I've had my pets looked at by several vets at other veterinary locations over the years and I can…read morethankfully say I have ever had a bad experience anywhere but Canyon Pet Hospital has exceeded all expectations. Over last winter my old man started to have more complications including starting to have seizures up to 2-3 times a day, when I called his vet, they couldn't accommodate seeing him except for in about 3 weeks time and we couldn't wait. I called Canyon Vet and they were able to get us in that very day, the vet made sure to give us various medication to help with everything he was going through, had X-rays done to check on his heart murmur and over the next 3 months made sure to keep up on routine visits to make sure he was as comfortable as can be in his last few months. The team of assistants were always able to answer any questions for us or make sure someone was able to give us a call back. The day he passed, they gave us all the time we needed to be with him and hold him both before and after his passing and we could feel the love and care they had for my little bean. Even now, over 6 months later, when I was checking out from another visit with our other pup, he was mentioned and the girl at the desk said she remembered him and it makes me so happy knowing that they really cared and remember my baby boy.

I had a very disappointing experience at Canyon Pet Hospital. I left feeling financially taken…read moreadvantage of while I was in an emotional and vulnerable state, worried about my pet's health. Communication throughout the visit was poor. I hardly had the opportunity to speak directly with the veterinarian, and I interacted with so many different veterinarians and veterinary technicians throughout the visit that I lost track of who was responsible for my pet's care. Before I received a proper debrief about the procedures that had been performed, the medications being prescribed, or the total cost, I felt pressured to check out and pay. I hadn't even seen my pet yet before being expected to settle the bill. During the visit, additional diagnostic tests for unrelated issues were recommended, which only added to my concerns that unnecessary services were being pushed. My pet was also prescribed antibiotics and other medications despite being told there was no conclusive evidence of an infection. When I asked why antibiotics were being prescribed, the vet technician told me the veterinarian was trying to "cover all her bases." That explanation did not give me confidence that the medication was actually necessary and left me questioning whether I was paying for treatments my pet truly needed. To top it off, I was encouraged to schedule a follow-up appointment. Given my experience, that suggestion felt completely out of touch. The entire visit was strange, unsettling, and left me with more questions than answers. I understand that veterinary care can be expensive and that treatment recommendations can vary, but this experience made me feel like my concern for my pet was used to justify unnecessary costs. When you're scared and emotional, it's easy to trust every recommendation without questioning it, and I left feeling manipulated rather than supported. I would encourage others to ask for detailed explanations of recommended treatments, discuss alternatives, and consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to costly procedures. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Canyon Pet Hospital.

One is too many stars. We took our dog for stitches…read more We got a proposal for $3600. WHAT??? He needs bloodwork, X-rays, pathology, general anesthesia, radiology, it could have penetrated the chest wall, 4 hour hospital stay and too many other things to mention. We had to pay $219 after they did nothing except look at our dog. All that took an hour and half. This after driving over an hour. Once they gave our dog back to us, we drove 2 hours to Yavapai Animal Emergency in Prescott Valley. They examined him in about 10 minutes. Thoroughly explained what they would do. Give him a shot, clean and staple up cut and send him home. They were done 20 minutes later and we were on our way home. The cost was $680. When I told this awful place in Flagstaff that they should be ashamed of themselves, they told me "we offer the gold standard of care". What a joke. I WAS ALMOST PHYSICALLY ILL. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED FURRY FRIEND TO THIS PLACE. Two hours of driving to and from this place. $219 for absolutely NOTHING. Just for them to give us our dog back. They should return our money. And by the way, the Dr that came into the room for 1-2 minutes reeked of perfume so bad. If he had been in the room any longer, I would have had to get out my inhaler to breathe. Yuck.
