    Loves her hip glasses.

Dr Cornwwell is the best eye Dr I have ever had in my entire life. No Dr has ever explained things to me the way he does. He and Olivia are professional, so kind, caring and they truly deserve great 5 Star ratings and success. My family has been going to them ever since they first opened here in Burlington.

During my time here, Olivia proved to be one of the best business owners I've met. She went out of her way to help me find glasses that I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for. Even when I wan looking at more expensive glasses, she was like, "Nooo! You don't need to pay that!" I even heard her offer to drop eyeglasses off at a client's business since they stopped by early and they weren't ready. She is also very patient with customers when explaining things and has a lot of industry knowledge. And, look at this amazing, adorable packaging. She did this for everyone! There were so many cute little eyeglass gift bags for all of her customers.

Attempted to schedule an eye exam however the phone number posted is not a working number. Not off to a good start!

Loved the care and kindness of everyone at See! Felt very well taken care of. I do wish they had a wider selection of frame brands.

I was referred to Dr. Raymond A. Powell by a longtime patient in 2017. Because English is a second…read morelanguage for me, I was assisted by my adult daughter. Following an eye exam in late 2022, I prepaid in full for new glasses. When I went to pick them up in January 2023, there seemed to be a problem. When I called my daughter to translate the nature of the problem, longtime office manager JOEN M. WILKINS picked up my phone and said to my daughter "ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE US A CREDIT CARD SO WE CAN RELEASE THESE FRAMES?" The office manager shortly thereafter realized that the frames were already paid for, and then "released" them to me without apology. In the very same day, I received a bill for the Medicaid paid for exam with a handwritten note "WRONG INSURANCE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US. WE ARE UNABLE TO BILL YOUR INSURANCE. THIS BILL IS THEREFORE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY". JOEN M. WILKINS later admitted to writing this note, which appeared to be rooted only in assumption. My insurance had been billed successfully for years, and had not changed and remained valid at the time of this encounter. A call to the Washington State Healthcare Authority confirmed my insurance had not changed and was active and valid. Upon hearing this, JOEN M. WILKINS said the State of Washington was wrong, without being able to provide any factual basis for her opinion. She appeared to be unable to own the mistake, and her reaction implied she's been conducting herself this way for a very, very long time. The State of Washington Healthcare Authority Official asked my daughter to take her phone into the office on speakerphone for JOEN M. WILKINS to hear the information from the State official directly. JOEN M. WILKENS locked her office door and refused to speak with the State Healthcare Authority Official on speakerphone, but her work husband (Doctor RAYMOND A. POWELL) did take the call and, after finally realizing that JOEN M. WILKENS had made a mistake, the Doctor promised to have the invoice re-billed. That never happened, and I was never refunded my cash payment that should have been re-billed to insurance. I sent a letter to the Doctor weeks later (translated to English) stating my concern that was never answered. I switched eye care providers after this experience and felt bad for other vulnerable elderly Medicaid patients who don't have a knowledgeable English speaking advocate to inquire on their behalf. During my years as a Burlington Eye Care patient, I observed the office staff turnover was excessive, and saw many capable and talented office staff leave (thank you to Melissa, Letty and Erin!, among many others). We encountered one former receptionist in the nearby Hagen parking lot in tears, who affirmed that JOEN M. WILKINS was the source of the perpetual staff turnover, and confirmed that JOEN M. WILKINS' relationship with the Doctor was like a marriage, wherein the Doctor protected her as if she was his spouse, and as long as one of them was working, the other wouldn't retire. That particular receptionist resigned sometime around 2018. I see a number of reviews here highlighting unpleasant patient encounters with staff, and I think spotlighting the decades-long relationship between JOEN M. WILKINS and RAYMOND A. POWELL will bring some closure to patients who had an unpleasant experience with the administrative side of the clinic, and were left wondering what kind of toxic dynamic allowed the dysfunction on the administrative side to continue. I see that the clinic is now closed, and wish the kind and knowledgeable Doctor good health and a peaceful and pleasant retirement.

I am so happy I had upgraded lens replacement surgery on both eyes! I am writing this review…read morewithout my glasses, which makes me smile. Overall, a very good experience with NW eye. The surgeon is just delightful and I am still healing/getting used to my eyes (only been 1 week since the second eye) but I can tell already that this was a great decision for me. I'm only 62, but I had the beginning of cataracts (I am told this is very common at my age) and my vision was getting worse. I was so sick and tired of readers on-and-off, and it was a nuisance for teaching--had to perch glasses on the end of my nose. No more--I can read my lessons and talk to the students without any correction now. Upgraded lenses are expensive, but insurance paid for half of the total due to the cataracts, which are covered--I just had to pay for the special lens. My lesson learned to pass on is to get the second eye done as soon as comfortable. I think I had a harder time adjusting to and recovering from the first one because the upgraded lens are meant to work with each other. Once I had the second one done, the first felt instantly better. The second eye recovery was so much quicker! They tell me each eye is individual in how it recovers. OK--so why not 5 stars? I had to dock them one for the often frustrating lack of cohesion between the BHam clinic and the Mt. Vernon surgery center. I LOVE the way Mt. Vernon runs, and the staff are so nice and friendly. Not the same vibe in BHam. They are nice, but not as customer-service oriented. Just getting through to a human on the phone is a challenge, and you might get different versions/opinions from different doctors and staff in BHam. They all seem a little green. The call center doesn't always have accurate information. My only note about Mt. Vernon is that the discharge person is a bit abrupt and physically rough--which is a bit disconcerting when you are still a bit disorientated and feeling vulnerable right after surgery. (Both times so I know he wasn't just having a bad day).) It would be nice to have some of the more compassionate care you get before surgery. A last impression is just as important as a first one.

This place is chaotic. Too much differing or conflicting information. Huge $7000 price variations…read more(whoops we made a mistake). Changing policies. In the end, I traveled 6 hour r/t and paid for 2 nights in a hotel and didn't even get my surgery done. While it was a giant waste of money, I felt like I dodged a bullet. These are my eyes, I don't want them cared for by some place that feels sketchy.
