Two times he has been here for emergency surgery and care. And it has been nothing short of amazing. They would call me text me, etc. with any updates for him. The first time he was in it was for four days for a stomach surgery. The second time he was in they cared for him after another Vet completely left me high and dry after they performed surgery on him they assured me if I brought him here they would give him fluids keep him quiet, etc. and make sure that the surgery that was performed on him was up to par. I have never had any issues with this vet nor have I had an astronomical bill for the care that my dog has received. So needless to say, I am shocked at their reviews cause I've always had a good experience and we will be back and always try and recommend people here.

My first visit went well. My boy was having a problem, we went in under urgent care, and they were…read moreresponsive and got us in pretty quickly. The follow up visit was a bit different. The vet was great but the assistant, not so much. My boy is a bit mouthy (it's a breed thing) and will bite if I do something he doesn't like; he'll do that to anyone. The assistant tried to take his temperature and he resisted by moving his head around--the assistant tried to force it and he gently went to "mouth" her hand. Rather than calming him before trying again, she snapped at him and stuck the thermometer in his arm pit. She wasn't particularly personable in general but scorning my dog (or any dog) because they're uncomfortable with having a foreign object shoved into their ear is uncalled for. My boy loves everyone, he's a very happy go lucky dog and was excited and playful and the assistant completely disregarded that and behaved like she didn't want anything to do with him--he tried to engage her and she brushed him off. This is very rude behavior coming for a company where professionalism and compassion for the animal should be first and foremost. The other concern was that I explained to the vet that my boy was resisting the med--I was able to trick him the first few times but each subsequent time was more challenging as he's a great quick learner. I asked for an alternative that could be applied differently as I didn't think he would comply with additional applications of what she gave me--she told me to keep trying and she could prescribe the alternative if I continued to have difficulties. As I suspected, he no longer allowed me to apply the original med. So he received three applications, I think, but nothing additional after the follow up visit (which was kind of the point of scheduling a few days after the original urgent care visit, to get the alternative med she mentioned in the first visit). I know my dog, I fully respect him even when he's being stubborn about something that needs to be done--I'll find another way that doesn't bother him. But the vet removed that option even though I was willing to pay for the additional prescription--I mean, really, why not just listen to the owner/handler and prescribe a med that is less stressful to the dog? Lastly, I keep getting emails from them titled "How'd we do?" with a survey link that doesn't work--I've mentioned it to them previously but it's still not fixed or I would've just completed their survey and provided this feedback.

If you want good, quality, and THOROUGH veterinary care you're going to have to pay for it anyway. I hear great things about all the vets that work here, but so far I've only had experience with Dr. Romans. She is wonderful. She doesn't rush you in and out of the office like some vets do. She takes the time to thoroughly and comprehensively examine the problem and come up with a feasible treatment plan. She really seems to know her stuff and I trust her 100%. She's also very patient with difficult animals, and approaches them in a very relaxed manner that they seem to respond well to. All the staff at this practice are great though and I would recommend these guys to anyone - they all seem to genuinely love animals, and care about their well-being. What more could you want in a vet??

The staff and vets have not only been attentive and compassionate to my Clementine, but very empathetic to me when I've had to make hard decisions about her care. They have been able to squeeze in last minute appointments multiple times, always follow up after procedures, and refill medications quickly. Thank you so much for making a stressful week so much less stressful with the help and care for my dog during an emergency. We needed the quills taken out. This Aspen Vet Clinic has a great web site but its not true. We have been customers since Dr. Conley Westover statred this clinic (over 30 years ago) and i'm sure he would not appreciate the lack of service we got.

Midtown has been taking care of my Nova for just over a year now. I have been to several other vets…read morein town and they are by far my favorite. My dog has a very complicated immune system disorder. It took time to get a diagnosis but they were thorough and determined to find out what going on with her. They were able to determine she has polysystemic immune mediated disease. It gave her kidney disease and Evan's syndrome. Keeping Nova healthy is a delicate balance but they were able to get her stable. Having more time with Nova is everything to me and it's all because of them. Nova loves her visits. All the staff know her by name and care for her so well. I have so much trust in them and feel so grateful for all they do.

They have been treating my family's animals for a long time now, but today they cleaned my dogs teeth for the first time. My little dog, Tali, has trauma from the last time she was at the vet (no fault of the other vets, but she was super sick, and so now she gets very anxious anytime we walk into a clinic). Highland house calls was patient with her, and I really felt they treated her as one of their own. But what truly made Highland Housecalls stand out for me was their nonjudgmental attitude. Sometimes, when you go into a walk-in veterinarians office, you can leave feeling very guilty- asking yourself "Why didn't I get her teeth cleaned sooner?" Or "How could I have missed that mole?" and even "Do they think I'm a bad pet parent? Am I a bad pet parent?". But Highland Housecalls had me asking none of those questions. They understood that we were doing our best juggling life and taking care of our pets, and that is important to me. Wanted to share a great emergency Vet in Flagstaff. Last night around 4:00 it looked like our dog…read morehad been bitten by a poisonous spider here in our property in Valle, AZ, so we threw her in the car and ran down to the vet in Flagstaff. They were so wonderful to us and with her, ran a battery of tests and immediately put her on a course of heavy antihistamines. After blood work it was determined she likely did not get a major dose of the poison and by 9:30 we were home. The doctor and staff were amazing and we are grateful she is home and doing well . Just wanted to pass along in case anyone has an after-hours scare with a pet here in Northern Arizona.

We sat in the isolation area with our 11 week old puppy for 3 and a half hours when they had "2 pups in front of us". We went as scared first puppy owners worried because our dog wasn't eating or drinking water all day. Went for a parvo test and an exam for a total of 468 dollars, which an exam at another place is $85. The exam didn't seem to be of any use either because they still couldn't tell us what could even be wrong with even after a negative test for parvo the doctor still wanted to try and give us an estimate for an x ray, bloodwork, and meds all adding up to $1900. We got into the lobby there was not a single soul in there, almost like we got put on the back burner because we were in the isolation area. We went because he wouldn't chew food and the meds they gave us are pills he has to chew which he won't! And then they basically sent us on our way. They also were yelling at our dog, which we could hear from the lobby. Was very hesitant the entire day to bring him in to a vet or way until the next day and absolutely paid the price and time for it as we were there from 6:15 to almost 1 in the morning while they had a basically empty lobby. Zero good customer care the doctor couldn't even tell us what was wrong after a 500 dollar exam fee and then said he would suggest x rays and bloodwork which were the most expensive choices of the estimate. Complete scam I should've walked out hours sooner. Would highly not recommend. Also the med we got for him was a med he has just finished a day ago and it was a liquid form med but we received pill versions of it from there after our whole issue with our pup was he won't consume or drink anything. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else cause I know we will be from now on
