And I definitely stand by that statement after they recovered my whole drive and saved my life. They also never asked me what the issue was that I was having and assumed very incorrectly about prior damage that had occurred more than a year prior. My computers worked perfectly after those spills because I was able to do a cleaning of them all those months ago. Their forced cleaning of my computers didn't resolve my issue at all because my actual issue was electrical issues we had been having in our home, and if they had asked me what problem I was having with them in the first place they would have known this and could have earned their money legitimately instead of scamming me for it. I ended up having to pay them $150 just to get my computers back with the same exact problem. The issue wasn't with them at all but was with the monitors. If they had spoken with me we could have figured this out before this unneeded cleaning service was forced upon me to pay for. I signed up for a free diagnostic and then he called to tell me I owe $69.99 per computer. What a scam! The front desk gentleman is very nice, but the actual repairman is a scammer. They also won't refund me the money! So now I have to buy new monitors which is more than $150 on top of the forced cleaning fees! Unbelievable! This is shady business and they shouldn't be allowed to keep scamming people. At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought this was only a misunderstanding, I reached out very kindly to explain all of this and ask for my money back. They only ignore me like I don't exist anymore. Of course, because he knows he scammed me!

Upon calling, I talked with Curt, who kindly assessed my problem and explained the data recovery process. I went to drop off my drive the same day. The location was somewhat difficult to find. Data Recovery is located inside the Clear Channel Building, the shiny tower just off the Montgomery Road exit on I-71. Their website said Suite 700, but upon arrival, the door placard read the name for HQ Global. In fact, it looked more like a law office than a place that salvages data. I walked through the big, glass doors and asked the receptionist where I could find the business. She said, "That's us! Are you dropping off?" I left my drive with her at the front desk, a post-it note attaching my name and info. I'll admit, I was a little nervous not getting to meet Curt face-to-face. It's always nice to know who is handling your sensitive information. The next day, I receive a call from Curt. He analyzed my drive and discovered the power board had been damaged. It was going to be replaced, then sent to the lab for data recovery. He quoted the process would take 5-7 business days. That was faster than I expected. The cost? $2,000. Ouch. OUCH! Having shopped around for companies, this seemed like the average rate for a damaged drive. Throughout the next week, I received updates from Curt about the status of my drive. It was sent to a lab for repair, but unfortunately, the data was unrecoverable. While I felt well-informed with the status updates from DRC, I didn't get my data back and have to give this place 2-stars.

Without reading the fine print I gave up my ability to contest charges. I was charged significant service charges before I was ever aware of the charges. When I demanded Ron invoice me before making charges to my credit card , I was told that Cherry Digital Services did not do business like that. I was sold and installed on my computer anti-virus software. After it was installed , I complained my computer had been hijacked by a "virus" . I was told by Ron, no one guarantees anything in this business. My advice is be very careful about using Cherry Digital Pros. They may be techically competent but I think there business policies are terrible. Do your due diligence .

It happens. Friends had told me about Elan, and I finally called them up and they said it would only cost $250 to replace my MacBook's LCD screen. So much cheaper than I had anticipated and been warned it would cost through Apple since my warranty/apple care had long since expired. Aside from the pleasantly surprising cost, the service was great. Friendly, helpful and fast. Dropped it off on a Thursday just before they closed (they're closed all weekend) and I got it back the following Tuesday. Way faster turn around than through the Apple store! Now I am free to review all sorts of cool places from the comfort of my cozy warm bed. :)
