I wish that I could give this place a higher rating, I really do. First of all, to our server Rylee, THANK YOU! You made the evening for us. You were fast, efficient, and a multitasking marvel, and you did it all with a smile on your face, even as you always took a few seconds to say hello and answer a question when needed. To the table of eight mid-GenZ types who trickled in as we settled in for dinner: (1) Alcohol is not your friend, and given that this town does not have an Uber or Lyft service of any reliability, I was happy to leave before your birthday party ended. (2) Your parents did not teach you a great deal about restaurant etiquette. (3) You did nothing to help add to a special dinner for my wife and I. HOWEVER, NONE of that second paragraph is the restaurant's fault, except for not asking them to lower the volume a bit as they were getting many "looks." The crowd in this restaurant tends to be 40+ and the vocal ones were not appreciated by many. OK: I had not eaten here in a couple of years. While my wife enjoyed her Chicken Marsala, I didn't really think that my Shrimp Scampi was "wonderful." The shrimp were small (less than "scampi size") and "slightly" overcooked. However, the biggest issue was almost a complete lack of garlic flavor. The fresh lemon helped, but once applied, I had Shrimp Scampi with lemon sauce. I will say on the positive that the capellini pasta was cooked to virtual perfection. As the only authentic Italian restaurant in the Adrian area, the cuisine covers the Italian countryside from North to South. So of course, I will go back. However, I am having the Lasagna or the Ravioli. read more

Went here for my birthday and everything was wonderful! Three of the members in our group had been to Italy. We all lived in Arizona and frequently went to a wonderful Italian restaurant in Queen Creek. We all had a craving to find some good Italian cuisine. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff was friendly and if they weren't sure about something being vegan they asked. The portions were more than generous! We loved that the food was fresh and so hot it was steaming. The only disappointment was the Chicken Parmesan could have used some sauce on the bottom cutlet. read more

We have come here several times for dinner. They have two areas for seating- the bar (with some high top tables as well) and the dining room. Service has been stellar no matter where we have sat. The food is good, never great. There is nothing I have had that I crave and MUST come back for. But it is consistently good Italian and will scratch that itch if you are in the mood. Caesar salad was one of the best I ever had, bread was simple although made to perfection, shrimp scampi pasta could have been better my only real complaint was the description said buttery and I couldn't even taste nor see the butter.. I was also under the impression that the rosé was going to be sweet but actually it was quite bitter. I would give this place a solid 4/5, I find the 3.7 average rating to be dramatic and unrealistic and considering I'm a great cook who has ate everywhere you should take my opinion into deep consideration. We were just there last night for the first time. There is a lot of seating that is out of sight. So don't think it's small like we did at first. To avoid waiting we sat at the bar. The hostess was cheerful. The bartender/server was spot on. We both had wine and they fill the glass like Italians do. No measured portion. A glass of wine! Nice! Just let me tell you what was delicious without a bunch of silly descriptions; the Bread, the Calamari, the lasagna, the chicken Marsala. Everything was FULL of flavors.We forgot to get a salad. Had a great meal there last Saturday night. The drinks were plentiful and well made. The apps were really good and the main courses were great... Started with martinis. Generous pour and perfectly mixed. Nothing strange going on, not too much vermouth, not shaken, etc. Really nice. We had the breadbasket and some fried calamari, shrimp and peppers for apps. My only quibble is the calamari may have been taken a little too far in the deep fryer. It was delicious, but just a bit chewy. The addition of shrimp and peppers was a really nice surprise - great touch. Next came the salad. Very fresh, dressing on the side, not watery, great! I had the chicken piccata, someone else had the lasagna and the third dish was salmon piccata. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. The piccata included the protein along with capers (of course!), artichoke hearts (nice touch) and a great lemon sauce. Not too tart, not too salty. Really nice. The chicken breast was cooked very well, etc. The lasagna was ordered with additional meat balls, and they were great. Not too dry, not falling apart. I was told the sauce was great too. The salmon was prepared like the chicken - perfectly cooked, not too tart, not too salty. The portions are generous so none of us could do dessert. The waitress was great, efficient, extremely helpful and a big help. She really knew the menu. None of us ordered wine, but they have an impressive list - they even have some Cakebread wines. If I remember correctly, they're around $60 per bottle. That's a great price for wine of this quality. We drove from Toledo and are definitely going back. The last three times I've ordered take out there has been something missing from my order that I've had to come back for, which I can understand. Mistakes happen. But with my last order my "bread basket" was a ciabatta loaf that was hardly cut and absolutely plain! Dinner at Sauce after an Adrian football game. Short wait and we were seating in the back dining room, which filled up quickly after 7pm. Lasagna and Spaghetti Pomodoro were great, I also enjoyed the creamy balsamic salad dressing. Place can get noisy with large groups coming in post game. Fun atmosphere though. Can't say enough good things about Sauce. I highly recommend the patio seating. The patio is very cute with lots of flowers & a small water fountain. No reservation was needed on a Tuesday evening when we went and we had a party of 5 people. The cocktails are phenomenal, I ordered both sangrias offered and loved them! The white peach sangria is sweet & refreshing. The lasagna is incredible as it is SO cheesy. We also ordered a chicken parm that was a huge portion and it's delicious... the red sauce on top was spectacular! We will be back again. read more

