If you are looking for a fun and relatively inexpensive yet good time, I would recommend this place! The day I went it was slow, so me and my date were able to get a room relatively quick and we were the only ones (Sunday is a slow day for them). You can book a room in advance online through their website as well. The staff and our game master was very kind and personable, she was really nice! You technically get unlimited clue but if you go past 4, you won't be eligible to have your time recorded. We did The Heist and it was pretty challenging! They take you in blindfolded and give you instructions, after that you are left to solve the puzzles in the room. The puzzles are pretty challenging and you can't spend too much time on one thing because certain parts will require more time. All the puzzles we did seemed to coincide and relate to one another with the exception of one but it was still a pretty interesting idea. This was such a fun experience! I enjoyed every minute! I had never tried an escape room before and had no idea what to expect. We went with a group of 6 and none of us had played before, but the friendly staff gave informative instructions and explained the rules. Once locked in the room, we found lots of different objects and eventually started noticing things that gave us pieces to our first clue. There is a staff member watching through a monitor and you can ask for a help if you get stuck. It was suspenseful and exciting as our group solved one puzzle at a time! With time running out, we were able to escape! I was impressed with the cleverness and attention to detail of this room. My group just visited Downtown Escapes this past weekend to play Decipher. It was my first time ever doing an escape room, so I was super nervous, but the guide was extremely personable and very informative (without giving anything away). He made sure that even the first-timers in our group understood the basic ground rules for playing and offered some helpful general strategies as well. It was so much fun! The room was challenging, but it seemed like there was a puzzle for everyone, no matter what your skill set is. My family and I had a great time in the new and exciting Escape Room, "The Studio"! The excellent staff that was there the night we went, definitely made it fun and enjoyable. They explained everything to us regarding the room and were helpful while giving the clues allowed during the experience. We all had a memorable experience as we barely made it out of the room in the allotted time, we "Escaped" with only 1 second left! We can't wait to see more exciting "Escape Rooms" that they come up with in the future. This was my first escape room experience and it was incredible! The plot was great, the clues were not obvious while remaining possible to solve. Our group's Gamemaster, Matt, did a wonderful job of ensuring that we had just enough help available to solve the puzzles but without making it too obvious when cashing in our limited number of helps. The quality of the room was really good too. I can't wait for their next room to open so we can go back! It will be difficult for me to pass up an escape room in my travels now, however, Downtown Escapes has set a really HIGH bar! read more

After going to this place on my birthday and after months of waiting to try out an escape room, my brother and I went here for our very first one. My opinion of the place? I love it! It being our first one, I enjoyed how they created a story in order for the puzzle to seem compelling. It was a nice added detail that later into the puzzle, you can actually see how much time you have left to the second as well! first experience in an escape room was here, in the decipher room, i wasn't sure what to thank at first, but once we started finding clues, everything came together. the clues were fairly difficult, but we powered through, the staff was amazing. he did very well explaining everything and walking us "newbies" through the do and don'ts of a room, the four clues were very descriptive and helped let us know if we were on the right track or not. i would definitely go back, and am trying to plan my next trip for their second room read more

loved it! it was so clever and full of clever tricks. they put things in unexpected spots, and it made you use your brain to find the items and answers. you may need to use a hint or two if it's your first time in a room, but trust me, the experience was fun. me and my brother tried it ourselves and we got pretty far and made it with a guess and 3 seconds left. the way things work, it just tells you how much work goes into these things. i'd do it again if i could read more

My wife and I took my 14 years-old son and two of his friends for his birthday to attempt The Heist. I thought that I was just going to to hang around and let the boys figure things out. Before I knew it, we were ALL doing everything we could to love each puzzle. It was the most fun that I have had in a while. It was the quickest hour of my life. Each puzzle is different and linked to the plot of the room. The staff are all very nice and answer any questions before and after your experience.
