I was in the neighborhood for one of my kids' practices, given the hour drive home, I decided to find somewhere to set up shop and handle some email. That's a long explanation as to how, with the help of Yelp, I stumbled onto this place that is in a commercial space behind a Starbucks off Santa Fe. I had low expectations - I was pleasantly surprised. The brewery was very busy, guys grabbing a beer, families with kids, dogs, you name it, they were all there. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the beer was approachable and good. The space is large with a nice patio and a wall of windows that opens onto said patio. In the back of the space are their brewing facilities; everything appears to be done on site. I had both of the IPA's and enjoyed them while I worked at the bar. Also we tried to order from the food truck 2x (Jordy's bbq) and the guy said he was too busy to take our order?? What's up with that? Living the dream always has a great food truck parked nearby in case you need a snack to go with your beer. All the beers are fantastic, I especially like the powder run and the seasonal pumpkin beer. The bartenders are friendly, quick with a smile and quick with your beer. The brewery has ample room for all the people and lots of dogs. I love the fact they're so community-minded and host lots of fun events. Tonight was pizza from Wheels on Fire (www.wheelsonfire.com) - pizza was great! They are similar to a personal pizza size so depending on how hungry you are and/or how many people in your party, you may want to order multiple. Bonus! Dogs are allowed inside! Love this spot! Being originally from the area, yet now living out of state, this is a go-to when visiting home. Their Powder Run may be one of my favorite all time beers. A little sweet with the vanilla & cream combo, but very easy to drink. Doesn't get old or overwhelming after a few. Even though it's tucked away off the main road, the space has great vibes. My husband was even able to get some studying done mid afternoon on a weekday. I believe they open up a larger space with picnic table like seating later in the day - can be outdoor in nice weather. New location, who dis? Living the Dream is now in the old Grist location so it feels somewhat familiar. Plenty of seating between inside and out although I wish they would have more coverage outside because that Colorado sun will get you! I dig that they are good about having food trucks just about every day and very consistent about posting on social media about the goings on. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus (they have treats at the bar when you order!) and they have a decent sized beer selection, not too little, not too overwhelming so they have mastered that. I typically get the Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale when I visit, one pint is just enough for me and their IPAs have been winners as well. Staff is alright, not sure if they are overwhelmed most days I go or what but it seems to be order, pay, repeat with little conversation in between and they haven't seemed to welcome questions when I've come in (old location and new) so that always leaves something to be desired. read more

Finally had a chance to stop in last night at the new location. I knew it was here, but I never really thought about it when nearby because it's not at all visible from the road. Having never been to the old location, I have nothing to compare this to, but it's nice. With roll-up garage doors and lighting that isn't too bright, there's a pretty cool vibe here. Even being in less than 30 mins to close on a Thursday night, there were several people enjoying their drinks and conversation. My wife and I both tried and liked the porter and Amber. I don't like to tell people to not try a place so I won't. Go as see for yourself. I feel like the atmosphere at Living the Dream is that if you are not a regular, you are not as welcome. Like it's a mild inconvenience that your needs are taking them away from the customers they would rather talk to. I thought I had reviewed this great spot after our first visit! Several years ago, I took our IPA-loving son on a mini brew pub tour and this was by far our favorite of the 3 we visited. We arrived pretty close to closing time on a weeknight, but Michael still welcomed us and chatted with us more than any of the other taproom bartenders we had encountered. The flight son was able to assemble made it hard for him to choose a pint, but he also got some crowlers or 6 packs to take home as well. And so he discovered his all-time favorite brew: Ice Climber IPA. But he has thoroughly enjoyed Arapahaze, 7-Speed, and Rock Climber on tap, in his Growler, crowlers, and 6-packs from the brewery or liquor stores over the years. I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer a Powder Run Cream Ale. The Vanilla is almost always available. The Horchata tastes freakishly like Horchata, and I'm proud to say I emailed them to suggest they brew it annually for Cinco de Mayo. And the Gingerbread is so fun for the holidays! I love their steady, reliable rotation of food trucks. I've been able to try several offerings because they have been at this convenient location when I lived in Roxborough. I enjoyed the food to-go and on-site. The old location was along a row of body shops and other auto service bays. But they made the inside welcoming with the decor, including Michael's photography. Awards won by Conifer area Chamber of Commerce events furthered our respect for Living the Dream Brewery. Braved the crowds to pick up 8th Anniversary T-Shirts for my family of 3. Now they've moved to a new location in Highlands Ranch that I hope to visit soon. Sterling Ranch now sports a tap room in the Sterling Center. And their new Trailhead Fog is another favorite IPA of our son. Great to see they are really living the dream--and lots of great things seem to be coming their way! read more

