Love this place! This place is sparkling clean. They're so friendly and professional. I had my first appointment with Dr Bansal she is very gentle and gives a thorough explanation of her procedures. She also makes sure you don't waste your money on unnecessary procedures. I love it. That's an A Plus!!! The doctors assistant, Saida, she makes you feel well taken care during your cleanings or any work done. Dr Bansal always checks in with me during any procedure to make sure that I'm comfortable. The receptionist Margaret is the office manager and she is super friendly, she helped me to get my first appointment asap!! This particular Dr Dental location is one of the best dentists I have ever been to. I would highly recommend this Dentistry to all my friends and family. This is horrible dentist/orthodontic that clearly practices deceptive practices. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! There are much better, honest dental clinics out there. They recommended that I get braces and told me they checked with my dental insurance and verified that my dental insurance would cover 50% of my braces. So, I agree to get braces and paid $2,800. Then a few weeks after getting the braces installed, they called me to tell me I now have to pay the full amount and pay another $2,800 because my dental insurance is not covering 50% of the braces. Turns out they never even called my dental insurance and never submitted a pre-authorization form. This was a procedure that cost over $5K and they were supposed to submit a pre-authorization form with my dental insurance to confirm coverage. In my opinion this was done intentionally to get me to agree to get braces then pressure me into paying the full amount of $5,600. My dental insurance told me my dentist should have known I was not covered for orthodontics because I am 36 years old and most orthodontic coverage ends at 19 years old on most dental insurance plans. The communication was horrible during this entire process. I felt misled and completely taken advantage of. I couldn't afford to pay the remaining $2,800 so I had them remove the braces 3 weeks after getting them installed. They refused to issue me a full refund and did not even apologize even after realizing the error was on them. They only issued me a partial refund of $1,200. I plan to take them to court for the amount that was not refunded. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. This clinic feels extremely scammy and deceptive. I scheduled a basic cleaning appointment, and when I arrived, they did not do the cleaning at all. Instead, they pushed X-rays, gum measurements, and other procedures I never asked for, with no clear explanation and no consent upfront. The communication was horrible. I felt misled, taken advantage of, and completely disrespected. Now they are billing my insurance for a "first visit" and services I did not request, even though I already have a regular dentist on Newbury Street and only came here for a cleaning. After all that, they told me I "needed" a deep cleaning costing $1,400, and refused to perform a regular cleaning, saying it "wouldn't make sense." That is NOT their decision to make, it's the patient's. Customer service was terrible. No one smiled, no one welcomed me, and everything felt rushed and transactional. On top of that, they were not transparent about pricing at all. I was never informed of any costs until after they completed the X-rays. This place seems to take advantage of immigrants and people who don't fully understand how the U.S. dental system works, especially those who don't speak English well. Unfortunately for them, I do understand the system, I am educated, and I am calling my insurance, they will not be covering this visit. Do not go to this place. I was extremely happy with Dr Razman, and after many years of fearing the dentist office I was feeling very almost no anxiety. Now they gave me a new hygienist and I am completely traumatized once again and now having sensitivity issues and none of this occurred with Dr. Razmanand he even did 4 of my wisdom teeth with no after problems. I went to Dr. Dental because of what I considered a poorly done filling from another dentist that had been causing me problems for months. Dr. Dental was able to get me an appointment within a few days, and I was handed over to Dr. Payal Thakkar and Merlin to assess my situation. They were both incredibly kind and thorough. Dr. Thakkar was very reassuring, and she talked me through everything she was doing. I found her chairside manner to be impeccable. I also find the quality of her work to be top tier. Personally, I very much liked that the office seemed to be staffed nearly entirely with women. Everyone I interacted with was kind and took time to explain things to me rather than simply talk at me. As a female, I often feel not heard in medical and dental settings, and I did not feel that here at all. I couldn't be more appreciative of the quality of care they provide at Dr. Dental. read more

This is my second time here and I have to say that it's a little "iffy" here. First time I went in for a cleaning and they told me they had a "special" that they were running so I could get an X-ray, check up and all the trimmings for maybe 25 dollars more. I figured .. eh what the hell and did it. We talked about how I needed to have my braces taken out and blah blah blah.. they couldn't do it there and recommended me somewhere else which was helpful. Fast forward a year and a half later... I go in again for a cleaning and they had a "special" again.. come on.. seriously? This time they used the excuse for an x-ray to find anything wrong so they could get me to spend more money. A filling, turned into a root canal that may eventually require a crown that would come to the sum total of 2,000$. Oh.. can't afford it right now?? Here, we offer a credit card and you can finance it through us! Ah how about no? The biggest gripe I had was the fact that they refused to quote me a number over the phone and basically forced me to go in so they can sweet