This place gets very good reviews and I am not sure why. We walked in and ordered 2 pizzas. The price on the large menu board was $19.99 Then when we went up to the cash register it rang up $29.99 and I asked/told the clerk the menu said $19.99. He said well we haven't changed our prices on the menu yet. Two pizzas and one drink was $62.29 dollars. That is CRAZY expensive for what was given to us. These were not stone fire special pizzas or anything fancy. Also the service was average at best. There is a outdoor patio which is nice because inside is nothing special. Upon walking in, I asked the staff if anything besides the location has changed over the last 40 years and they assured me that nothing changed. So I ordered a personal size cheese pizza that I got when I was back in Adrian, Michigan visiting family and the recipe and dough tasted exactly the same as it did when I was a kid. So happy that Dempsey's didn't change a thing when it comes to their pizza. Bonus, they had a skeleton with a Dempsey's t-shirt on that kept me company while I ate. read more

We ordered the Italian Turkey special, which came with chips and a drink. The subs were toasted, crisp and filled with great flavor! We ordered at the counter and the food was brought to us piping hot. It's a nice little cafe downtown with the option of eating inside or outside. Downtown Dempsey's - Italian Turkey combo! - Pizza Near Me - Adrian, Michigan

This pizza place in the increasingly attractive center of Adrian has evolved into our favorite option in town for Italian pie. The specialty pizzas here are terrific. The Best-o-Pesto might be my wife's favorite as it features a pesto base with spinach, feta cheese and tomato. My favorite is the BBQ Chicken, which is certainly not unique to them, but they do it very well. But one that is growing on us is the Sieler Special, which has a white sauce base with goat cheese and honey. This is a unique option which provides a nice change of pace. We've also tried the Greek Pizza with white onion and gyro meat topped with lettuce, tomato, feta cheese, black olives and a side of tzatziki sauce. It tastes great but it does not warm up very well with the lettuce on top. So for me, it's not the best choice if you don't have enough people to eat it all at the first sitting. Dempsey's is also great for sweet treats. Check the front case when you walk in to see what's available that particular day. The cake balls are a favorite as are the roll-ups. We usually do take-out these days when getting food from Dempsey's but that's just by circumstance. We've eaten in also. Their dining area is small but the tables by the big storefront window are particularly nice for eating in, as are the two or three tables on their sidewalk patio in nice weather. My experience is that the service at Dempsey's has always been reasonably good as the people working there are polite and pleasant. The prices are well in line with expectations for the type of fare, making it a very good value in my estimation. The downtown location could, at times, present a small problem with regard to street parking, particularly on theater nights. But there is also a large-ish lot in back of their building off Church St. It is not quite as convenient but it is still very usable. Dempsey's will continue to be our primary go-to place for pizza. It's a great option, we enjoy the fare we get from there and we are happy to support a local business. read more

A good place to grab a bite especially before a show at the Crosswell Opera house. Me and a friend wanted a place that was close and didn't give you that overstuffed feeling. It was popular and the seats closer to the window filled up fast. I was happy with my big flat Greek sandwich that was similar to a gyro. It had ciabatta bread, feta, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, banana peppers and tzatziki sauce and gyro meat. My friend chose a Pennsylvania pig sandwich that was similar to a Phlly steak and cheese with sausage, white onion, provolone, mushroom and green pepper. Downtown Dempsey's is a very cute little bistro style restaurant. They mainly have subs and pizzas, but they also have dessert like cake pops. They have dine in and take out options available. The prices are a little more expensive, but the food quality is good with fresh ingredients. The employees are very friendly and respectful. My personal favorite is the Roni Roses. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

What a great restaurant. Honestly the best pizza in town. Super staff, great service can't wait to try more menu items. Everything looked yummy as I observed lunches being served and watched food prep in the bistro style. Great for take out or dine in. Pizza just like has always tasted, reminded me of going the restaurant out on M-52 The only thing missing were the Tacos before the pizza.

Stopped in for breakfast with a friend this morning for the first time . What a very clean and welcoming environment. With bins to recycle your trash after your done. The food was delicious.
