From the very beginning I have had problems with Vivint. The customer service person I spoke to misled me as far as whether it would be ok for my husband to be present during the installation instead of me. It wasn't, and that led to problems that needed to be resolved and the whole system needed to be rebilled to my husbands credit card instead of mine. I wasn't told ahead of time that not all of the equipment promised would be delivered due to a lack of availability and it's taken over double the four weeks that I was told to deliver and install the missing doorbell cam. Hopefully they will show up to install that and move the panel to the location that I had specified for it to be located in the first place. They're all very polite but none of them tell the truth. I would advise anyone to be very skeptical of any promises made by Vivint employees from the sales reps on down the line to the installers. As far as I'm concerned they are all very polite liars.

These guys are the real deal…read more I have my security system managed by a bigger (but not better) competitor in the area and have had nothing but trouble. For months, I was dealing with a zone that was suffering from voltage spikes and producing false alarms left and right. I called my monitoring company to do repairs. First, they sent someone out to replace a contact (even though that was clearly not the issue) and billed me for hours of troubleshooting, then I was stuck calling back in countless times trying to reach the "right" person to resolve my issue - all while having 2 to 3 false alarms per day! Finally, I got fed up and called Catskill Security Systems. I called them and - boom - got a service appointment the very next day. Joe came out and diagnosed my rather complex issue with ease. After an hour or so, my system was back online and not a false alarm since. Thank you Joe!! I can't emphasize enough just how much more knowledgeable and professional this team is compared to other security companies in the area. I have a background in electronics and software engineering, so it's hard to bullshit someone like me when it comes to fixing low voltage circuits. I am always impressed and satisfied by the skills and knowledge that this company has. Going forward, I won't trust my security system with anyone other than Catskill Security Systems!

Now after a couple of installs on my Cars (Mercedes Benzs') and my partners and friends cars, he never stops giving the best advice and work in the area. His knowledge his top of the class. You dont have to own a Mercedes to get a quality install, he treats all his customers with the exact same respect and understanding. His product mix is chosen by him and not the companies that bang on everyone else's doors. He only deals with companies that support the equipment that he features. The best part of his business mantra is if you need it installed it doesn't matter if you bought it from him or not. You will get the same attention to detail. He doesn't just shove it out the door, he takes time and tunes it for the best quality. One of the best part about his shop is he does custom work, wheels, kits, starters , alarms and video what ever you need to make your ride yours. I have been in the sound business almost my entire life. My father and his partner designed the O.G. sound system for SPAC, The Rafters, Sneaky Pete's and even Studio 54. I personally was the first IASCA Head Judge in upstate New York back in the early 90's. I know my stuff and so does Jesse. I didn't care as much about resolution, upgraded speaker quality, etc. as it was a little-used television that I listened to more than watched while working on projects. I am not really tech savvy (nearly everything I was looking for was what my wife told me I needed, as I have trouble just getting the remotes to work) so I decided to come here first. The person I talked to was very helpful. He showed me a couple of televisions that would work but one was way more expensive than I needed (his words actually) and the other was so basic that various apps couldn't be installed onto it. He apologized but couldn't recommend spending a lot on a tv here when a cheap Asian import at Walmart would work a lot better. I appreciated his honesty and advice. If I need a really nice television, I will trust the people here.
