I never write reviews, but for the first time I had a great experience at a dental office and decided to share my experience. Today was my first time at Dr. Salem's office. I arrived to my appointment a few minutes early, and did not have to wait to be seen. The staff were very pleasant and provided great service. During my exam, Dr. George Salem was very thorough, explained everything very clearly, and was extremely nice. I also had a consult with Dr. Michael Kacewicz, who was just as pleasant and had a great personality. I will continue to be a patient at Dr. George Salem & Associates :) read more

my wife went to dr.salem for a consultation for a dental implant. he is EVIL!!! he purposely loosened her good tooth next to the open space where she wanted the implant. she had to tell him to stop wiggling her tooth. he knew exactly what he was doing, now she has a loose tooth!!! he did this for the MONEY he thought he was going to get!!! do not go to this guy, if you value your teeth!!! #snake in the grass #wolf in sheep's clothing go anywhere but here!!! read more

So I figured I'd fill you in on my Groupon experience. I went to the dental office, and was given the basic doctors office paperwork from a young looking Jennifer Love Hewitt (pre-Jamie Kennedy...). The paperwork was the "I understand I am responsible to pay for the services you give me, and just because I have insurance it doesn't mean it's the dentist offices responsibility to collect" type of stuff... From there I was taken back for the X-Rays, and I swear I had more pictures from more angles than I've had in my entire life (I'm older than Justin Beiber, but younger than Martin Sheen). She (the X-Ray girl) must have graduated that morning from the tech school, because she was EXTREMELY nervous, and put hat funky thing inside my mouth (that's what she said) in places that were EXTREMELY uncomfortable! The X-Ray process took about 20 minutes... From there I waited about 30 minutes for the dental hygienist. (I was given an Architectural Digest magazine that had more advertisements in it than actual architecture...). I then move to the hygienist station, where I had the most detailed cleaning EVER! I mean, a paleontologist wouldn't have scraped more dirt away from the site of the missing link... Was my mouth that bad? I get a cleaning every 6 months! The cleaning took an hour. An hour! During that time Jenny (the paleontologist on safari in my mouth) tried to up sell me into switching dentists to her office. I wasn't upset, because I knew the dentist office didn't offer the Groupon out of the goodness in their heart... After the cleaning, Jenny handed me two packets of Opalescene Treswhite Supreme ($40 on Amazon for ten), which was a little disappointing. If it wasn't for Jenny's attention to detail, I would have felt ripped off... Five Stars for Jenny - Three Stars for the dental office. read more

I brought my child to Dr, Salem for a cleaning. I was told by the office that my child had deep cavities and needed fillings with local anesthesia. The office manager then proceeded to work up any estimate for me to pay beyond what my dental plan would reimburse. Skeptical, I brought my daughter to another dentist and was told by this dentist that my daughter's cavities were shallow and only required a deep cleaning and sealant. I then called Dr. Salems's office and requested a call from Dr. Salem. I was told by his office manager that he was "too busy to call patients". By going for a second opinion, I spared my daughter from having unnecessary local anesthesia and composite fillings. It has been several months now & my daughter has not had any further cavities. I will never have my child treated there again. Dr. Salem's office is rude, expensive, and incompetent! read more

I've been going to Dr. Salem's office for 10+ years now, and can't imagine anyone else working on my teeth. He's helped me with orthodonture work, as well as crowns, fillings & cleanings, and I trust and respect him every step of the way. I believe that I feel this way because he and his office support staff all treat me with a level of kindness, respect and professionalism that I truly appreciate. Whether he's making time to see you on very short notice (in case of a problem), or something as simple as walking you in from the waiting room to calm your anxiety, this guy cares. Each member of my family has been to this office over the past several years and had similar negative experiences: all these folks do is push product, recommend unnecessary treatment and "upsell" you. Today my son went in for a scheduled cleaning and without telling him, they did a "full mouth debridement", which left him with significantly bleeding and sore gums, and as he left, they told him it "might not be covered" by our insurance. They took x-rays but did not go over them with him (he is 18). They insisted he should "come back" for the cleaning next week. Each time I went in I was told I needed fillings "replaced" with something that (of course) was not generally covered by insurance. They recommend you see "their" orthodontist and "their" oral surgeon. We fired this charlatan today. Stay away! read more

I bought a groupon for a dental exam, x-rays and teeth cleaning. This was the most painful dental experience I have ever had. I had regular family dentist in NH I loved who recently passed away and bought the groupon because it was a great deal. The experience started off tramatic when they did 17 x-rays!!! They literally x-rayed every tooth!!! Every other dentist I have gone to has done 2-4 x-rays I feel like I just ingested a microwave! The hygienist and the dentist seem to be scamming patients because they mentioned about 40 things that are wrong with my teeth. I'm not saying my teeth are perfect but the last cleaning I had (at another dentist's office in CA) 6 months ago went great. If they are not trying to scam me and I really do need all the SURGERY they were talking about then they need to work on their bedside manner. It's better to explain things gently then to scare them fox news style. Maybe my teeth are as bad as they say but I definitely not going back and will be finding a less painful and more welcoming dentist. read more