First I want to say I called their phone 3 times to place a take out order with no answer... which I get that places get busy... so I drove up there to place an order and the inside wasn't busy at all. I waited about 20 mins for my food and I'll say the food was just alright. This was my first time trying this place after a year of living here. I feel it was very overpriced for what they serve you. I ordered the Italian meat lovers pizza and a baked lasagna for a total of $43. The pizza was very small and could not feed my family of 3. If I'm paying $23 dollars for a pizza I expect more than one person being able to fill up from the pizza.. the lasagna was decent but again not worth the bang for my buck.. usually at any other Italian restaurant you at least get a complimentary salad or bread to come with your dinner, this wasn't a deal breaker for me but was disappointed with the amount of food you are served and how much your paying for it. This place is old school. Like wooden tables that are heavy enough to stop-a-Mack-truck-kind-of-old. You won't find any surprises on the menu, but what they do have is good and consistent, like your Italian grandma would make. No idea how I missed reviewing Sauce until now. This is our go-to spot for a nice dinner, and wine selection, in the area. House Merlot is a bit on the sweet side for a Merlot but it is good. I would stay away from the House Pinot Grigio - way too sweet. We had the Monday meatball special, and cheese bread. Hearty, cheesy and just the right amount of garlic. Previous visit I tried the pesto gnocchi dish. That I would recommend, very well done. Service was spot on; we could not have asked for better. read more

My mom always takes me here when I'm home visiting. I enjoy it every time! When you first walk in, it seems like it's more of a bar/ casual restaurant, but when you walk through the back hallway they have a whole other dining area and an awesome patio area! This last visit we sat inside because the sun was shining in our eyes on the patio so we moved. I enjoyed sitting inside though because you can watch the chef spin the pizza dough. My mom, brother, and I split two bottles of Moscato. I got the eggplant Parmesan. It was delicious! They also bring you out pieces of bread to nibble on before your meal. I would have preferred them with a little dipping sauce of some sort or maybe some oil and herbs. My mom ordered a personal pizza. She said the pizzas taste a lot better when you get the regular sized one. She said they have more sauce and just taste a lot better. My brother enjoyed the chicken Parmesan, a classic! The best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The Chicken Tromonto soup is spectacular. The menu description doesn't do it justice, but I recommend it, highly. The calamari is pretty good as an appetizer. They are lightly breaded, which is different from most places. After reading some of the other reviews, all I can say is wow. I have visited here 8+ times, and every occasion was positive. I have had the Pizza, Lasagna, Burger, Spaghetti, and several items on the appetizer menu. I am batting 8 for 8. This place is very crowded on the weekends and some weeknights for a reason.
