Since then, I went to another highly recommended doctor who was kind and actually ordered the mri, did a cortisone shot and ive had zero pain after the shot for 4 months now! I will go to him for the hip replacement when the time comes that my labral tear flares up again, but I would not let anyone cut me open with that nasty treatment I experienced. And the icing on the cake was receiving a double co-pay bill for the one appt, one for the visit and the other for the x-ray done in the same office in the same appt. Anyone looking for a top notch doctor, with a nicer disposition should see Dr. Bawa at SCOI!

My PT seemed good at first and after awhile he just phoned it in. They alternate between many patients and left me alone for periods of time. I felt like most of the time the PT just wanted to leave me in the Normatec boots and move on. Because the size was way too large for me it was actually quite uncomfortable. I've unfortunately had to go to PT's six different times for various reasons and this experience was definitely the least personal attention. Overall it was ok but I wouldn't go back.

I was close to giving up and accepting that my shoulder might never feel normal again. Then I started working with Michael. From the beginning, he had an excellent bedside manner, really listened, and approached the process with a "never quit" attitude. He was patient, thoughtful, and consistent, and he adjusted the work as I progressed instead of just giving me a generic routine. That made a huge difference. What stood out most was that Michael genuinely cared about getting me back to normal. In the intake, Dr Letgolts very quickly and confidently came to the conclusion that I had a true leg length difference and stuck a heel lift in my shoe. For context, his methodology is all about getting to the root of issues by resolving underlying compensation patterns and bringing the body into correct alignment. And because one compensation pattern sort of stacks on top of the next, the idea is that when one compensation pattern is resolved, another one is revealed, and so on. So it's meant to be a process with ups and downs on some level and I had a high level of commitment to seeing it through. The thing is, I not only have plenty of issues now that I didn't have at the start, but I also still have almost every problem I did have at the start. His egotism is not as overt as some other doctors, but in this situation, that made it all the more insidious. When his solutions to the broadening scope of problems repetitively didn't help, made something else worse, or made a brand new problem pop up, there was no humility, culpability, or even an admission that anything was off in his treatment plan. Despite me bringing up the leg length assessment many times as a possible cause, his conviction that this was a messy process but one that would eventually pay off, kept me following his lead for much longer than I should have. And in that time, allowed the situation to get even worse and more chaotic. My list of questions and concerns grew as a result, and at one point he had the audacity to suggest that the time spent on them was the reason why we weren't progressing. That was the last appointment we had. I've since had multiple doctors confirm that I do not in fact have a true leg length difference and that the combination of the heel lift and his severe over-correction to my orthotics were the causes of the situation being what it was. Things have slowly started to improve but I have so much further to go now than I would've if I had just never set foot in that office. I don't how much of it was biases and how much of it was pride that blinded him to the reality of my situation, But either way, Hugely demoralizing waste of time, energy, and money
