. I ended up with a lot of whistling on the highway and a ton of rust under windshield that I later had to have sanded off. The new service said they were surprised it held as long as it did and it would have popped off if I had gotten in the slightest accident. read more

This company is the worst. I chose them from a list of approved places that my insurance company gave me to chose from. I picked them because they had an office closest to me and I figured that it would get done fast and be the easiest. This company advertises that "in most cases it is a next day replacement" I waited a month!!!! They rescheduled me 2 times and then tried to come on a day that I didn't have an appointment scheduled and then left me 5 rude messages. The customer service was terrible and just as rude when I called back to try and get an actual appointment time. Then the next appointment I had, they just didn't show up or call. Finally they showed up on the fourth appointment that they gave me. The driver was lost and when the office called for directions, again they were rude!! They tried to charge me my 100.00 deductible even though it was supposed to be waived. In the end it did get waived. The technician used a reciprocating saw on my vehicle, left smashed glass inside, the installed the wrong windshield. My inspection sticker was placed on sideways and half torn!!! Pick anyone but this place!!! read more
