My employer recently took us here for lunch. Service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere is casual, though a lot of business professionals are here for lunch. I ordered the old-fashioned salad with their house dressing. I have to say that their house dressing is wonderfully delicious! Portions are very plentiful. Even a half salad is enough for lunch. When I noticed the servers worked as a team, I got nervous because I've seen this before and had really bad experiences. However, these servers did a great, great job. We only ordered beers but they checked in on us regularly and we always felt well taken care of. The food menu is simple but looks great! The beer choices are extensive. This restaurant offers outdoor seating which is incredibly nice for out of towners (like us) that only visit in the summer months. I have been going to Downtown even before I was old enough to go it. Growing up, I would beg my parents to get carry out from there on Friday nights. Ever since I turned 21, Downtown has always been a stop every time I am in town visiting my family. I am a big fan of the Chicago Beef. They also have a great beer selection. We always bring a group of 6 or more. Our first time there a new server just started, Mikey. In one evening she learned 10 names and our drink preferences. We have been back on several occasions and Mikey never fails. She is a fantastic server. The best server in the county! The food is also great and reasonably priced with a good variety. I did not have a good experience with this restaurant and that is due to bad management. I went on a Friday evening and there were so many people. My party of 5 stood at the door and were not greeted or shown to a table. The staff members wear regular civilian clothing without name tags so I couldn't identify who was working and who was just drunk and stumbling around. It seemed the restaurant was severely understaffed but again, kind of hard to tell who was staff and who wasn't. The atmosphere was extremely loud, cramped, and uncomfortable. Conversations amongst ourselves at the table were difficult to have due to the extreme noise level. I couldn't wait to get out of there, to be honest. The food was delicious and promptly delivered to our table so that was a bright spot. read more

Locally owned restaurant and bar with full menu. I tried the fish and chips basket: 4 pieces of fried fish with what seemed to be homemade seasoned potato chips. The chips were a bit too salty for me to eat all of them, but well seasoned and tasty. They have monthly menu specials. For the month of August it was 'Fair Food'! Corn dogs, Funnel Cake Strings, Sweet Potato Tots with marshmallow and coconut !! Nothing on list was over $4. Must go back before end of the month. Wonderful small town vibe; the staff seemed to know everyone by name. I was the odd stranger, but by the end of my meal the bartender had introduced himself, gotten my name and introduced me to some waitresses. Alas, smoking is allowed. Very odd being back where smoking is still allowed with dining. Definitely worth checking out for the friendliness and good service! Today was my first experience here; great atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff. All the staff was great, I spoke with 3 or 4 of them. I had the lunch special, which today was chicken carbonara Very good as was the garlic bread I added a side salad which was fresh and crips, a mix of greens and tomato; I opted for no cheese which would normally be added. The tea sadly was only average, most places don't think of us hot tea drinkers so I wasn't surprised by the tea. Otherwise wonderful! I would return. read more

Love, love the food. They have the best hamburgers around. I eat very little red meat, but to pass up a bleu burger takes lots of discipline. The menu serves up a wide variety from pub grub to healthy salads. The appetizers, from Nachos to fried green beans with wasabi mayo are filling and fun to eat. If you have to be in Warsaw, I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner and you won't be disappointed. All I can say is awesome. The service is top notch with a veriety of foods from subs and bergers to fresh salads and steaks.

We tried this tonight for dinner. I am certainly impressed! The fish and chips were outstanding. The chips are not French fries but actual chips made in-house. The wife had the seafood melt. Amazing! We have found a definite new favorite in downtown Warsaw! I was also impressed that my Jack n Coke was mixed as it should be. No shortage of whiskey like some bars practice. In Warsaw from metro STL, and chose this place based on the reviews on here. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and great food. My husband had the rib special. They were awesome and the loaded mashed potatoes were on point. I had the seafood sandwich. It was imitation crab, but good. Served open face and cut into to pieces. Chill atmosphere, mixed crowd.
