Seeing the incredible before-and-after photos on their Instagram and reading so many glowing reviews gave me confidence that I was making the right choice. From my very first visit, Dr. Ngo took the time to answer all of my questions and reassured me that they would do everything possible to achieve the best result. The final result exceeded all of my expectations. The veneer blends in seamlessly with my natural teeth, and I genuinely find myself smiling so much more now. The transformation has been truly life-changing, and I only wish I had found Dr. Ngo sooner instead of waiting so long. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I have an INTENSE fear of the dentist, let alone a periodontist. Just the thought of going was enough to make me shake and feel sick. But once there, and in the chair, everyone was great. I asked them to explain everything in great detail, and they did. That was really nice. From there, things were surprisingly smooth. When I had questions after...even weeks or months later, they were highly responsive and patient. Unfortunately, I am not able to continue with the implant process with them. They only use titanium implants and I have a sensitivity to titanium (I strongly encourage biocompatibility testing prior to any device doing into your body). So, this is where I leave them. Crazy enough, they made my experience not so bad!

Brenda at the front desk and his hygienists always knows me by name! Dr. Fowler is so so nice and such a skilled dentist too. My favorite thing is that he explains everything. During a filling, for example, he will always check in with you to make sure you're doing okay. At each step in the procedure he will explain what is happening. Takes away any anxiety or nerves. My boyfriend was thinking about doing dental school and actually got to shadow Dr. Fowler for awhile as well! It was literally the most thorough dental exam I've ever had, with digital X-rays (including the panos that my last dentist didn't do), CT scans if needed, lots of photos, a tooth-by-tooth evaluation, oral cancer screening, even looking at mobility, jaw movement, etc. (Finally my knowledge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle comes in handy.) Dr. Pappas even pointed out something I'd brought up to a different dentist years ago and had completely forgotten about. He's also very transparent about whether a treatment can wait or needs to be done right away. The hygienist I had was also very thorough, so I definitely felt like I was in good hands all around. I switched here after a decade at a different dental clinic that had been cutting a lot of corners. As someone without specialized knowledge, navigating dental care can be frustrating and time-consuming. I find it so frustrating--as someone with no real knowledge of dentistry--when I feel like I to have to spend time attempting to research what dentists or other doctors should be doing so I can make sure they actually do it, or to figure out what to do about pain or issues they dismiss or tell me to ignore. We all have enough things to worry about without trying to become amateur dental or medical researchers. So it's a breath of fresh air to go somewhere like Arcadia Dental Arts where I can just kick back and relax knowing they're covering all the bases. Also the office is really nice, and it's right near Lola Coffee. And they have a super cute new patient gift bag, which was a nice touch! Glad to have found a new dental home.

Last…read moreyear my primary dentist told me something was wrong with my front bottom tooth and I needed to see a perio dentist. He referred me to Dr. Adashek at AZ Perio (in the Central PHX location). Upon arrival for my first visit everyone was very friendly at the front desk and every time after they always remembered me. After getting me into the room and conducting a brief exam, they brough in Dr. Adeshek who proceeded to tell me that my tooth needed to be removed and I needed an implant, but first I needed growth hormone to try to grow back some of the bone in order to put the implant in. I was so shocked and was not prepared for this news but he was so kind and understanding as I processed this information. The tooth removal and growth hormone procedure was scheduled right away and they made me a temporary insert (almost like invisalign with a tooth). Right after the removal I received a follow-up call directly from Dr. Adashek which was so appreciative. Over the next 6 months I was going into the office every 6-8 weeks until the area was ready for the implant and then after while the implant healed. It was a major dental journey to be sure!! They don't actually do the crown once the implant is inserted so I had to go back to my regular dentist for this -- now i will go into the office every year to check the implant. Overall I have been very pleased with the care I received during this lengthy dental journey!! Hopefully I won't need to go back but if I do I would definitely go here again.

It was highly recommended that I have that tooth pulled which I followed through with the following day. The removal was expert. I am so regretful that I did not seek a second opinion before proceeding with removal. It turns out that AZ Perio did NOT explain the less invasive and less expensive option of just removing the infection and monitoring the tooth afterwards. I regret being railroaded into an extraction. I regret that I was vulnerable to pushy sales techniques. I will not be following through with an implant and will never return to AZ Perio again. Dr Willman is no longer with the practice. Huge, enormous, gigantic loss for Pima Dental. About four months ago, I returned because I needed to molars extracted. Let me note that after the extractions I had fully intended beginning work on all my lower teeth, fully expecting to make another substantial investment. This practice is not inexpensive... in my view it is extremely overpriced (especially after I share what happened below). I was prepared to pay another substantial amount to complete my treatment. I did miss one appointment due to a personal emergency. I attempted to call but was unable to get through, and at the time my focus understandably had to be on the emergency. At my next scheduled appointment, I drove over 45 minutes from north Phoenix. I arrived and had X-rays done, and then met with a dentist who informed me that two teeth would need to be extracted by an oral surgeon and that the procedure could not be done there. While the dentist was courteous, the appointment ultimately resulted in a two-hour round trip simply to be referred elsewhere. I wish this had been communicated to me beforehand. As I was leaving, I was stunned when I was told not to leave and was informed that I owed a $50 missed-appointment fee. Mandy, the office manager, whom I had worked with before made it be known that I needed to pay $50. What disappointed me most was not the amount itself, but the complete lack of empathy or discretion--especially toward a long-standing patient who had already invested heavily in the practice and was prepared to invest significantly more. I understand that offices have cancellation policies. However, patient relationships should involve more than strict enforcement of fees. In my experience, this practice places profits above patient goodwill and patient satisfaction. Between the high costs of treatment and the rigid handling of this situation, it left me feeling that policies mattered more than people. As a business owner myself, I believe long-term trust, empathy, and relationships are what sustain a practice--not nickel-and-diming loyal patients. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to seek care elsewhere for the remainder of my treatment, and I will not be recommending this office moving forward ever again! I hope this feedback is taken constructively. My initial experience here was excellent, attributed primarily to Dr Willman, which makes this outcome all the more disappointing.
