Well we decided to come back and give it another try. Unfortunately our food was awful again! They were very understaffed as they had live music and only 2 girls working. We sat at a table with some very nice folks and we noticed they didn't eat their dinner either. It's a really cool place we really wanted it to be good. Do better lake life !!! read more

Service from the Hostess the moment we arrived was despicable. We had an injured person unable to walk up steps. Lots off empty un reserved tables downstairs. The hostess was adamant she was seating us upstairs even after I explained he could not make it up stairs. I pointed to empty tables. We were told rudely that she didn't want to fill the downstairs tables. We could go back outside, walk around to the back of the building to go up a ramp to be seated upstairs. I showed her his brace, explained walking was painful. He had already made it inside. She didn't care. Didn't apologize and would not seat us. We told her we would leave we can't walk around back. She said that was our choice. It was and we did. We won't return. Not to care about patrons physical well being is a bit disappointing and disturbing. This was June 5th 2026 5:30p. I hope the most recent new owners address this type of service given to their patrons. This should not be acceptable behavior. read more

We wanted to dine outside because it was a beautiful and cooler September day. Needless to say, Lakelife did not disappoint. We arrived shortly before their 3pm live music on a Sunday. We both ordered their breaded cheeseburger and it was so good. And the atmosphere- so nice on the patio watching boats come in and out of the channel. Server wasn't super attentive, or this would be a five star review-we never got a refill for our drinks which is a pet peeve of mine. Overall- It was a great way to spend the afternoon. Best seats in the house are out back at the Sandbar. Amy Farmer is behind the bar serving up great drinks, tasty eats and cool summertime vibes. She knows how to take care of crowd, and make everyone feel special. We came in for the good company, some Two Hearteds, and a bite to eat. The goat cheese Bruschetta was delicious, get some, it's lovely. If you order sandwich, you won't leave hungry We saw some pretty nice looking frozen drinks and cocktails crossing the bar, we'll have to comeback and see if they taste as good as they look! My criticism will start with the handicap accessible parking spot being next to a door that is kept locked. There is a phone number listed to call and have them open the door. We went to the entrance were everyone was directed (down a sloped area(in the rain!)) only to be directed up the stairs to the floor we should have been able to enter by the parking. Just a lot of unnecessary steps for someone with a prosthetic leg. We got seated and my husband ordered a beer off the printed menu and was told "Don't carry that one anymore" He ordered another beer and it took quite some time for him to receive it. Then an excuse about downstairs bartender and why it was taking so long. When we ordered our meal I selected grilled veggies (as stated in the menu) and was told " we don't do that anymore" The waitstaff and bartender were loudly complaining about a fellow employee. Did not care to hear about their woes while eating. The cheese curds were delicious and our sandwiches were ok. I've never been to this place before. While vacationing in Indiana, husband and I went with friends. Friends and husband grew up in the area and said that Lakelife has been around a long time, and used to be a "dump"; it had been remodeled and they wanted to give it a try. First problem was that the handicapped entrance is kept locked and one has to call a phone number to get it opened up for access to the place. This was aggravating. To enter through the other entrance, there are stairs/steps that have to be climbed to get to the eating area. Once that issue was resolved, in we went. The place was sunny and looked well maintained and clean. We decided to eat out on the deck. We were waited on immediately for drinks. I order white wine; if there was 1/2 cup of wine in the glass, I would be surprised - it was a very stingy pour. The wine was good but at $7 it wasn't worth it. Husband ordered a Lakelife burger which he indicated was good. At $14 it should be! His side was cornbread casserole and it was delicious. I ordered a Caesar salad and it was okay - hard to mess that up, right? So, for almost $40 this was a pricey lunch. With the summer lake crowd in the area, I guess they can charge these prices and get away with it. I was not impressed. read more

3 is generous and that's for 2 reasons - #1 our resort area is boom or bust for most establishments and #2 the food is pretty good once you get it. After 3 visits since March the shortcomings persist and stem from poorly trained servers and difficulty communicating between kitchen and wait staff. Repeatedly needing to ask for refills and empty dishes/glasses to be removed, long waits for checks, and food coming in shifts have been our experiences. But it's a beautiful setting and we'll continue to try to find down times to try again. read more

Waitress recommended the taco sticks dripping with grease gross Blue gill should never be battered like catfish. Recommendation for the owners take a short drive to Ft Wayne and get the fish tacos from Mercado's then come back figure out how to make them them and put them on the menu. The atmosphere is 5-star and is a great lakefront location and fun decor! Food needs work. I hope that they look at making improvements to the menu and options - there's nothing on it that stands out. Owner, if you're reading this, get creative, because your darling place has SO MUCH potential! For our visit they were out of fish, entirely out of fish. Four members in our party are Pescatarian and vegetarian so this left few good options. I'll say it again, we want to love this place because it has a great location. The nachos were ordered along with the salad bar and I've never had nachos that everything on it was cold. No melted gooey cheese or really anything on top that was tasty. It was untouched. Fries were perfect, mac & cheese bites were also good, and how can you complain about $2 Rolling Rock beer?! The fried shrimp was hard, tasteless and the offered cocktail sauce was not helping. Another uneaten dish. The salad bar is a great throw-back, but not a lot would make it a meal, for someone not eating a sandwich too. I hope the owner would add Impossible Burger (the best veg option going!) to the sandwich menu and also change up the V lacking nachos prep. Adding a grilled mahi and grilled shrimp taco would also make a great choice for non-meat eaters. We'll keep an eye on the place to see if its worth a re-visit and be happily surprised! read more

We've been here a few times - once with the previous ownership and twice with the current ownership. This is my first review. Overall, I feel there was more value with the previous owners. The food is ok, but doesn't seem to be a good quantity for the price paid. For example, the corn fritters were too few to fill the basket, yet the price was $10.95. Then we ordered the 4-piece fish dinner with one side. It came with 4 pieces of fish that were HALF the size of fish anywhere else, so really it was more like a true 2-piece fish dinner. I will admit the pasta dish I had last time was very tasty, and I got a full bowl of food for the price paid. We enjoyed the atmosphere as we sat outside on the patio along the lake channel. Service was good. If we return, it will likely to be because of an event, such as a party or a band playing, rather than a choice specifically for dinner.