Our large group stopped in after an event nearby this week and they were very accommodating. The place is spacious, but it felt kind of.. industrial inside? And smelled like chlorine. It's cool they're dog friendly and that they have food trucks and that they allow you to bring in outside food as well. They have a large selection of beep to try and had some hard seltzers as well. I tried the sour which was pretty tasty! Everyone seemed to like what they tried, including the flights. The gals working were super friendly and helpful. We've been into Living The Dream a few times since moving to Denver and enjoyed the laid back vibe each time. Fun fact: Living The Dream has a pretty established schedule of food trucks weekly, so if you're looking for good food to accompany your craft beer, they've got you covered. Living the Dream is fairly spacious and on less windy days, the outdoor space makes it even more inviting. And, they're dog friendly, of course, always a plus. They have lots of seating options in different configurations. Their craft beer? Lots of great options. My partner chooses IPAs most option and I'm a sour beer girl, whenever they're options. Living the Dream had both. One sour option - a dark cherry option, was perfect. My guy had several of their IPAs and we took home several of their to go 4 and 6 packs. Def a low key, mellow day. Anywhoski, needed me a good brewski. LTD has a cool tasting room with lots of outdoor seating and daily food truck. They even have a pinball room. Its in kind of a weird auto mechanics lot at the end of a dirt road. But the beer is legit. Had a great tropical gose and an IPA. Will def hit LTD up again. read more

Seeking a new brewery to check out after a morning spent meandering nearby Hildebrand Ranch Park, we made our way to Living the Dream Brewing to do just that. Safe to say I'm a fan! SPACE: Given the current state of things they are only offering socially distanced outdoor patio seating in their extended patio tents. They're dog friendly for sure. Which my lil' pup appreciated being able to join in on the fun! Inside the tap room they have a mix of corrugated metals, reclaimed wood, roll-up garage doors, and repurposed skis/snowboards to help exude their Colorado style. With their close-proximity to Chatfield State Park, Living the Dream Brewing seems to be a post-ride hot spot for many cyclists. SIPS: Having followed them on Facebook and Instagram for a while now, I knew my first pour had to be the San Juan Mai Tai (fruited sour). After that I opted to give the Powder Run Vanilla Cream Ale a try. Between the two, the San Juan Mai Tai was definitely my favorite. Wonderfully fruity and perfectly tart - I could easily see this being my go-to summer patio brew. My husband sipped on both the 7-Speed IPA and the 9-Speed Double IPA. He enjoyed both. Our friends sipped on the Rail Bender (dark sour) and the Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine. Everyone seemed to enjoy their brew choices. Many of their brews are named for all things Colorado, but they take most of their inspiration from snow sports and biking. SUSTENANCE: A variety of food trucks set up shop at Living the Dream Brewing. During our visit Cheffin's Cheesesteaks & Cubanos was slinging their tasty fare out front. You can get the full line-up on their website! SERVICE: The beer tenders here are super friendly and helpful. They def have their pandemic protocols down pat. Plenty of safety protocols in place and enough staff on hand to ensure that your wait time is minimal even with a few extra safety precautions. SWAG: Holy merch! Living the Dream Brewing has def got their merch game on point! From glassware, to shirts, to tin tackers, to dog accessories - they've got you covered for sure! So don't forget to grab a little something to take home. This is our favorite local brewery for all the reasons. They are wildly supportive of dogs and our Dood is part of Hank's gang. I love that they've expanded their beer menu and are trying new things. We ended up at Living The Dream on a whim and I'm so glad we did! We were seeking a nearby brewery with some outdoor seating and food. While the brewery itself doesn't serve food, they have food trucks that come by and on our visit we were treated to some really good nachos and tacos. It's open seating and you order beers inside. Since it was our first time, we tried a flight that was served on a ski rack. As a former Miami gal, the key lime pie cream ale called my name and was fun to try but the IPAs were among my favorite. Definitely look forward to trying some more on our return visit! It's super dog friendly and just fine for kids too! Amazing brewery to visit if you're traveling through Denver! They have an amazing list of IPAs our bartender Brandon described them very well and thought me a lot about different IPAs. I really enjoyed the beer from this brewery! My most favorite beers out of four that I had with Living The Dream were definitely their cream ales! I really enjoyed their vanilla cream ale as well as the coffee cocoa cream ale. Other runners up on the favorite list is their American Lager and their 7 Speed IPA . I took a peek on Untapped for some of their other beers and see that they have some really great beer options I'd like to try. One in particular was the Horchata Mexican Lager... I'm sure I would enjoy that beer if the other four beers we had are any indication! read more
