McAlister's is a pretty good alternative for sandwiches, soups, salads and potatoes. I was happy to see it come to town a couple of years ago to add another option to the modest Adrian dining scene. I've visited half a dozen times now and found it to be consistently good. To comment in general, the location is very convenient just a short distance north on MI 52 from the US 223 intersection. The dining room has been comfortable, pleasant and clean each time we've been in. On our last visit, my wife and I both did our normal Choose 2 option. On this occasion, she had the Horseradish Roast Beef Sandwich and the Asian Crunch Chicken Salad. She was very happy with her choices. The portions were sufficient such that she was able to take away her sandwich for another meal. I had the Sweet and Smoky Chicken Sandwich and the Southwest Chicken Salad, which also proved to be a good combination. Our final bill including food, tax and a small tip (water to drink) was about $26 USD. That's a decent value and will keep us coming back for periodic visits. read more

Very good southwest salad and red beans and rice. Not suitable for meetings or gatherings due to the loud music but a good place for carryout. Also the rewards did not work on the app; I had to redeem them in the restaurant which was inconvenient. If the ambiance was improved and the app worked more efficiently, could be be a four or five star restaurant. While the manager was not particularly friendly (though he was efficient), the young associate was very friendly and helpful. read more

Today, we ordered our lunches online due to having limited time. When my husband went to pick them up he was told he'd have about a 5 minute wait. For 25 minutes, he continued to wait for our food. No one came and explained anything during his wait. When the person finally came back to the window to give him our food, he asked what had happened. The person acted surprised at his question. He explained that someone else said it would be a short wait. This person laughed and said that was wrong information. He responded and she well we had a bus of students. So, our order no longer matters when it was placed earlier? After all that my son didn't get eat and had to go back to class before we got our food. To add insult to injury, the food was cold. This place is still a hot spot for lunch. I arrived a little after one to beat the crowd. Service was quick and the food came quick. The sandwich comes with a side so I thought but was charged $2.99 for my side with my pop the total was $16. This is my second time eating here and both times they have been out of pop or tea. My salad was decent 4 out of 5, grilled cheese was on ciabatta bread, odd but didn't taste too bad 3 out of 5. French dip was also pretty good 4 out of 5. Soup was inedible unfortunately. Thick mush, not soupy at all. Must have been sitting all day. We threw it away. 0 out of 5. Probably won't return due to the fact it was a bit over priced. This is the first and only location I've tried, I do love a good sandwich! Everything tastes really fresh and the sandwiches have a lot of great flavor! The service was pretty good, wait time wasn't terrible. The drive through window is a bit strange, you order ahead of time and you pull up to see your name. It would be fine if you had maybe a QR or barcode to scan but the display monitor wouldn't work for us. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but not obnoxious for quality food. I placed an online order and was told it would be ready at 1:17 pm. When I finally received my food at 2:45 I was disappointed to see the majority of it was cold or absent all together. The staff was actually telling people it would be a better idea to go somewhere else as I stood there waiting for my food. Numerous people were cancelling or checking on their orders continuously and all were waiting at least an hour and a half after their pick up time. I understand things happen but this is sad. Worst experience ever. Was there on Friday 1/13/2023 around 6pm. Only had 3 other tables in there. Ordered a very simple meal and sat down at a table. in the mean time 10 other people ordered and received their order. After 35 minutes I went to the counter and ask the manager about my order and he was very confused. Got my order after 45 minutes of waiting and then they offered me cookie to compamsate my time. I LOVED this restaurant when it first opened with my favorite choice being the Savanah Chopped salad. It comes with 2 small cups of your choice of dressing which really should come with 3 because the salad is so big. So, the last 3 times that I've ordered this salad I thought that I'd been given a half order by mistake because the salad was so small. Nope! It's a full order they say, and Nope its no smaller they say. I say NOPE. The salad is a fraction of what it used to be with only 1 cup of dressing being more than sufficient now. Smaller portion is NOT worth the $10.00 plus cost....will NOT be going there again. I'm sad about that. read more