talk me into more services. For a basic cleaning and maybe check-up.. this place isn't bad. But be prepared to be sweet talked into more work that you can't afford and then expect them to offer you a credit card. I have called many times and they give excuse after excuse as to why they have not repaid my insurance, as they promised (blamed the insurance for not sending a form, etc.). This office apparently does NOT need business! I really wanted to love this place as I was in desperate need for a dentist and needed tons of work done. I arrived and the receptionist was pleasant. The dentist was not friendly but I don't really care as long as he is professional and trustworthy. I had insurance which this office accepts. Due to the issues with my teeth the dentist did not want me to get a cleaning and wanted to deal with my issues first. They completed x-rays. When I left I was told that they would reach out to my insurance for an estimate & that they would call ME back. I really wanted to get this started. I called the office about a week later for an update and nothing yet. I gave the office about a month and I called to inquire again. I noticed on my insurance that they submitted it and received an estimate. My insurance would cover a portion which was fine as I would pay the rest. I called the office and was told that she would call the insurance company herself to be sure. GREAT!! I really needed this done. She promised to call me back. It's been months and NOTHING. I had a toothache and looked up emergency dentists, I called up and got a appointment for the same day, the office was nice and clean and the staff was very nice. They told me I would have to have x-rays first, and I explained it was one tooth and I thought it should be taken out. They listened to me and took one x-ray and determined the tooth should be taken out immediately, throughout the process they were patient and kind and did their best, I left with instructions and prescriptions and the experience was better that I anticipated. I plan to return to take care of my other teeth, as I am older and need more work. everybody was very pleasant and they stayed later than the office hours on a Saturday just to assist me. After days trying to find an appointment for a cleaning, I was able to confirm it. I receive both an email and a text message confirming it. Normally they call the day before to confirm, yet nobody did.. I thought maybe they changed the process. When I arrive at the reception, they couldn't find me. The girl called her manager to talk to me, without me even asking for it. The manager tried to arrange for the dentist to see me between patients, but I didn't have that kind of time. Very disappointed I naturally asked why it happened, as I had taken the day off from work because of this. She said at first that they had the wrong cell number, when clearly I was receiving text messages from them. Then she turns around and says I never confirmed the appointment, when I never received a text requiring confirmation like I always do. I understand mistakes happen. I'm new to this facility. The dental assistant Shana is the sweetest and most professional assistant I've encountered. She soothed my fears and made a not so fun procedure much easier and less stressful. The front desk clerks are very pleasant and have great personality. Dr. Maryam was very patient, and greeted me w a big smile. She showed genuine concern, and she also made me feel at ease. I highly recommend this office. I had two bad experiences in the past but decided to speak up and even though it was a negative feedback I got to experience something good. I ended up walking out the last time because I waited a little too long. The office manager Shannon called me and apologized, asked if I wanted to make another appointment because she felt bad that I had such bad experience. Well I met Doctor Dhwani and gotta say that I am so glad I met her. She was very understanding and patience with me, very professional and did not have to wait. The front desk staff was also very professional and apologized for the wait from last visit. I honestly don't have anything against the previous dentist, she was nice the first time I met her, I think it was just lack of communication(with timing). Hopefully this experience is helpful for others, I am sure that if you are reading my reviews is because you take reviews serious just like me. I take my time reading reviews because I like to be treated as I deserve since I am bringing business to whatever business I decide to pay my money to. I came in for a cleaning and X-rays. I was expecting to need something filled since I haven't had a cleaning in about a year and a half. 3 cavities, not a big deal. I got home a realized my teeth weren't very well cleaned. maybe hand scaling isn't standard anymore? fast forward to the filling. they did a great job numbing me! did the filling, it's not great with 4 hands in your mouth, but whatever. the second the novocaine wore off, it was pretty sensitive. I gave it a few days, but it only got worse. there was also a huge chunk of filling that cracked off. I just went in to have it fixed and was informed that my tooth doesn't hurt, but that they want to keep an eye on it so that it doesn't get infected. the huge ridge where the filling cracked was ground down a bit and then they had the nerve to charge me $25. no dentist I have gone to in the past has charged to fix something that wasn't done properly the first time around. I guess I'll be driving 3 hours each way to my childhood dentist since they are more than capable. too bad. read more

