The brown is incredible and the pale and ipa were good. The kolsch was a surprise and I would order again. A very Colorado kind of place.

Pretty good beers but be advised you will not be served. There's tons of tables but if you're sitting at one you won't get served. They always seem under staffed so you're fighting everyone else in the place for the 1 bartender's attention to get a beer. If you want yummy beer and have no agenda, sure this place is fine. read more

The beer is the main reason you come here. There's a good variety, but their Puma IPA is the best in the area. The atmosphere is friendly and promotes interaction among patrons. I can come with a group or by myself and I'll always have a good time. Their staff is knowledgable, friendly and conversational. It's one of the better breweries for watching sporting events, especially in Parker. This is a good place to hang out on a Friday night or chill on a Sunday afternoon. read more

We are mug club members here and love the place. Monday has happy hour from 5-6 and you can get a flagship pint for just $3! Wednesdays they always tap a firkin that is some unique flavor twist on one of their normal beers. They usually have a food truck in the parking lot. When comparing the tap room itself and beer vs others in the denver/south denver area I will give it a 4. Beer is decent enough and the entertainment (TVs, pool table, music) is decent. But when comparing it to what else is offered in Parker (Hall Brewery's Tap Room) it's a 5 for sure! Their beer has gotten better over the last 4 months or so. Their seasonal's are very good and their IPA isn't bad either (drinkable). I think they have someone either full time or part time that came over from Dry Dock a couple of months ago so that might be the reason for the bump up in selection and taste. The tap room itself is nice. They have the usual, popcorn, pool table, board games, TVs. During the summer they have an outdoor patio and games out there as well. They usually have a food truck which my wife and I like for dinner and a beer. Hall's tap room does not at least for now. Their social media is pretty good to. They will tell you what their firkin is every Wednesday as well as any events or food trucks coming up. Overall, good atmosphere, good beer, a good time. Especially for Parker. read more

Came back after sometime absent. Had a Cocaireacht coffee stout which should be dumped down the drain; vinegar off taste with trace of coffee. The trip was saved by the elk horn stout which was a pretty decent stout. read more

I live in Parker and visit Elk Mountain pretty regularly. The beers have definitely improved over time to the point that I can always find any number of quality brews that I enjoy, and they also have an impressive number of their own beers on tap at any given time, and don't run out of anything nearly as often as the early days. I'm not wild about Uncle Fred's Franks being the food choice every single Friday, but it is what it is. My wife certainly won't be in a hurry to go there with me on Fridays for that reason, given that she also doesn't drink beer. The only thing that really kept me from giving five stars is the kids, my God, the kids. I know this is the fault of the parents and not the establishment, but come on folks - it's a BREWERY. Kids do not belong here! If the kids simply MUST be accommodated, it would be nice to have a separate bar area where only those over 21 could enter. I know several of my friends have the same observation about this place, so it's not just me. read more

An absolutely great establishment! We stopped off to check out the local brewery and we were very impressed. The setup is a little industrial with a scattering of light colored wood to give it a great aesthetic. The brewer and the assistant brewer came out and chatted with us for probably 30 minutes. They discussed what went into the different varieties and how they got into brewing. We ended up buying a growler of dampfbier before we left. The brewer told us the history of the brew and the taste was too good to pass up. They had a food truck that provided some burgers and appetizers but apparently they rotate through a bunch of trucks throughout the month. The folks running it when we went were fun and had a great sense of humor. Overall this was a great experience and I'd recommend it to anyone traveling through the area. read more

Staff is friendly enough, and the environment is sufficient. But the beer is just bad. I tried four beers before settling on an IPA, a go to style beer for me. It was just plain bad, could not find any flavor of hops and it's was just a dull maltiness. Only brewery I know of in Parker, but I won't visit again. read more

The beer wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. But the customer service was terrible! I think we only got served because we sat at the bar. The bartender was eating at the bar and slammed down my card and receipt for me to sign it. We then went to leave and she didn't even mutter a word. I would have at least liked a "thank you for coming in" or something like that, you know... basic customer service things. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