I have been going to Dr. Salem for over 15 years. He was recommended by a co-worker. Best decision I have ever made. I have since recommended him to 4 other patients who now also go to Dr. Salem. I have been here for only a consultation and a cleaning so far. I have some more work scheduled. After which I will update my review. Let's just say that I was so blown away by the professionalism of Dr. Salem and his Hygienist, I believe her name was Jenny. My consultation lasted about an hour and a half. I felt as though every possible nook and cranny of my mouth was checked. Dr. Salem also used a fiber optic camera to show me the cavities that I will need filled. This is something I never have experienced and I felt as though it really helped elevate the examination process to an above and beyond rating. I recommend Dr. Salem to anyone who is looking for a Dentist who truly cares about his patients. read more

I was skeptical about Dr. Salem's office when I read these reviews, but I am glad I got over that and went to him anyway. Dr. Salem and his staffs are very friendly. I hate dentists and I am scared of dentists, therefore I'm extremely picky. I scheduled my cleaning here based on the reviews I read. The front desk was super nice, my hygienist was very nice, gentle and thorough, and Dr. Salem was amazingly nice and really put me at ease. I felt like I was talking to my friend. I feel really comfortable here and the office even has very advanced equipments. You can even watch a movie through a goggle during a procedure while getting a paraffin hand wax treatment. That is unbeatable!! I love this dental office!!! I would not hesitate to recommend this dental practice to my friends and families. read more

I scheduled a cleaning. As being a new patient they wanted all new x-rays with patient intake (I have x-rays from last year with out of state dentist. The technician was not careful with the plastic piece for the x-rays and cut the bottom of my mouth. Then the young dentist came in, talked too fast and didn't know what veneers are. And promptly had my mouth bleeding when it has not bled in years. When I returned for cleaning the dental hygienist didn't clean two back teeth and could not keep the polish brush on my teeth causing a lot of discomfort on my gums. I got a zoom treatment a couple of months before my wedding... the staff were super friendly and they made sure i was comfortable! While waiting for my teeth to get whitened they asked me if I wanted to watch a movie through eye lenses while I waited, that was nice! I got whitening paste leftover to take home which I was able to apply before my wedding again. A year later, they have become my dentist due to my relocation and I love their customer service. My dentist has been super helpful so far and really seeks the best care for me. read more

I used to go to Dr. Salem for all mine and my family's dental needs. We had our teeth cleaned, xray'd filled, whitened, deep cleaned.....I liked the "clean, professional environment" that many dentists like to project. We even religiously went every 4 months as he asked us to prevent dental issues This was up until.....years ago when I had the last cleaning and x rays. He informed me that he had to replace ALL my old fillings (over 10 of them) since they started to look bad and they MAY start bigger problems that could be prevented by replacing them all. I asked if it's possible to at least have white fillings and not the silver ones (AKA Mercury). He replied that silver (mercury) holds better on the molars and is the way to go. I agreed and had the replacement done at his office. Admittedly, he did a good job replacing all of my 17 years old fillings. Incidentally after the fact I remembered that 1-2 of those fillings were just 2 years old, but according to Dr Salem ALL fillings were bad and had to be replaced. Soon after, I found another dentist and moved my care. I visit that dentist every 6 months and have no problems with my teeth ever since. Unfortunately I have to live with my NEW mercury fillings that Dr. Salem sold me on and it infuriates me having mercury in my mouth when he could at least chosen the porcelain ones. I have consulted with other dentists ever since about need to replace old fillings and it's unanimous decision not to touch them until there are problems. I am angry and disappointed that I was sold thousands of dollars in a procedure I didn't need and not only didn't improve my dental condition may have increased the likelihood of future problems. I am well aware that Dr. Salem may respond and try to defend his reputation and practice from negative comments but the need to warn and protect other consumers is even greater. I wish the ADA would take a close look at his procedures and determine if they were all necessary (but won't hold my breath on it). And I wish Dr. Salem would change his practice and put his patients' well being above his financial gains. read more

I feel Dr. Salems office staff is wonderful and Laura the hygienist does a great job.I had a bad experience with his associate and spoke to Dr. Salem about it.He was Rude ill mannered argumentive would not let me talk,talked down to me as if I was stupid I am shaking from this conversation.I have never had a Doctor or anyone for that matter treat me so.All he cares about is making money does not care if you are happy with the job done.The worst part is I was calm and just wanted to talk about my concern and hang up and he came after me on the attack Senior citizens should not be treated in such a way or anyone for that matter,he took a simple conversation to a level similar to verbal abuse still horrified by my treatment he talked over me I had to ask to talk scary man would not stop yelling at me and the accusations I did nothing but call.His receptionist listened to me before him and was so professional and willing to listen,I would have left it at that she had him call me he needs to take lessons in professionalism,manners and maybe an anger management class.My heart is pounding so hard I can't breathe read more

I love this place and even when i move out of state, will fight to stay a patient here! I have been going to this dentist for the past 2 years and my experiences there have been nothing but positive. Every single person from Dr. Salem himself to the receptionist has provided me with exceptional service and genuine friendliness. They pay very close attention to detail with your mouth, and Dr.Salem has always double checked the work that is done in my mouth before I am let go. The premises are beyond clean and it is a delight to even use the bathroom. They never pressure me to buy any products they carry and I am in and out always on time. Salem, Stoyneva and Lann--to the hygienists and Kathy and Chris out front in the office--all are top professionals and are so personable too. I feel like they are part of my family. Dr. Salem, Kathy and Chris were terrific about designing a plan of extensive crown replacements for deteriorating fillings over a two year period to time my dental work to maximize my insurance benefits and flex spend to my advantage. This place is great, the staff are friendly and professional. The front office people seem to go out of there way as far getting prior authorization from insurance companies done in a timely manor.