I've never had such a terrible teeth pain until I let that lady (Dr Pakah ) put her hands in my mouth, it's been almost one month and I can't stop taking pain killers and they are not even helping that much, the pain is horrible!!! She was not professional at all she rush through it because she had more people waiting for her, for real ??? Am I an object or something??? She even cut her finger during the precidure and she was in a bad mood because I questioned her when she said she didn't have enough time to take the second tooth out, so she ended up taking out just half of it and referred me to an specialist for surgery because apparently she didn't know it was an impacted tooth until it was too late, when I got to the the specialist he told me that she could have left me num for good because the nerve was very close to the roots and he decided to just leave it alone, but it seems like that other doctor didn't know about it. I just had my cleaning done today. This is my second time here and each time I came in, the employees were kind and friendly. For both times, I did not book an appointment. They take walk ins. The receptionist was kind enough today to ask the doctor if they can take me in for a cleaning. The wait was not even long either! To be quite honest, they did a wonderful job. I went there twice, and I will not go there anymore. I just move from other state to MA. I thought I should find a dentist around without parking issue. That was why I chose there. First time, I got the "new patient special" with my teeth cleaned and examed. They told me that my teeth had EIGHT points which needed fillings. I needed to spend 1,800 dollars to fix them. Come on! I got my teeth checked at least once every six month. None of the dentist in my old place told me that I needed so many fillings! They were great dentists to find the bad points others could not? I did have one old filling dropped, so I chose to fix it first. Then I set up the second appointment. When I was back home and look into the mirror, I realize that they didn't even do a good job of cleaning. Second time, I got my old filling fixed. It seemed OK. However, three weeks later, the new filling droped. Only three weeks!! I'm not sure how good they are. I'm so glad I didn't let they to touch my teeth more. Otherwise I can't image I got eight fillings dropped after three weeks. read more

The short version: DO NOT GO TO DR. DENTAL The long version: I went to Dr. Dental for a cleaning and discovered I needed ALOT of work. The Dentist Dr. Modem suggested we begin work on my cavity's one side at a time. I got 4 fillings, paid in cash. I was back in 3 days for a bite adjustment because I was in pain. She said my bite was deeper than she expected. I called a week later, still in pain. She said she filled a deep cavity and I may need a root canal on the tooth she had just worked on. That didn't need a $2000.00 root canal before she touched it. Fast forward 2 weeks later, still in pain, went back in for antibotics and prescription Motrin. 4 days later I went in to continue getting fillings on my bottom teeth, an appointment I had already saved for and had planned. I told her I was 80% better but still sore. She tells me ANOTHER TOOTH IS MOST LIKLEY MESSED UP and that she will probably need to redo the filling. Best part.. she numbs my mouth, looks at me and says "If your not comfortable getting your work done here or buy me you do not have too and I don't have to do your teeth" Um Lady...... maybe you should have started a fight with me before you just Novicaned me?? Am I not in the chair numbed about to get 3 more fillings? We preceded to get in a yelling match in the office. It was the most unprofessional display in a medical office I have ever seen and am truly shocked it even happened. She cannot take anyone that she preserves as criticizing her work and flipped out and took it personal that my teeth were wrong. I came there for a cleaning, went back for fillings, and left with a tooth that now needs a root canal, a bad filling, and I bite that is still wrong. And no dentist to fix it, because I would never let her near my mouth again. I was refunded for the tooth that now needs a root canal but not for the second filling that she said probably needs to be redone. The office is always empty. I have only ever seen the one angry dentist, no other dentist. They send you text, emails, and call you to confirm appointments even when you confirm it 5 times. STAY AWAY and I will be taking my $6000. worth of dental work somewhere else! read more

Well I have been here several times, with my kids and myself, and have always had a pleasurable experience...until my last one. Usually all staff (including dentists) are very friendly and welcoming. They are great with kids and do their best to make sure the young ones feel comfortable (even include parents in the helping). They even have a small little play area for the children in the lobby. They seem to do the basics from xrays, cleaning, deep cleaning, crowns and fillings. They do not do extractions or braces themselves but as the other review states they do refer ones that in my opinion are great. The reason for my not so happy experience recently was because the dentist seemed to be on the sensitive side that day. She was very critical of her staff but not in a polite way! As I'm laying on the chair with my mouth wide open she is telling her assistant that if she continues to mess up she is going to fire her. Once I was done that I go to wait for my scheduling of my next appointment, the dentist sits in the reception area with a FML face. Then after she leaves, comes back to criticize the receptionist, Laura, for being slow. The poor girl must have answered the phone 5-6 times just as I was waiting for my appointment. There is no other help in the front! She is scheduling, answering the phone, and attending to myself and the incoming patients all in the 2-3 minutes I am standing there. Add on to that the criticism of your boss while all of this is going on. Regardless I can say that the receptionist was very apologetic for the wait and for the comments of her boss. She was very kind and made me feel a bit at ease. She made me remember why I loved this place for my family and I. overall my last visit was very, VERY uncomfortable, but the other staff were amazing as always. I will say though that this past experience was enough to scare me a bit from going again. Who knows if she might fire someone as she's filling a cavity. read more