Love this place. Nice family atmosphere, yes kids are allowed, but please keep them in check. Food trucks regularly visit and are scheduled (give them a call). Their name is changing to Downhill Brewing and Elk Mountain is on the outside. Wonderful IPAs. Just swapped out an outstanding IPA called 5Alive, yes just like that citrus drink if you are old enough to remember it. New IPA is also outstanding. Next one up I have tried pre dry hop (not done) and still warm and flat but had a very nice flavor. They change out what's on tap pretty regularly. Try the Hybrid Moments IPA which is a double IPA and comes in at over 8% ABV. That high most will shy away from for the fear of alcohol flavor but I didn't get that from it. Nice and strong IPA. Website is not down they took it down intentionally while switching their name since it is new owners. Best way to find out info as of right now is to check Facebook Downhill Brewing. Bring your own food! This great place to catch a game sells brews only. Luckily we had just finished dinner when we decided to check out this home town brewing company. Nestled off a small street in "you almost start to think your lost" Parker, this brewery has great brews, TV's to catch the game, and friendly service. Thursday night at 8pm and there were about 20 patrons all of whom were sipping down beer and having a good time. Some folks were chommpin on the free popcorn, others had ordered pizza in, everyone seemed satisfied. I saddled up and ordered the mine shaft koltch which was crisp and delicious. I also sampled the brown, which was allright and the octoberfest which was round, spicy and tasted like fall. All and all they were some solid brews. The decor is a little strange, like someone tried to bring cabin rustic to a warehouse but it seemed to work. This place felt like a neighborhood pub and I dug it. I hope to drop by more often. read more

6/9/2017 was the last straw. Came in on a Friday night and it was bust, but we were served in 10 minutes or so. Great selection of beer which we enjoyed. The service on the other hand was poor. We have poor/no service in the past, but have always continued to come back. The last 3 or 4 experiences have been good. The table next us got served 3 times in the 45 minutes that we were there. They had 3 kids and a nursing mom no less. Not sure why we were ignored as we had supported the food truck and were friendly when ordering our 1st beer. Maybe the new ownership has made a difference to the negative, but it was good to see the owner chumming it up with friends while his group always had full beers. (Hint of sarcasm) We will never be back as my wife has never felt so disrespected at a restaurant/bar. We went to Barnett and Sons where the service is 5 STAR with a friendly staff and the popcorn is better. read more

If you don't like these beers, go home and finish your sixer of PBR and give your stool to a real beer lover. This place has some of the VERY best beers in the state. Closest competition is Dry Dock and then only bested by the Russian River Brwery in California!!! Great place, great people and you get to bring your own food. Right there you save a gut ache by not eating a pile of deep fried mystery nuggets from some bar food distributor!!!! There are occasional food trucks here - some better than others, but you can order in a pizza pie if you need one also!!! Easily the best beer spot in the Parker area. Staff is not always as friendly as they could be and have some ditzy servers from time to time. Seriously Elk Mountain? Pretty sure you may be the only folks left in the craft beer biz that demand loyalty by offering a discounted growler price ONLY if one of your growlers are used. Geez, it's not even posted anywhere and one would think the staff would honor the discount if brought to their attention. Not sure what the reasoning behind the policy is. There is always a growler or two rolling around the back seat and many other brewers across Colorado and even a few out of state have filled Elk Mountain growlers for us to enjoy their craft outside of the brewery. It really is about the beer inside the growler and not the name on the exterior of it. On a more positive note...I was far from being a 'hop head' until I came across Tom's IPA in the early days of Elk Mountain. The rest is history... read more

We have been to Elk Mountain several times but their beer has been going down hill. We took some friends there and the beer was even worse than before. Two of us ordered the coffee stout and had to send it back. There was no coffee flavor and it was actually going bad and tasted like vinegar. The bartender said it was a little astringent but the last time I checked, astringent and vinegar was not in the flavor profile of a stout. We drove down to Hall Brewing and had some good beer. If you go I would start with tasters before you commit to a 12 oz. glass. read more

Not a bad place to grab a brew in Parker, that being said the service wasn't all that impressive. You walk in, and it's not apparent whether or not you seat your self, or wait for someone to seat you. Stopped in with my kids and grand kids for some lunch and a couple of beers. We quickly found out that they don't serve food, but stayed anyways for the beer. The beer was great and they had a food truck outside (Jesse's Smokin Nola) that was really good. The staff was very friendly and nobody minded having the grand kids running around. Let me start this way. I go to many micro breweries and this one has some of the poorest beers around. My advice is to go somewhere else for good beer. Second, about a year ago I went here to get a growler filled because someone had given me a growler card as a Christmas gift. I wanted their IPA but a sign on the tap handle said no growlers allowed. I explained the growler beer had already been paid for, they were already using prepaid funds and I had driven 15 miles to get the growler filled with IPA. It wasn't that they were out of IPA, they just wanted to keep remaining stock for more expensive sales by the glass. After much arguing I got the growler filled. The whole experience ticked me off. Thirdly, I just went there a week ago and presented the same growler card for a refill. It was the last growler refill allowed on the card and I was glad I would not be going back. Got my final growler filled with some of their less expensive beer and the bartender returned my filled growler and proceeded to tell me I owed her $5. I explained the growler card was prepaid and I should owe nothing. She explained the card was purchased when their growlers were less expensive and I needed to pay the difference. I explained to her that the beer was prepaid, that they had used the purchasers money over time and the increase in beer price was the businesses problem, not mine. I refused to pay the amount she requested and walked out with my filled growler. I will never under any circumstance go back to this brewery again read more
