What I like about this bookstore is everything is well curated and organized and there isn't an overwhelming amount of books. It's mostly popular titles or current titles and you can easily pick out books to read. They had a small seasonal section as well which I picked from. I bought 5 books each were around $5 or so which is such a good deal . I spent $27 in total. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood for a current book to read, it's much easier than browsing thrift stores and the like. The girl at the counter was also nice to boot ! Shop small and keep this gem around.

The shelves are often partially empty, and the books they do stock are either bestsellers that everyone carries (i.e. the Twilight series) or those bargain-bin books that you always see knocked down to $3.99 at Borders. You know, the random cookbooks and craft books that have no discernible author but are put together by a team of editors? Yeah, those. That's about it with this place. They do also sell some cards, blank books, and knickknacks, but I've seen comparable selections in hospital gift shops. On the plus side, the staff really is wonderful and is happy to do special orders at any time and for any book. I know someone who places orders frequently through them and is very pleased.

Maybe I am the a..hole, but today I bought a bunch of books, paid for them and noticed they have wrapping. Two of the books were for a child's 1st birthday, I so asked if those could be wrapped. The owner said yes, (she was checking people out) cut the wrapping paper and the proceeded to help the next people in line, who were not in line when I checked out. The next customers has a bunch of question about water color painting and brushes, for which I waited. Then the customers wanted some brushes that where in the cellar. The owner then left to go get them. Meanwhile, I am just left stranded. I took the two books back and left the store. I was a little upset, even said WTF as I left. (Not too proud of that, I just amazed I was being disregarded). I returned to store, waited in line and returned the books. While I waiting I overheard the cutters who were given priority talking trash to the owner about what had happened. Am I wrong? I am not sure I'll go back.

Beautiful house, and given the small space they have, they have a pretty good selection. Independent bookshop, hard to see these days, well kept. They also have a small, beautiful corner, one can go and read. The owner is helpful to give you suggestions and answer the never-ending question. One must stop by here if you are in the town. I went here before one of the events - which ... to my dismay was a little bit unorganized at the end. They told everyone attending they would dismiss the audience for signings - well half of the people ran out to line up for signing despite direction . So maybe a little more pre- planning would be helpful so that doesn't happen because sadly I had to leave since people didn't follow instruction. Aside from that - this is an awesome store and they seem to put on events pretty frequently. Love the various displays throughout!

It's a lovely little store, with books and book-related merchandise, an owner who is ready to help or to leave you alone, depending on your inclination, and "two friendly dogs" according to the owner, who were snuggled up together in their dog bed when I was there. In addition to a room of books for children and a room of books split between best sellers and young adult books, they have literary T-shirts and canvas bag, some children's merchandise, and some wonderful pins, 'secular saints candles,' and snarky magnet sets from the Unemployed Philosophers Guild ( https://philosophersguild.com/ ). I stopped by and immediately found a book I was interested in, but I would have browsed longer if I hadn't been itching to see as much of New Hope as I could on my first visit there. The customer service was very friendly, and the shop is really cute.
