Dario runs a great smog check business. I had just had my car serviced and didn't know that I should have told my mechanic I was due for a smog check this year. My smog check failed due to lack of data because of the service reset that was done on my car. Dario was kind enough to charge me a partial payment and told me to come back for another smog test once I had completed a "drive cycle" on my BMW. If you run into this issue, research how to perform a drive cycle for your vehicle, as it is specific to the make, model and year of your car. It's not just about putting miles on your car, so do your research. Once completed correctly, you should be able to pass a smog test. If you want a fair price and great customer service, go to DTLA Smog Check! Support this local business if you live downtown, or even if you live across town. Small 1 bay shop for regular and Star smogs, with free retests if needed. Very friendly and careful with your car. Dario was a pro at driving my manual transmission car with a heavy clutch without stalling, excellent! Only con is maybe the small lot it shares with other shop/s, so not much room to park. But it was Saturday during lunch time and I pulled in as another car just finished, so no wait! Just 2 chairs inside to wait, but smogs don't take much time if there is no waiting for other cars! read more
