Two words: realistic expectation. It was my 1st treatment today & posted 3 pics: the 1st one is my face w/ numbing cream, the 2nd one is an outside pic after the treatment, the 3rd pic is when I came home after a mani-pedi, a few hrs after. During the treatment, the Dr advised what part is being treated. There is soothing music in the background & before treatment, I watched Netflix and enjoyed cold water. The only discomfort that I felt during treatment was at the hairline, jawline and above the upper lip, little waves of electricity. I had low to medium intensity. I noticed some improvement on the lines on my forehead, small scars on my nose, scars by the side of my eyes and enlarged pores by my nose. The deep scars on my cheeks will probably improve with a few more treatments. Let me tell you my process. A few weeks ago, I cancelled my consult w/ Laseraway after knowing that a dr would not be performing my treatment. I cancelled my first consult w/ them months ago because I chickened out. I looked for an alternative w/ a doctor near work and called. Same day, I was accommodated by Chilene, LVN for a consult with Angel. He explained the process and expectation to me well. Came in for Clear and Brilliant. I love this laser but the way their nurse at Dr Brilliant who does it is really amazing and really takes her time. I numb for about 45 minutes and she has no problem or issue with me numbing that long! She also provides a nice warm cloth to wash off any excess makeup & all the numbing! Thats a definite bonus for me! Their prices are good and the staff is really nice. The office is relaxing and not too busy so you really get one on one service. When I came in for my appointment, I was impressed by how nice, professional, and welcoming the whole team was. They made sure to answer all of my questions, give me valuable literature, and show me before and after shots of previous patients. I told my Dr. Brilliant specialist that my main concern was getting rid of pigmentation and dark spots, but I also had some fine lines that I wanted to target. Coming from a family with a history of aggressive adult acne, I've always struggled to maintain clear skin. My skin journey has been long and is still taking place as I write this but has gotten significantly better because of Dr. Brilliant. Starting in middle school, I had the typical teenage breakouts that would show up whenever and wherever on my face. I had done Fraxel a year ago to take care of some dark aging spots on my face. The result was good, but it was actually really painful. I'm very pleased that I found clear + brilliant as a substitute for this. When I think about all the agony I have to go through for Fraxel, it's not worth it. Clear + brilliant is much less invasive and not painful at all. I only did it once, and I'm already seeing a difference, but I know it's going to be even more of a full effect as the months go by.
