I have recently visited Downhill Brewing again after some time. They are doing a much better job then they were awhile back. The in house pizza is delicious. The beers for me are sometimes a hit or miss. But this last time was surprisingly nice. I'll have to swing in again sometime for a hot pizza and a local brew. read more

Met a friend here today and had a great time. The Downhill staff did a great job with the socially distancing by having table separated where they could and had separaters where they could. The bar was segmented with two spots each segment. The beer was good and they had nine different beers on tap. We had a pizza and which really hit the spot. We had no concerns and had a great time. This is possibly the most welcoming brewery I've ever been to. Their beer is great...particularly the Collision Kolsch, the Fresh AF (cucumber sour) & the Ghost Town Brown...the pizza is quite good & the atmosphere is homey...lots of tvs broadcasting sports, very cool mural art, lights shaped like hops above the bar, awesome beer names that are often 90's pop culture references, a nice outdoor patio with a fire pit for the colder evenings & misters for the hot days, plus an extremely friendly staff. This place is hopping! They have 2 Sours, including a Dark Sour and a Cucumber Sour. They have a Great variety of other beers also. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center where the brewery is located. There is plenty of seating, but hard to come by on a Friday afternoon. There is seating at the bar as well. They have their own pizza kitchen for food. They also have 2 types of salad. They only serve thin crust pizza. You can build your own or they have 10+ combos on the menu. They are kid friendly too. Continuing our weekend brewery tradition, Downhill Brewing Company (formerly Elk Mountain) was our stop this weekend...and we were pleasantly surprised! We're (begrudgingly) suburbanites, so my opinion of breweries in the burbs is less than enthusiastic. From the outside, the modern mini-mall appearance turned me off but once you're inside the hodgepodge ski decor and friendly bar staff made me feel like I would stay for more than just a beer (which we did!) Highlights were the beer, Melisandre - GOT fans will appreciate this and the newly added, and reasonably priced, pizza kitchen. read more

I drive past Downhill all the time but have never tried their beers before. Decided to stop in today with my husband and give them a try. The inside is fun and inviting, staff is friendly, there's a patio in the back and to accommodate Covid restrictions there's also seating in front outside. Now to the important part, BEER! My husband got Saturday Nut Fever(peanut butter brown ale) and I got Moon Unit(blueberry lemon sour ale). Both these beers were astounding! I've had other peanut butter beers and they didn't really taste like PB and were kind of muddled in flavor. This beer had a clean flavor profile and tasted like peanut butter! Uggg, so good! Moon Unit was also delicious but it would be hard to have more than one or two at a time unless you love sour beers. The blueberry flavor was great and definitely at the forefront with a hint of tart from the lemon. This would great beer for sipping on a sunny patio! Downhill also has beers to go so we got a Saturday Nut Fever to bring home. I can't wait to go back! read more

The beer is good (really enjoyed Saturday Nut Fever) and the pizza was fine. My objection is that this is another entitled business that asks customers to add a 20%, 25% or 30% tip at checkout -- even though there is no wait staff or table service. You order your beer and pizza at the bar and carry it to a table that may or may not have been cleaned. I believe that tips are for service, 20% is for good service. While customers always have the option to forego a tip, I feel that it is distasteful for a business to suggest a 30% tip. read more

But this last visit there were at least 5 different seasonals on tap that were fun and different and most importantly GOOD! Downhill is the best. It's our favorite local brewery. The staff is awesome and super friendly. They've got plenty of indoor seating and a great patio out back to enjoy your beers in the sun or shade. My husband and I love their beers - Saturday Nut Fever (PB Brown), Melisandre (Raspberry Ale), Monkey Stardust Express (Coconut Saison), and their rotating IPAs are some of our favorites. We came here on a Sunday afternoon, our friends really wanted the food from the Bahn Mi truck and it was at Elk. I got a flight of beers, 7 of them at $1 each for 4oz glasses. Our friends got the Amber at $5 each. Most of the beers were pretty tasty. We received our beers really quickly, it wasn't busy so that makes sense, then we never really saw the bar maid again. One of us called out to her for another beer, she cleared our glasses except for the huge flight tray which was empty. We had all empty glasses on the table for ages and she didn't come near us again so I just went to the bar and asked for the bill. What can I say? My husband and I LOVE Elk Mountain. It's the best brewery in Parker and has some dang tasty beer. The raspberry golden ale will always be my favorite - it's good all year round! My husband is always partial to Saturday Nut Fever. Food trucks are great, popcorn is great, patio is great, bartenders are awesome and friendly too. Once the owner taught me what IBUs were my whole beer life was changed. I always knew I liked a certain type of beer but couldn't necessarily specify it beyond a wheat beer. Now that I know I just like lower IBU beers it's so much easier for me to make a selection everywhere I go! OH and they give teachers a 10% discount everyday, plus a 20% teacher discount on Tuesdays. The combination of a night at Elk Mountain (Downhill) with dinner from Baja Berto's food truck is the perfect night. The beers are good, not amazing beers but the female server who comes to your table to check on you is outstanding. Great customer service. This place has average beers (not bad, not amazing), great atmosphere, great customer service and a bomb food truck on Friday's. Makes for a nice relaxing night. Having a good Kolsch and burrito is a great night. One of the few breweries that doesn't line up another pizza spot. Breweries with pizza food trucks is so old, glad this brewery gets it! read more

Was really disappointed with our pizza and beer and service. Pizza sauce tasted too tart like it had vinegar in it. Crust was black and past the expected toasty level. My Oak barrel aged beer was very flat and plain flavored. But all could be recovered by even asking how we were doing even once. I felt really ignored and don't love the serve yourself model if it means employees can ignore customers. No one was rude or mean we just didn't exist. We've been several times but now Downhill is off our list. So disappointing because good restaurants/bars in Parker are so few. Downhill is living up to its name. read more

Should you ever find yourself stuck in suburbia, check out Elk Mountain Brewing. You know, after you spend the day looking at overpriced model homes or trying to fool the salesman at the Porsche dealership into believing that you intend to trade in your Chrysler Town & Country for a macadamia Boxster. ('Cause why else would you be in this part of town?) Anyway, Elk Mountain is alright. It doesn't hold a candle to most of the downtown Denver/Boulder microbreweries, but it glimmers like an oasis in Parker. The beers are decent: their Wild Wapiti Hefeweisen is a delicious mess of banana-, clove-, and vanilla-flavored esters. I usually go for darker beers, but this is one of the best German wheat beers on the market. They also have a solid, award-winning brown. Their other beers are mediocre at best. The oatmeal stout is closer to a porter or a brown, their pale is underhopped, and they claim to use three hops in their IPA, but don't mention which three - and probably shouldn't, judging by the taste. If you want to try them all, Elk Mt. offers a 9-beer tasting flight, for $9, delivered on an old-school snowshoe. The environment is typical for this part of town - big, empty, and sterile. They have a couple pool tables, a bunch of lodge-style tables, and a patio out back that consists of three naked, fenced-in benches next to a street. Like Dry Dock, it's solely a brew house, so BYO food. I recommend loading up a big plate of BBQ from the to-go menu over at Hickory House before venturing to Elk Mountain. After all, the best beer in Parker should be accompanied by suburbia's best BBQ. read more

This is what Parker has needed, a real brewery worthy of the heritage of Colorado breweries. There is no food served, so bring your own, or order from the delivery menus. The lack of food is the only reason I deducted a star. read more
